Volume Control Mod - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Here is something which I have been thinking about ever since
I purchased my very first Android phone....
So far all the android phones I ever had had one thing in common,
the volume control buttons did not change the volume evenly.
Turning the volume all the way up or all the way down is fine but
turning the volume up half way we can hardly hear anything at all.
Is it possible to create a mod which would solve this issue so when
we turn the volume up half way the volume would be half as loud as
when we turn the volume up to maximum loudness?
Thanks,
Have a nice day everyone!

Removing the OGG file has nothing to do with the issue I was
asking about.
Removing the OGG file would simply disable the "beep" sounds
while changing the volume of the phone, it will do nothing else.
I don't mind those little beep sound while adjusting the volume.
Think of it this way, OGG files are just like MP3 audio both of
which are audio files which can be played with the music player.
Good luck,
Have a great day!

Ok, sorry. My english is bad.

A mod like this is available for non touchwiz roms. Blame Samsung for doing god knows what to the audio stream code. Mods that change volume increments etc simply don't work

Did you reset the Cache and data of the musicplayer and the "Medienspeicher" (dont know the english name, but i suppose your german, too )
Go to Settings/Apps/All and go to your musicplayers and "medienspeicher" and stop them, reset all data and clear cache.
Then restart your devices. Worked for me.

Ringtones

I have an MP3 file and I'm trying to set it as the ringtone and I just can't get it to work. I put it in the ringtones file but it doesn't recognize it and says that the file type is not supported. Is there something I need to do to get it to work or does it just not like MP3s? Thanks.

OK to answer my own stupid question, as soon as I posted this I remembered the files in the ringtone folder were OGG files so I converted them to that and they work now. Maybe there's another way but at least I finally managed.

I transferred a number of ringtones from my Samsung Skyrocket over to the G2, put them in the Ringtone folder and none of them show to use as a ringtone.
I'll try converting them to OGG.
SO, I converted one of the files over from an MP3 (which I'd prefer not to do for time and because they take more room) to an OGG. I put it in the Ringtones folder, checked if it showed up in my sound settings to change ringtone, restarted the phone too...and it didn't show up. I've put ringtones onto many Android phones and never had a problem. What could I be doing wrong?

Moving ringtones

I am rooted and stock ROM in my S4. I have used Root Browser to move ringtones from the \ringtones folder of my extSD to the device itself. I moved them to \system\media\audio\ringtones. The problem is now those ringtones won't play unless I turn up the volume slider for media. Why? At first I thought it was because I had left them as mp3, so I downloaded Media Converter and changed them to ogg. All the other ringtones that came on the phone play fine, and they respond to the ringtones slider and not the media one. Interestingly, when they were on my extSD, the ringtones slider controlled their volume just fine. What's going on?

Mute sound in an app

Hello,
I would like to know if its possible to mute music in an app/game
And still listen to music
and if possible how to do it?
Thnx

If you look in the Setting menu, you will find sound controls where you can adjust the volume of different types of sounds e.g.
media volume
call volume
system volume
However the example you gave of music in a game and music from a music playing app are both going to fall under the same heading of media volume. Fortunately, many games have sound controls in the (game) app menu. Look in your games settings and adjust or mute the game sound there.
If you have bad luck and have a game where they don't let you customize the volume, you might be able to force the issue by starting the game first, then starting a better music playing app like Poweramp. In the Poweramp settings you can prioritize Poweramp e.g. audio focus, set high priority, et cetera that might allow Poweramp to override the game music.
Failing that, you would have to modify your game (theme) a sound edit or more pragmatically for most users, request that the game Developers add in game volume controls.
.
Thnx for explaining, some games too bad dont have this seeting to turn off music in games, but still many thnx for responsing and helping out
