I have been having audio issues for three days now. I can't do anything that is audio related (can't make calls, listen to music, play videos, or stream videos). It's not a hardware issue. It plays the boot up sound at times. Also, everytime I tried calling anyone the phone would freeze for a while.
I have been using some mod apps like Spotify, pocket cats for a while.
Can anyone help? Also I haven't root my phone. I'm on nougat. December security patch.
has anyone found a fix to this?
i am having the same issue
This seems like a completely new issue. A shortcut will be probably trying a factory reset and then updating to the March 1 Security Update.
Never heard of it..
factory reset is the only way it seems!

My sister has TMO S4 stock and for some reason she's loosing the ability to hear any call and no one can hear her either.
I went as far as to check the phone myself and it's not the hardware at this point.
I was able to record audio and play back no problem but all calls there was no audio, not even through the headphone jack.
However, I was able to playback audio such as music no problem, even recorded audio and playback through headphones without issues but not calls. Bluetooth worked but she doesn't like it, ugh.
I just had her do a factory reset thinking it might be something she downloaded that might be the problem. The audio seemed to work but now after about 2hrs it stopped again and this is before she even re-installed any apps.
Has anyone come across this issue? If so how did you fix it?
Thanks!
What apps did you install?
Press Thanks if I helped

Experiencing audio lag out of the box. The best way I can describe the effect is when you have HDMI connected from a PC to some audio receivers. If there is no sounds coming from the PC and the first event sound or audio is played there is sometimes a tiny loss of the beginning of the sound. All most as though the receiver knows it should be playing something and needs time to sync the bit rate kHz for playback and misses the first few milliseconds.
All ringtone, notifications, heck even YouTube is doing this out of the box. Missing the first few milliseconds of everything played. I noticed it first off then later rooted etc.. Thinking I could resolve on my own or it would resolve after debloat. I didn't notice the issue when briefly running CM12.
The plan if I can't resolve here with suggestions is to drasticly lowest level possible reload the phone complety then go from there. Who knows what happened to this thing when originally flashed and to the shelf.
Tried the normal stuff like reset phone off the get, cleared cache's. It happens with stock notifications and ringtones. I don't want to work around the issue by adding silence to the begining of all the ogg files. Most ringtones and notifications have an initial attack to the sound and I won't hear some if they are too short.
Any suggestions before I take a chance on bricking on my own? Also chime in if I'm not the only one having the issue.
I have an XT1526 and do not experience this problem. I would recommend resetting your device to factory default. If that doesn't work contact Motorola/your cell phone service provider.
I have encountered this multiple times.
The sound is coming normally and just goes off without any reason.
The sound comes back if I pause the audio/ video and then replay. However, after 2-3nutes the sound goes back again.
The only solution is to restart the phone and then the sound is OK for around 2-3 days.
1) During listening music on google play music.
2) During watching video on VLC player
Please help. Its a very annoying issue.
Edit:: this is a default Australian nexus with default rom and all the updates from Google. NOT rooted.
No replies? No suggestions? Comeon guys. Nexus 6P deserves to be issued free.
Hey. I've never had this issue on my phone. I don't use vlc but I use play music a lot and I've never really had that. If all else fails, do a reset? Or a manual flash of a stock image. See if that helps.
Hi,
my audio playback crashes reproducibly after seconds to minutes when i listen to music (play a video, make a call..) with any -> wired <- headset or headphones connected.
After that i have to reboot the phone to get audio working again; just unplugging headphones leaves the device also silent until next reboot.
The crash affects incoming call ringing, calls, anything related to audio.
I don't now when it started, must have been during winter time because Bluetooth audio playback works with no problems.
I'm unrooted and on stock rom. The OTA update to nougat did not solve the problem, either, as well as deleting cache.
Motorola support told me to reset phone before further support steps will be considered. I did not yet reset the whole phone, because i need it during traveling..
If anyone knows the problem, maybe related to an app,... let me know

Same thing here , stock or custom ROMs.FM radio works good but that's about it.

I just installed viper for android and the problem seems to have gone away.
Had these 2 S7s since launch no problem. Now after Nougat both of my S7s on the same cars I've had for 3 years have very bad skipping and cutting in/out when using bluetooth playback to the car.
I'm no noob so I have tried clearing cache etc.... gone into safemode and done the same and even turned off power saving features for bluetooth. The only thing I haven't done is factory reset to Marshmallow and I do not want to do that. Shouldn't have to downgrade and spend hours backing up all 32GB of pics, vids and music from both phones.
Anyone else had similar issue?
I have something same happening to me right now, when I listen music on spotify or watch videos on youtube, sometimes they are getting paused randomly without a reason I have no idea why. Anyone knows how to fix this issue?

Is that during regular playback or Bluetooth playback? Mine is during Bluetooth playback.

During regular playback, when I playback by Bluetooth in a car it also pauses but still I think it is becouse my phone pauses it on regular method.
I got my problem fixed by removing adds form app called GO Weather nad disenabling any notifications permissions what so ever for this app, maybe this idea will help you fix your problem.
