Hi There...
I've owned this phone for two days and i am having some issues with the use of my 3G data connection.
I can only get 3G connection when restarting the phone, when i get to an area where i lose the connection, it does not reconnect.
Not even areas where i never had problems with my HTC Hero having 3G connection (my apartment).
As soon as i restart the phone i reestablish connection to the 3G network and it works flawless, right until the connection is lost again.
I live in the central of Copenhagen where i always should be connected.
I've tried several APN managers to activate it, but without luck.
I've entered the testing area by pressing *#*#4636#*#* and taken some photos to give more info in the phone.
Hope someone can help me.
Just some basic questions:
Did you install any apps recently? Or made some changes in the settings?
If yes go to:
Applications > Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset

Hmm... it seems to work, thanks!.
The app i installed right before this occurred was "JuiceDefender", i'm just gonna avoid this app for now.
Thanks again!.
my galaxy tab p1000jpjpc gives WIFI error--installed new rom,did factory reset but still WI FI give me error
if you want people to help, at least explain what is your WI FI error.
Did it turn on?
Can you see your access point. If not, can you see other's access point.
Or you can see it but cannot connect. Do you have security set in your router? MAC address access list in use? WPE/WPA/WPA2 ? Hidden SSID in use?
Or you seems connected but can't access internet. Did you get an IP address?
every thing is okey,my setting, my access point and my router. the problem is that when i press the WIFI icon to turn on,it give me error and never turn on, even after change the router and the WIFI network, never turn on even after installed new rom, and new route and factory reset
Go to Recovery and wipe cache. If rooted wipe Dalvic cache also.
If problem persists-
Reflash stock GB ROM and try.
first of all,sorry for annoying.
second, after every thing, the WIFI still give ERROR
Hi. I had this same issue. My solution was an app in the market called Fast Reboot. This closes and restarts all running programs. This seems to clear whatever was blocking the wigi from coming on.
If you have Tasker you may wish create a Task (and perhaps a widgit) to run the apply then switch wifi on. I have a profile that does this whenever I approach my home, and when my Tab is rebooted.
still ERROR
What if you switch off 3G, then fast reboot, then switch on wifi?
Thank u my friends for ur replies. I already solved the problem as it was hardware and changed the IC partition of WIFI
hello,
i have the following problem with wifi on my zopo zp 700: it connects to our home- wifi, but only grey connectifity stripes, not the blue ones i get usually. it says "connected" but internet doesnt work.
when im at work the wifi works fine.
i started the dignostic tool by dialing*#*#4636#*#* and found out that there are 2 configured versions of our home wifi there, one with keymgmt (ID9) and one without (ID10).
it seems that the phone connects to the wifi without kegmt and this causes the problem. when i disable the network with ID10 (the one without keymgmt) it works until i switch off the wifi and on again. then the network with ID10 (and all others that i had disabled before are enabled again)
as there are several other networks that i dont know but seem configured in this list, i wanted to know how i diable or delete these unwanted networks from the list of configured wifis?
thx in advantage and best regards,
nick
Try to factory reset your wifi or gateway
Sent from my GT-I9105P using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
How do you do that? I opende the engineer mode but did only find different testing modes for wifi..
Reset button or something like that on your wifi device. Let use them to reset to factory
Make an hard reset :good:
This might be a stupid idea, but can you not just go into Wifi settings, pick your home network name, and select 'Forget'?
Make sure you forget all you want it to forget (i dunno if it will list it twice or not)...
Then re-do the settings with correct password...fixed?!?
You should check if you get an ip address from your wifi router.
Help!!! After update to 7.0 my phone has trouble connecting to WiFi. It's not mynetwork because other devices connect and it happens at my workplace too. I've tried clearing the partition cache, restarting it and forgetting the WiFi. Even putting it into airplane mode for a few minutes. I'm not very techie so please keep keep answer easy to understand.
I think I fixed it. I went to my Google account and there was a way to restore my wifi settings.
My wife's G4 has been having the same issue... I cannot get it to reliably connect to any wifi network. Very occasionally it will connect but it only lasts for a few minutes before dropping again. Most of the time it just doesn't see any wifi networks available. I've tried resetting to factory, I've reset default networks under wifi settings, I even applied the new system update that came out yesterday, and still no luck. This is very aggravating. Anyone have any ideas?
Ok, so I have a us997 LG G6, and it refuses to connect to my home 5ghz wifi (NETWORK_SELECTION_DISABLED_ASSOCIATION_REJECTION=1), its done this on nougat and oreo, i figured it was something wrong with the wi-fi radio/chip, whatever, but today I looked into it more, get ready, because hopefully someone can explain this on to me...
1. If I try and connect to my home's 5GHz wifi it has the error "NETWORK_SELECTION_DISABLED_ASSOCIATION_REJECTION=1" then the network disappears completely. (Wi-Fi analyzer shows nothing on 5GHz)
2. (at this point i tried to see if it was all 5GHz networks or just my router, so i started a hotspot from another android phone (Galaxy s5) and connected to it, and BOOM, connects right away (5GHz, channel 149, 'Very good' signal strength (makes sense, the devices are within a foot of each other), ok.
3. So I set my router to channel 149 and connect to it, it connects but has very poor signal strength, despite being no more than 3 feet from the router... honestly, i'm lost now, so I figure ok...
4. I turn off the hotspot on the s5... and IT DISCONNECTS (from the home network), and then the home network disappears... honestly, what... so now i am completely lost, I just want my 5GHz wifi. please help XD
(any other device i try connects completely fine to my home network...)
(AND on top of this all, I can make a hotspot on the G6 on 5GHz and it works just fine, devices connect with proper speed and 5GHz band!)
edit: If i am connected to ANY wifi network (5GHz or not) the 5GHz home networks shows up, but it still cant connect, when i disconnect from all networks, it disappears again)
TEMPORARY SOLUTION:
Disable WiFi
Go to the service menu (us997: *#546368#*997#) (h870: *#546368#*870), goto field test > WiFi test > select 'core both'. Press start
Go to the root of the service menu again, goto FTM test > select 5.0GHz, press start, you should see a 'Start Successful' message.
Exist the service menu enable and disable WiFi a few times, and that should fix it... Thanks to: cabal06ba for solution!
I don't know the details but when I unboxed and rebooted G6 for the first time, it didn't catch the 5 GHz signals either. I've searched some and found out that this was a common issue. Some people said "restoring the phone to the factory defaults" solves the problem. I've immediately done a restore process and 5 GHz is working like a charm now.

