Hello all,
Just bought this unit a few weeks ago. I updated it to the latest firmware, and everything is working great.
The only problem I am having is when I am on a call, the person that is talking to me voice is all distorted and modulated. The person on the other end can hear me just fine though.
I have already done a factory restore, that did not fix the issue. I am using a galaxy s7 with the unit. Is anyone else having this issue?

I have the same HU and phone. I tried a BT call the other day and had similar problems hearing the party on the other end. I called again using Skype and I could hear him fine; he could not hear me well which I attribute to other causes. FYI I'm using my vehicles oem mic which I interfaced on my own.

My phone recently updated to up to ICS 4.0.4. I think i had gingerbread before that. The issue is that my nexus S 4G worked perfectly with the factory bluetooth before the update. Call clarity on both ends was great and all the features worked as they should have. With the update, my phone automatically connects with the car fine, and even rings through the speakers when i get a call, as it should. The issue is when the person on the other end starts talking to me it is garbled (sort of like a robot voice but in a different language ) From what i understand, it is the same on the other end of the call. I brought my phone back in to Sprint and they reset it and told me if it doesn't work to contact Samsung. It did not work so i contacted Samsung and they want me to send my phone back in as if something is broken. Only issue is i can't go with out my phone so this isn't an option. Plus i think its more of a software issue where it got upgraded past what my car is capable of handling.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I've tried all i can think of and am willing to root my phone and do what ever it takes to fix it. If it matters at all, my car is a 2007 Infiniti G35x with the factory nav and bluetooth.
Thanks for any help!
Greg
Searched through most everywhere and found very few references to mic problems, but no solutions. My mic keeps dropping out during calls (not always, but often). If I switch to speakerphone the other end can hear me fine. It didn't do this for the first couple of weeks (month?), but then it happened 2-3 times in a row so I don't think it's a Sprint or tower issue. Now it's fairly regular.
I'm still stock, not rooted, so I may try doing a factory reset first, but this sure sounds like a hardware problem. But what confuses me is the speakerphone mic working. I thought the S4 only had one mic. If so, then it could be a software issue. Can anyone confirm it uses only one mic?
Thanks,
Greg
Hi, I recently started to have a call issue where people can't hear me over their phones. Seems to happen with iPhone users a lot. Doesn't matter if I call them or if they call me, the other person can't hear me, no matter how I position the phone or how loud I speak. But if I turn on speaker phone, than they hear me perfectly once again.
I tried disabling voice enhancement which seemed to help a little bit.
I was wondering if there was anyone else that is having a similar issue.
I am hoping this is something I can fix, and not a hardware issue like a broke mic.
I am rooted running Tmobile clean rom. No major mods or anything.

Hi, on my nexus 4, all of a sudden on phone calls, both the speakers and mic are not working, ie - i can't hear anything and the other party can't hear anything from me. however with other calling apps such as skype and viber it works flawlessly. i've tried to reboot the phone but that hasn't fixed the issue.
this only happened yesterday night, it's been working without issues since i bought it.
I have read of similar situations but not one decisive solution, so if anyone can help it'd be great.

cheers.

Got the 6P, love the phone, but Im having an issue. Whenever Im in a call, and Im using a wired headset/headphones (mic and earphones), I can hear the microphone. Meaning, I can hear myself. If I tap the microphone, I can hear it too. And the thing is, its much louder than the sound of the person Im on the call with. It makes calls quite frustrating because I can hear the mic rubbing up against my shirt more than I can ever hear the other person. Whats going on here? Anyone else have this problem? Ive tried several different mics and its all the same issue. Is this a problem with the phone? I just bought it, should I return it?
I don't have such issue but it was recently made aware that when using the speaker it causes "noises". Not sure if ota updates will fix it or not. If I were you and you are within the return policy, do it and order another one. Perhaps you got a lemon?
