I am on LOS 14.1 with root.
Has anyone else observed very hot phone temperatures after like continuously browsing apps.
Especially near the bottom of the phone around the backlit navigation keys. Please help.

I've had my elocity for a few months now and use it on a daily basis (with the dextor mod) and it's great except that lately I've noticed that the screen seems to be getting touchier. I mean, if I breath to hard it does false touches. Also, it just appears to do random touches sometimes (activated apps or bringing up menu in apps, etc..) ... it is getting to the point were it is starting to drive me a bit nuts. Anybody else experiencing this?
yeah, i've noticed excessive touch sensitivity at times, but its been off and on. i know having greasey/dirty/sweaty hands/screen causes lots of probs, so a clean screen is highly recommended.
i haven't put a screen protector on mine yet, but i suspect putting one on would give a slightly insulated layer to indirectly lower the touch sensitivity a bit. might be an idea.
the SGT2 gets hot on the left side when watching videos, anyone getting that issue? is that the battery or CPU? I am on stock no root

Left side in portrait or landscape? In portrait, you have the WiFi antennae, and if you're streaming video constantly (or doing any bandwidth intensive task), I could see it warming up there.
Thanks for the link, its left on portrait so, its the battery, the issue its coming up after officially updating the tablet yesterday, also the auto brighgness works terrible now
So, at some point in the past month (honestly, no idea for how long it's been going on), I've noticed an odd behavior on my OP2 and I'm trying to figure out troubleshooting suggestions to verify it is software and not a hardware issue.
TL;DR: I'm trying to figure out why the Back button occasionally fires on it's own.
Longer version:
I've only noticed this in a couple different apps, like Skype and Marvel Puzzle Quest, where the back button's effects are particularly noticeable.
The problem seems most prevalent in the morning, oddly enough. I rarely seem to notice it happen at night. I have verified I'm not touching the phone by playing MPQ with the phone on the counter and only touching the gems I wanted to match, no where near the bottom of the phone.
I've enabled the Pointer location in dev options, but it doesn't look like touching the non-on screen bar effects registers on the bar, so I can't tell if something else is firing it off that way.
Can anyone recommend some way to try to narrow this down short of just pinging OP support to do a hardware swap?
I'm having a touchscreen issue with thermal throttling on my essential: the touchscreen becomes completely unresponsive while the rest of the phone is functioning normally (active videos keep playing, the volume buttons perform the expected actions). When I hit the power button to turn the screen off and then wake up the device the touchscreen works - but only for a short time, seconds or less. It always happens when the phone is warm, but not nearly as lava-hot as my LG G5 or Galaxy S3 used to get. So I put the phone on an ice pack briefly, and the touchscreen always becomes responsive again.
I'm on build NMI64C.
This thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/essential-phone/help/agressive-thermal-throttling-t3672225) talks about overly-aggressive thermal throttling on the phone. This thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73692472&postcount=8) mentions "random" freezes that resolve temporarily after turning the screen off and on again. This thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/essential-phone/help/touch-screen-unresponsive-t3674192) talks about unresponsiveness, but it resolved for them after the update.
Anyone else having this issue, or any ideas how to fix besides carrying around ice packs?
Hello,
When I scroll down/left/right in my phone and hold my finger on display, the screen automatically shakes left and right or up and down (depending on how I was scrolling my device). This also occurs while charging and while moving an icon on home-screen. I had this issue previously with Asus Zenfone 3, Samsung Galaxy J7 and a HTC Desire (dont remember the exact model though) and a similar issue with iphone 6 (which was registering that my finger was moving on home button). Is this a software problem or hardware problem and how can I fix this ? I have read on web that many people are facing this issue on various phones. but couldnt find any solution yet. Is this my screen sensitivity/touch/display driver/ battery or something else ? If anyone could suggest something, would be really helpful.
Edit: Exactly the same issue as this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxysauxJ5Yk&feature=youtu.be but mine shakes a bit less, still annoys me while playing 8 ball pool and other aiming games like angry birds, etc.
Thanks
There is an app which you can use to test your touch screen by drawing on it. You'll be able to see exactly what it's registering. From what I've seen it happens on a lot of phones with bad digitizers. Try to get a warranty replacement.

Hello,
Sorry for delay. I went to service centre and they said that it is normal because of smooth and silky touch and slight movement of fingers. I explained him that it occurs more while charging and he had to take my phone for inspection.
Here is the correct video : https://youtu.be/PmQ2lra4RXU
My hand didnt have tremors. I agree that human hands are not 100 % stable, however, none of my other phones do it. And if my hand is shaking, then it should shake also while the phone is not charging. When I unplug my device, it stops shaking (almost stops), but when I replug it, it starts to behave weird again when I am holding finger stable. Also, this shaking will move your aim pointer in gaming and it really is annoying while play games with pointer moving.
Is it really normal that your pointer moves while your finger is stable on screen ?