I've reset my phone a bunch of times between updates and rooting mishaps, and nothing (not in the mood to do it again), i will try resetting network settings.
edit: resetting network settings didn't do anything...

Network Settings Reset didn't do the trick for me either but with help of your first post edit I've found a fix (long-term functionality not yet approved):
1) Go to phone and dial *#546368#*870# to enter the hidden menu
2) Go to field test > wifi test > OTA
In my case it was disabled and enabling solved the problem! (actually I don't even have a clue what this setting is exactly for, found out through trial and error)
3) Then went one step back, entered FTM test, set 5GHz, started and boom, "start successful"! (before it had failed)
4) Finally I went back to regular WiFi-Menu, was switched off so had to turn it back on, no networks, off an on again, 5Ghz was back and still is after several reboots + resetting network settings once again to double check.
Hope that works for others as well!
Don't have an WiFi hotspots that are 5ghz near me now, I will test later, but I have tried using the WiFi test to enable 5ghz before and it didn't work
Edit: Well it said start successful, so hopefully it worked (BTW if you are on a us997 device replace the 870 code in the number with 997)
Edit 2: Devcheck reports '5Ghz support: yes', previously it reported no. Thanks!
Edit 3: Still does not stay after disabling WiFi
Also Even after a factory reset, still stuck on 2.4G
(Cant attach image for some reason, Error 500)
Without a registered SIM card, wifi works at the lowest common denominator on the G6: 2,4ghz channels up to 11 and 5ghz 36 to 48.
So where mobile signals are too weak, wifi is also limited.

I have a registered SIM, I'm on Verizon, Mobile signal is weak everywhere but standing outside a tower because its Verizon...
Once the phone had been registered with the provider, wifi is fully supported even w/o mobile network. Provided the SIM stays in and you don't perform a factory reset.
I had to get a nano sim in order to use my G6. It "unlocked" my G6's wifi, but i continued to use my trusty S5 for a while, so the G6 reverted to bad habits.
Part of the G6's antennae are in the metal frame, but i don't know which ones. These work best while kepping gripped, with no insulating case. While not bridging them all electrically with your hand, which is no good.
The first device with frame antennae, the Iphone 4 had to be modified for this reason. The first batch required the use of a rubber case or frame.
In my case, 5GHz did not work as long as the bootloader was unlocked. Even after I reinstalled the original OS via LG Bridge / Repair. Once I re-locked the Bootloader again, the LG6 connected to 5GHz.
I hope there is a way around this. Probably this behaviour don't apply to custom roms.

I'm still having the same issues, doesn't matter if it's stock ROM or custom , really don't want to relock my bootloader.
