Market app: AudioTagger will help you change ID3 tags and album art.
MediaFix could also be of interest in repairing media library.

Ok, in mediascape under the photo section "My photos" there is a "more" tab in the top right corner. In this section I have gone in and organized all my photos into albums. However there is also all of my music album cover art in this section as well. Is there any way to omit the album art? If I wanted to look at that id be in the "music" section of mediascape......right??
"id be in the music section"...well yes and no.
the images are for music so I can see your theory but at the end of the day the images are still that so willl be read as that by the app.
as for omitting them, sorry dude. . I gave up on mediascape when I got the phone!
Ok hopefully someone takes another look here as I have yet another question. Maybe not mediascape related though. Can you upload photos that you take with the phones camera to picasa web albums? I can see my albums in mediascape but so far cant seem to find any way to upload. Is this possible or is this yet another lame limitation of SE app being able to integrate with goggles? The latter would not surprise me seeing as even googles own services aren't seamless. So much potential, just not quite there yet.

Its not necessary to have a cover.jpg or folder.jpg in the music folders. write the Coverarts in the ID3 Tags and delete the jpgs, then they will be gone.
??? As for Picassa, just tap on photo, tap on mail icon, Picassa is one of the options.
As for music album covers, I use media Go to get the covers. Don't have folder for that on photo tab.

If you're using Google Apps, you can use Picasa Tool from the market to upload pics.
For album art, you can put the cover in the mp3 tag using pc or Album Art Grabber (had been discussed in other thread).
I got the majority of the albumart through mediascapes "get album art".
Ill try some of your suggestions.hopefully I can figure out what you mean. Thanks

I'm transferring music from my computer to the Galaxy S2 via Kies/Wifi but the album art for all the songs except two are the same. There seems to be no way to change the album art on the S2. In Kies I can see the tiny thumbnail when playing the song is the correct one.
Bug ?
I have this issue too, when your looking at the music in list format, the artwork is all differant, but when you play a file the bigscreen artwork is the same

2 Solutions although not a direct fix for your issue.
Firstly, download one of the Album Art Grabber apps from the market and update your album art. There are paid apps and free ones, all offer similar functionality. Auto Scan and change individual albums.
Secondly, buy PowerAmp. There's not much to say other than it provides the best Android music experience hands down. Aswell as offering a multitude of eq settings and options, it allows you to change individual album art on the fly.
Good luck.
Regards.
I managed to fix this so see if it works. With mp3tag you need to make the album title unique for each mp3 you want to have a unique picture. I had lots of single tunes and the album tag was blank. Because of this they all took on the same album art. If you make the album the filename which can be done as a batch process they all display ok.
My only problem is getting albums to play in track order, the SII always puts things in alphabetical order, very annoying for mix cds.
Thank you both.
I went for the MP3Tag option as that's what I've been using and it's worked fine !
thanks this fixed my problem as well
Hi thanks for the tips
Also my games and maps music automatically in my library, if i deleted them would that means my games/maps music also be deleted as well. or is there's a way to block them from go in the music library
Thanks,
Drew
Is there a way to choose an artist image for music stored locally on the device? (On the internal memory, not on the cloud ) I just get a blank space (see attached pic ) .

Use iTag from Play Store to download the album art, then go to Settings>Apps>Google Play Music and clear data. Then relaunch the app.
As for the artist art, I used to get them when I had the Walkman app (It just showed the artist art downloaded by Walkman) but since I flashed another ROM, I lost Walkman app and now I get blank space too

Right now the only way to get Google Music to display the Artist Art is to upload the music via the desktop (windows/mac) Google Music app :crying:
I want to hide album covers from the picture viewer so I use a .nomedia file in the 'root' folder where all my music is in per groups folders.
It works which is good
But it is also hiding the music from the music player (winamp).
Trying various things to 'get around' it and of course googling but does anyone know a 'solution'?
using standard 4.3 picture viewer.
Thanks
Just make a top level folder and call it Media, place all music in there.
This was a known quirk at least 4yrs ago.
What Android should have done and could maybe do in the future is have different kinds of .nomedia files.
Example.....
.nopictures
.nomusic
That's why i don't use the crap stock gallery App.
I use QuickPic and then I can hide the folders like Music or other folders with unwanted pictures
Nomedia files hide MEDIA
Music, pictures and videos is media

I used QP in the past but like features of stock gallery.
It also seems that the media folder solution is just a temporary thing
Stock gallery also has the hide feature but it doesn't actually work.
So still looking for a solution............
Open the Music app once so it will load those files. After that you can delete those files but the album art will still stay with the music.
Best way it seems is to embed the art into the music then can get rid of album arts.
is there anyway to get rid of album art displaying in the gallery? This is so annoying
So far, renaning cover art to folder.jpg does not work Adding a .nomedia file into a folder will cause the mediascanner to skip that folder (and all sub-folders) so they won't show up in the gallery app. Unfortunately, that also means the folder won't show up in the stock music player either. And content lock, well, is the long and annoying way. There used to be an option to hide individual folders in my g3 and g4. :/
Some have suggested to stop using gallery or google photos, but installing an app to get rid of a problem that shouldn't be there to begin with!
Man how has google let this go on for long. heck my old iphone 3Gs was able to tell apart from album art and cameraroll.
Irritating isn't it? you could try a program such as Music Bee to embed the artwork into the music files, that way you won't need a separate image of the album artwork. I hate not having decent album art on my music.

Irritating would be a euphemism :/ All my artwork is embedded, its just too much of a hassle to go through each and every folder and delete every file! That plus, to much music to waste time to ensure all the artwork is properly embedded
Strange, my artwork does not show in Gallery. Not using Google photos though.

But all my music is on micro sd card, nothing in internal memory.

You could add a new file in the folder called ".nomedia" , this also disables music players from recognizing the music files though.
You can still manually add the music files in any player that supports manual adding.

Yeah though it sucks having to add a third party app ( I like to keep things default) for something that shouldn't happen to begin with.
