Help!!! After update to 7.0 my phone has trouble connecting to WiFi. It's not mynetwork because other devices connect and it happens at my workplace too. I've tried clearing the partition cache, restarting it and forgetting the WiFi. Even putting it into airplane mode for a few minutes. I'm not very techie so please keep keep answer easy to understand.
I think I fixed it. I went to my Google account and there was a way to restore my wifi settings.
My wife's G4 has been having the same issue... I cannot get it to reliably connect to any wifi network. Very occasionally it will connect but it only lasts for a few minutes before dropping again. Most of the time it just doesn't see any wifi networks available. I've tried resetting to factory, I've reset default networks under wifi settings, I even applied the new system update that came out yesterday, and still no luck. This is very aggravating. Anyone have any ideas?

Hey guys,
Ive been having some issues with my wifi calling app. At first I was thinking that its my router, so I got a brand new one today, and I still keep getting the same error over and over again. It would be nice if anyone knows how to fix this.
So here is my problem - I turn on my wifi calling /I have it set to Wi-Fi Preferred. Also, I have set the wifi to never go to sleep. And it all works great, until the screen turns off. So the screen turns off, and wifi calling is still working fine for the first 3-4 mins, but right after that - it disconnects. I looked around in the error log, I keep getting 3 different errors all the time :
W005.1 ISP Error Retry
W005.2 ISP Error Retry
W006.25 ISP or T-Mobile Network Error
I believe that it has something to do with the screen going off. This keeps happening on CM7 RC1, CM7 nightlies, Stock Rom... Just all over the place. And having wifi calling is the main reason I got this phone, as it is very very important for me, because I have little-to-none signal at my home office, and I keep missing important customer calls.
Please, someone help me out.
Thank you.
Just a shot in the dark here I had something kinda the same. But have your tried clearing the data for wifi calling in the Settings> Applications>Manage Applications? also try clearing your cache and dalvik cache.
I had a issue where wifi became the only signal i had and a app wipe fixed it.
If none of that works go to a t-mo store and tell em you broke your simcard and need a new one. May be an issue with the t-mo network not fully recognizing your sim for the voip.

Yeah I just did all that, I will update if it works.
It might of been my router tho, because I just got a wireless repeater today (as my signal from the router is not very strong), so that kept happening only with the wireless repeater. I moved back to the router only - problem is somewhat solved. It just randomly disconnected my while talking a few minutes ago.
Quite possible it is your router i remember the router i had, had a problem like that where every dhcp refresh it would disconnect all clients. May want to try and see if you particular router has any firmware updates.
I tried searching and I've not found this issue addressed, but I may just be doing it wrong. But, here it goes anyways...
This house has 3 T-Mobile G2s, all with the same OTA. Only mine is rooted. However, none of them will stay connected to wifi. The wifi icon is showing up and it says that I am connected to the access point, but in status it says that mobile network status is disconnected. I can't do anything data related after it times out. If I disable and re-enable wifi it stays connected for a bit before it goes dead again. The handset doesn't go into sleep/screen doesn't turn off. Before I updated I did a Factory Data Reset, then re-entered all my information then let it update. Is there anything I can do, or try?

Being that all 3 phones cannot stay connected I'd be inclined to say look at your router... I'm assuming you've done all the obvious things like reboots, battery pulls, "forgetting" your network and then re adding it? Are other devices in the home able to maintain a wifi connection... your computer, for example? You've tried resetting your router?
If the screen isn't timing out, have you checked your Display settings? What makes you think the screen timeout is related to the wifi problem?
Well in the past on my myTouch 3g... wifi at times would get wonky after the screen timed out/it went to sleep. So was just adding that information here. Yeah, there are at least 8-9 other wifi devices here that can connect to the router just fine and send/receive data. I've tried "forgetting" the access point and then re-adding it, resetting the router, battery pull... and the same thing happens. And the router doesn't have MAC address filtering either. Can't ping google.com or 72.14.204.105 from the phone, but my pc can just fine. If I disable wifi it works as it should. Its just I only have realllly slow EDGE service in the house.

