Nexus 7 music player bug - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
Yesterday I've got my new Nexus7 3G.
But theire is one big problem. After I put music on my nexus, the music was shown in the music player. But after a while the player does not show the Songs. I can play the Songs over my file explorer, but the player say's 'no Songs on the device'
When i load the music again on the tablet the player shows it a while, but then it is away, too.
Can anyone help me?
Ps: sorrry my english isn't quit well.

Did you reset the Cache and data of the musicplayer and the "Medienspeicher" (dont know the english name, but i suppose your german, too )
Go to Settings/Apps/All and go to your musicplayers and "medienspeicher" and stop them, reset all data and clear cache.
Then restart your devices. Worked for me.

Market app: AudioTagger will help you change ID3 tags and album art.
MediaFix could also be of interest in repairing media library.

Go to settings>apps>media player and delete both cache and data. Then FC media player. Initiate a media scan somehow and it should work. Some media players you can do that from within the app. Others you'll have to reboot to start the scan.

I have all the .mp3 tracks for each album in a folder. Also in that folder is the cover picture labelled albumart.jpg. Try clearing the data in the Google Play Music app. That forces the player to rescan for music files.
There are apps on Google play store that can do it, such as 'album art grabber' etc

Music Player problems

Hi guys,
i have a problem connected with the sound.....
I need read a file, pdf or word, and in the same time hear something recorded..... impossible, when i switch from player to any other program, the music player stop.
I try explain what i do. I open an mp3 file with the player i found on nexus, or with vlc or winamp.... than with the right button, i pass to the list of task open... every program i switch to, can be even the setting menu, astro, pdf reader etc etc, the sound stop!!!!
If while the player is playing, i push the central button to go to the Home page of nexus, player stop!!!
is it a problem of me, or all nexus and android have such "Bug"?

I just tried this on my N7. I started Google Play Music playing local mp3's stored on the N7. I was able to then switch to the open tasks and choose one and the music kept playing. I was also able to touch the Home button and went to the home screen with the music still playing. I could start any other apps and the music still played. Not sure what is happening with yours. Are you sure you weren't streaming over wi-fi? I'm stock rom, rooted.
use this player
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5tYXhtcHouYXVkaW9wbGF5ZXIiXQ..
when you go out of the main app, it will make a player in the notification, making it able to play even on other apps...
hope it helps,
its free...

Artist art on Google play music?

Is there a way to choose an artist image for music stored locally on the device? (On the internal memory, not on the cloud ) I just get a blank space (see attached pic ) .

Use iTag from Play Store to download the album art, then go to Settings>Apps>Google Play Music and clear data. Then relaunch the app.
As for the artist art, I used to get them when I had the Walkman app (It just showed the artist art downloaded by Walkman) but since I flashed another ROM, I lost Walkman app and now I get blank space too

Right now the only way to get Google Music to display the Artist Art is to upload the music via the desktop (windows/mac) Google Music app :crying:
