Can I flash SM-G935F into G935R4 device? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hi all masters,
I need help here. I live in Malaysia, this was a present an under US Cellular carrier. So I wish to change the firmware to the SM-G935F one. Is it possible? The specs should be the same right?

No, you can't. You could brick your phone flashing it.

If it has same CPU(In this case Exynos) then yes. But after googling it, it seems that the G935R4 has snapdragon. So do not flash anything. It shouldn't brick Your device as I've done a lot worse things lol. But nothing will work so don't do that.

Is it possible for International MODS to brick our phones?

Have a couple in mind that I wanna DL and flash..
Mod #1- Awesome framework animations.
Mod #2- 600 (not a typo) battery mods
Nope, it will bootloop if you you do not use the correct kernel. No hard brick. I used both of the mods on my ATT no issues what so ever. Nice actually.
Your ok.
Ax says, your welcome.

Much appreciated for the advice man.
Once again though lol.... so it is totally impossible for any international or other carrier mods/themes to totally brick your phone? The worse thing that could happen is a boot loop, correct?! That's great news to me if true. Now I can experiment hehehe...

I'm going to play the anything is possible card but you have a better chance of winning the Powerball than hard bricking from a mod or theme. Firmware is what you should never flash from another phone.

Downgrade to older bootloader and modem?

After almost 2000 posts to your credit and being on XDA since 2012, everyone is probably confused as to why you're asking and why you haven't tried already.
If K1 is not a locked bootloader, like we've now seen with the COJ5, you should be able too.
I've never seen anyone post not being able to flash back to an older modem. Unless it was user error like picking the wrong one, for a different phone.

I'm just too afraid of permanently damaging my phone.
Numbers do not matter, I still learn. Sure, I know more than someone new to the community but that doesnt change the fact that I dont know everything.
The person right above you has problems with his phone now. I'm just trying to prevent that from happening to me too.
Anyway, if I flash the COJ5 bootloader, there is no going back?

Odin Restore with AT&T SM-G930A G930AATT1APB5_User_Binary files NOT WORKING!!!!!!!!!!
Sooooooooo tried everything to restore my S7 AT&T SM-G930A with the "Supposed" G930AATT1APB5_User_Binary files that are floating around the threads. I'll answer the question "Why are you doing that?" first.
well because i am a flashaholic that gives ZERO **cks and is pissed off that this bootloader is locked and has OCD about flashing S*it. soooooo...... whatever. And yes.... I KNOW I shouldn't have bought a branded phone. But I did soooooooo..... Rant over, anyway, Figured I could try to flash the restore shizz just in case i ever needed it for some drastic reason or Just because i just wanted to flash ****. but to no avail Odin is giving this error on the phone itself while in Odin Mode, **Odin protocol version error!** tried it in Odin Mode with oem unlock switched on and tried it switched off. Nope same error. tried in the bootloader screen also with same settings, Nope same error. Sooooooooo not sure what is going on except maybe it has to be something with the lockdown of the phone. Just thought i would drop this info down here and see what happens.
Peace OUT!

Why are you trying to go back to pb5 when there are two newer FWs out? APF2 and APG1. I think I remember that people weren't able to restore to pb5 after updating to apf2. Could definitely be wrong about that tho.
Anyways, pg1 has wifi calling and advanced messaging.

I found out the fix by myself. I don't understand why nobody thought of it but here it is. All I did was reboot into recovery and factory reset the phone and my phone booted up like normal without root.
---------- Post added at 06:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:02 PM ----------
Now I'm trying to reboot it and I flashed the boot tar for it that I flashed in the first place to achieve root but everytime I download superuser it keeps force closing it...what am I doing wrong now lol. Like I must be the most unluckilest guy on the planet. This thing is a nightmare. Am I missing something after refreshing the rooted g935x boot .tar?

[FIXED] Soft-bricked Note 3 LTE (SM-N9005)

When I turn my phone on it goes into boot loop. I tried accessing TWRP but it's not good either, it would just show the startup screen and nothing will happen. I don't know how this happened because my phone was working perfectly last night before I slept. I didn't charge my phone so when I woke up the battery was drained. So I plugged in my charger and turn it on, it'll just go into boot loop just like what I said earlier. Please help. I have read that I should flash stock through Odin, but where can I find it? Please help. Thanks!

Thanks, I actually know that I have to go to that site to download the firmware, I just needed some confirmation haha! But this here is my real (stupid-ish) question, is it possible to recover/access my data? Will it be lost after flashing?
When my device was bricked a bit times... I flashed the firmware and all my data wasn't lost it just changed the system and did not delete any data... But make sure u only flash the firmware version that was present before u bricked your device....
MOST of the times it doesn't delete any data☺

Samsung Galaxy S5 Active Unlock Bootloader

Hi, guys. I recently got a phone from my grandmother. It's a Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. It's network provider is NTT docomo. My problem is the docomo apps, I want to get rid of them. How can I do that? Please go easy on me. I'm just a beginner.
Root is nowhere to be found at first glance for the SC-02G, so you have to look around and try to root it without bricking. Next get titanium backup and freeze the bloatware. There is no custom rom either.
Oh. But if I flash a new ROM, will the apps disappear? Or do I have to root before flashing?

You can't flash another ROM other than the stock ROM, which contains the DoCoMo apps. I am somehow envious of you because you have an NTT DoCoMo branded phone but you use it outside of Japan, because here i am in Japan with an European SM-G900F. And as how root is nowhere, tough luck. You *may* want to compare your device with the S5 Active, but as i know DoCoMo devices, it will not be even close.

Unfortunately you can't. Odin will not let you flash it. You might want to search for root. Are you sure its bootloader is locked? Because if it is, again, you might want to compare it to the SM-G870A. Try Kingoroot or some of the one-click root programs and see if you have any luck.
How will I know if bootloader is locked? I'm sorry. I really don't know anything. Huhu.

to be honest, neither do i. I have only owned unlocked bootloader devices. let's assume the bootloader is unlocked. there are no custom roms, and i suggested you use a one-click root solution to see if you can root the phone.
Okay. What program should I use? I see Odin and KingRoot as the most recommended.
