Speakers dead - both phone speaker and ringer...

Hi everyone...
I just pulled out my headphone plug and now I can't hear any sounds over the Prophet's speakers - No ringtones, no system sounds, nothing. Not even the other person when I call someone...
Still works over headphones though...
So what's wrong? Is my headphone jack screwed?
Thanks in advance...
That is a commun problem with this equipment.
The spring on the plub doesnt work right with the time.
One solution is to to plub and unplug several times and then test it if it the the problem has been solved.
Prepare to buy a new headphones plug.
Thanks for the reply... so you're basically saying, there's a mechanical problem with the headphone jack? That's strange, because when I call the phone from a different one the ringer works fine. But when I call someone else from the Prophet, I can't hear a thing...
I think that the problem lies with a little metal pin/pad inside the jack hole on the prophet.
When you put the jack in, it depresses this little pin, and deactivates the speaker, earspeaker and microphone, and transfers that over to the headset. After a bit of usage, it appears that it can get stuck when you remove the jack, disabling the phone's speakers etc.
I find that shaking it/hitting it/ramming the jack in and out, whilst building up frustration, can remove stress. It also can have some effect on the problem.
I'm just waiting it out until my contract ends, and i get a new phone.
EDIT: Ah, and the prophet naturally rings out loud aswell when you have the headset in, so that's why you can hear it.
I had the exact same problem, I sloved it by rotating a pin inside the headphone jack and it is sloved the speaker worked. I inserted the headphone and it work thus i took it off and prophet worked as normal.
wish good luck 4 u

I had a similar problem earlier.Try putting ur headphone jack in and out a few times, this generally sorts out the problem. It has to do with a small pin in the headphone socket which diverts the sound to the headset when it is plugged in and the pin has to come back in position when the headset is disconnected. What happens is that the pin gets stuck,so even when u disconnect the headset,it still diverts the sound to headset mode.PM me for more details.

headphone jack loose/defective

Last night listening to music I noticed my head phones were crackling. I checked the head jack and noticed it was very loose. When I barely tapped the headphone connector left to right I'd lose audio and playback would switch to the speakers. Sometimes the noise cancellation notification would pop up. I'm really disappointed, since it's only been a month. Sony says repairs could take as long as a month.

Must have been unfortunate coincidence, I use headphones regularly, no problem..
Try Gold plated jack

I had the headphone jack and usb port do weird stuff too, try blowing a compressor in there or cleaning it with a toothpick. The phone collects dust in those holes and the dust doesn't let the connectors engage properly, leading to a spotty connection.

headphone jack ????

and am having problems with the earpiece speaker and or headphone jack.
Alot of the time I have no sound in call from earpiece speaker and need to use handsfree speaker to hear voice.
If I push a headphone plug in and out quickly alot the sound will come back to earpiece speaker.
I thought it might be the headphone jack but it seems to happen after using bluetooth tto listen to music as well as after using headphones.
Sometimes the sound will be very low from earpiece then become normal all of a sudden.
Running latest stock and bootloader unlocked and rooted.
Is there a wired headphone icon on status bar? My ze552kl asumed it was plugged in even though it's been pulled out. Try using a good cottonbud, apply few drops of alcohol to clean up the contact, it'll work almost instantly. Good luck.

No headphone detection, static sound on left side

Recently I was trying something with 3.5mm cable and that was big mistake :crying:
I plugged 3.5mm cable from my phone to faulty hi-fi system (didnt know). There was probably electro shock and now my 3.5mm jack won't recognize headphones.
Also there is static sound on my left speaker of headphones when I plug my headphones (I tried other headphones).
Replaced 3.5mm jack on my phone but problem still remains.
Music normaly plays through speakers of my phone or bluetooth. Means that audio chip is fine, I think.
Anybody knows what I can do except going to repairman? I dont have warranty & guarantee.
Thanks