Hmm... by default wifi should turn off when the screen times out. Unless you've changed the wifi sleep policy. I had mysterious wifi trouble before on a different device (endless "obtaining ip address" loops) and the only thing that worked for me was restoring an older nandroid. Obviously, you're no longer rooted and that's not an option... but it's super unusual that 3 G2 phones are experiencing the same problem. And they're all running the Gingerbread update, so maybe that's the common denominator. I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful. I'd definitely pay T-Mobile a visit.
I've not messed with the wifi policy, but my last phone would just drop wifi completely and I had to forget/re-enter everything to get it back. If it was the update then I would think the problem would be more widespread. Going to try fiddling with the router some more since that would most likely be where the issue lies. All else fails will just rollback to an earlier nandroid, like you had to do, and seeing if I can't get at least mine consistent. Thanks for your help and letting me bounce ideas off of.
I have a Xoom MZ601 from Hong Kong, running Tiamat-Xoom-Rom-2.2.2.Moray
It was working OK until a few days ago. System boots up ok. I can open programs and settings. However, as soon as it hooks to a wifi network, it reset itself.
I've tried pulling the SIM card and micro SD in and out.
I've played around the frequency (Tiamat settings)
I've tried uninstalling all programs I installed in the last few days.
... and still no luck.
Any idea anyone?
Did you try wiping in recovery and starting over?
Sorry to thanks too late, I was overseas.
Thanks for the advise. I've tried that and still the same problem.
Somehow, it happens when the tablet loses the Wifi signal. It reset itself. After it re-start, it keeps reseting itself when connecting to my home network.
I managed to make it work by going to setting quickly and disabling the wifi.
The only way to make the wifi to work again is turning off my wireless modem, then let the tablet boot up and fail to connect to any wifi. I will then turn on my modem, "et voila" it works again.
Very Strange glitch.
Any one have similar issue?
I don't know if my issue is related to the Wifi or not, but mine has been randomly rebooting constantly! I can't pin-point exactly a cause, however, I've tried to factory reset it many times to no avail...
I'm thinking now it could be the modem.
I'm using the Dynalink RTA1046VW. I'll try playing with it.
For the last week or two I have been unable to connect my phone to wifi networks.
At first the problem would be that I was getting disconnected from any wifi network I joined, now I can't connect at all.
The wifi networks page sometimes (not always) does not detect a strong network even if I am standing a few feet away and the phone has previously connected and other APs are connected and working like my pc
If I try to connect then I get the "Connecting" status followed by "Saved, secured"
I have searched the internet looking for a fix to this and tried wiping the cache partition, forgetting the network, airplane mode toggling on and off, apps that wipe the known network list and some others including lastly a factory reset on the phone but nothing seems to remedy the issue.
From the wifi router I have tried using an unencrypted (open) connection
Now I think I may also be having problems with the bluetooth connecting in the car but I haven't had a chance to really investigate that one yet and it may or may not be related to the last factory reset.
My phone is not rooted.
Build no. LRX21T.G870AUCU2B0F3
kernel3.4.0-4443965

Can anyone offer any assistance to my current issue ?
Alan
I have just confirmed that the Bluetooth in my car is not detecting my phone when it scans (the phone bt is switch on and the visible box being checked) so that's both radios with similar issues.

Im having same issue with wifi... sm-g900r4
I just stumbled on a clue, while using an app called 'wifi cleaner' there is a feature allowing you connect to wifi networks within the app. I type in the password, authenticating is shown on the screen followed by "incorrect password".
I know the password to be correct..
Mmm

I was wondering if you ever got this issue fixed?
I thought I had but the problem comes back in a different way.
Sometimes wifi connects but only connects at 5 mbps.
Now wifi will not turn on at all. ( radio button is greyed in settings)
I did find a thread on xda where some Motorola users were having the wifi off issue and it was due to a missing system file which could be replaced on a rooted device. However I don't have root on my s5 g870a and it's not likely I can get it.
Hello everyone!!!
I am facing an issue of my wifi connection with my home/office network after a security patch update of nougat 7.0.
Whenever i turn on my wifi, it connects with the saved networks, but after some time (which is random) it disconnect itself from that saved network. Then i have to reconnect it again and sometimes i have to give password for the saved network to reconnect. After a certain time wifi do not connects to my wifi adapter. my wifi modem is fine, and is running fine with other devices.
i am having this issue after update of security patch.
Can anyone help me to fix this issue, i have tried clearing cache partition and resetting my network settings and also i have turned off wifi scanning in location settings but nothing helped.
Please see if something can fix this issue ..
Thank You.
Same Goes To My Phone
Welcome to the new upgrade! I have the same issues that you described in addition to my Bluetooth. If I reset my phone Bluetooth doesn't come back on, I have to manually turn it back on...plus it has a bad habit of disconnecting even in the middle of phone calls. Whoever QA'd Nougat for the Droid Turbo 2 should be fired! I'm hoping for another upgrade to possibly fix these issues as I am stuck with this phone for almost another year (have 3 total) but I'm not holding my breath.
