Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 Audio jack failing - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I own a Samsung A5 2016 since 3 months ago. 1 month after purchase the 3.5mm audiojack started failing intermittently. I have hard reset and it did not solve the problem. Bluetooth headphones work fine. It was repaired at the Samsung service center but today it started failing again just exactly as it did before. This clearly seems hardware related but they have replaced that part of the phone 2 months ago so the problem should not reappear.
Am I the only one with this problem?
Thank you all in advance.

speaker dead?

first off i just got the tmo hd2 us yesterday. everything worked fine sound wise last night and this morning was ok. at some point today while messing with it i realized i wasnt getting audio notification for texts i then tried music and speakerphone and nothing is working. both volume levels are up. could i have broken some setting or installed something? or did i really have my speaker give out on me after one day
last night i had the same problem,i did soft and hard reset and nothing still dead.
any ideas.
If a hard reset didn't fix this then I'd say it's a faulty unit and needs to be replaced. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news
Same with me this morning. Last night it was ok. I didnt install any softwares that could couse this problem. It happend on it's on overnight.
either of you sort this out?
Just got a HD2 in for repair with the same issue
I know speakers can cost less than a bottle of coke so I don't mind buying one to replace it but would prefer hearing your experiances first
thanks
Had the same exact issue. Tried everything from hard resets and re-flashing ROMs(All official). Never did HSPL. Just out of the blue one day it wasn't working anymore. I was ready to bring it for repair(still with warranty), but when I did the latest update from HTC site(Middle East and Africa), all of a sudden it went back to life. Ever since I've been battling with myself thinking if it was better I still send it for warranty repairs. My problem is I know it takes like more than a month for the unit to be returned to me since I'm from the Philippines, it needs to be shipped out for repairs.
Mine has also failed...yet I am in a country with no service center ...
Can this rear speaker be repaired by opening unit or this is not possible?
I so love the phone and this is such a bummer of a fault only a month old bought from seller on ebay in hong kong and am currently on holidays for the next few months. strangely blowing into the speaker worked for a few days but now its dead...
What you guys think?
Send it in for repairs any shop sell the speaker as I am apt with solder and electrical devices...

Speakerphone microphone hardware issue

Hi!
I had my S4 (I9505) serviced a few months ago. Warranty repair, they replaced the whole mainboard. The repair took forever, and when I got the phone back, I already had purchased another one (second hand) that I liked better (Xperia Z1 compact, I liked the size), so I tested the repaired phone was working, but no more than that. A few months later when I missed my big screen and some custom ROMs I took back my I9505 and started using it with stock ROM. I soon noticed people couldn't hear me when I was on speaker phone. Then I flashed a few aosp and CM based ROMs, and realized it wasn't a software issue: it did not work on those either. And when trying to dictate something, or use voice command, the phone just doesn't "hear" anything. So the same mic must be involved in those operations, which makes sense since it is when you speak from further away from your phone.
Unfortunately, months have passed since the repair and the phone is no longer under warranty.
I started investigating a little bit, and it seems there are two microphones on the phone. The regular one works well but the other one not at all. So, here are my questions:
1. Is the second microphone located on the top of the phone, next to the headphone jack? If anyone has a diagram or picture of the board with the second microphone marked, I'd be happy to see it
2. How is that second mic connected to the board? Is it a cable, a contact or is it welded? Or is it integrated on the board?
3. If it is a part that can be replaced, where can it be purchased?
4. Anyone has had the same issue? If so, could you solve it?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers!

No audio on left channel

Hello. A few days ago I lost the sound on the left channel on my N910F. I tried with different headphones (and also my headphones on other phone). The headphones are ok but I have no sound on the left channel (the headphones microphone works though). I tried cleaning the internal connector as good as I can but no luck, so I sent the phone to a samsung service for warranty. They called me the next day saying they wont touch the phone because it is rooted which voided the warranty.
Is the phones connector a separate module which I can change myself? If so how expensive is it? It also could be the motherboard... I only used dr ketan's rom and emotroid on this phone... I've been rooting and flashing samsung devices sice the S1 days (every iteration) and never heard of something like this.. that's why I'm blaming a physical issue with the connector.
Thanks.

It's the right channel which is not working, the left one is ok. I am now ordering the replacement part, if anyone interested here's how you change it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsUhVTj6Drc

Audio IC on Samsung Note 9.

The Audio on my Note 9 is no longer working.
The head phone jack is dead. Both the Mic and both the top and bottom speakers are dead.
I have given it to Samsung asking them to fix it. But if they do not fix it. I plan to fix it myself.
I have narrowed it down to two possible ICs. One is the
max 9845 https://datasheets.maximintegrated.com/en/ds/MAX9812-MAX9813L.pdf
the other the
WM8960 https://www.cirrus.com/products/wm8960/
The problem started after the update to the latest version. First it started to heat up more than normal. Then it took really long to work. Then audio started to get sketchy and finally audio died.
The fun bit if I screen cast. I get audio. If I use blue tooth head set I get audio.
But I cant answer phone calls using my Bluetooth which I could do earlier.
Spent a few days going thru the logs on the phone using ADB the only thing I saw was could not open /dev/snd/
Which makes me think its the 98512 IC.
Any help appreciated. If Im lucky Samsung will agree with me that a Flag Ship phone that costs 1000$ should last for at least 2 Years. And they fix it. Else I have to order the IC and fix it myself.
Ps: There is one more possible IC that may be needed it is the CS47L93 audio IC.
I found this info in the service manual i got via XDA.
So its now down to 3 chips. CS47L93 audio IC or Max98512 or WM8960
Could really do with some help here.
