There is a dual boot as well but its not that good I'd like to be able to switch ROMs like I'd switch users for the phone

You need to call T-mobile and request the Unlock code by giving them you IME or just by it online from some trusted source ~20$.

Haha, no!
Can you get into recovery? turn the phone off then hold down the power + home button. If you can, just do a factory reset and see if it helps. What did you do before the problem started?
i was trying a mod

That still doesn't answer the question. What were you trying to do (ex. flashing a rom, flashing spl, etc.....) If you cant get into recovery or bootloader you have a paperweight.

What rom? Did it involve installing a new SPL?
was trying a CyanogenMod. After I turned it on it never did boot into the phone.
thanks,

If all you did was try to flash the rom check the MD5sum and make sure it was a complete download and then try to flash again. Can you still get into recovery or bootloader?
no i can't even get into the recovery or bootloader, i think i'am just going to have to bite the bullet and buy a new phone. unless rogers can fix it for me for a price,lol......
Did you go straight to 4.2.5 or did you have a previous version of Cyanogenmod? You probably didn't flash the HTC image first. read the first page of the Cyanogen thread.
I am trying to learn the basics in the shortest amount of time and I thought I shall start here. What is a bootloader? and how do you go about getting a cracked one? That will enable custom kernel if I am not mistaken right?

Wikipedia explains better than I do but the short version is that the bootloader is the first thing the phone itself starts when you power it on. After it's loaded it checks the internal storage on the phone and if it finds an OS it boots it.
There are some checks built in to the loader to make sure that the OS is the one Sony supplies, if those checks fail it won't boot. We need to find those checks and disable them before we can use custom ROMs.

It's impossible to say exactly how close they are, it could take anywhere from a few more days to several months. But they are working on it and it seemed to be going well last time I checked. Although there hasn't been a lot of progress reports lately so they're either stuck or they're working really hard.

:O lol XD I want PS groove on x10i but you need a custom kernel to disable usb ;P

Oo Thanks to all the dev who trying to crack the bootloader!
We are counting on you=)
wanna use it with a vodafone sim..
do i have to unlock it before rooting or is rooting enough?
and.. will 3g work on other simcards?
If you want to use it with other carriers, you have to get it unlocked. Rooting wont do anything for that

Rooting has nothing to do with unlocking. Doing one will have no effect on the other

Hi to everyone, I had been searched for dual boot option for my D800, but I couldn't find any. If any of you have any information about dual boot for D800. I want to use stock and Lollipop on the same device.
Please advise me. Thanks in advance.
I haven't seen any dual boot options for the D800, or for any other Android phone, for that matter. Good luck with that.

I usually just flash different backups from twrp for each rom. Only do this at night just to have it ready by the morning.
