another app2SD thing after flashing a new rom?
well then you know more then me. If you can get into bootloader you should be able to get into recovery mode. You can also toggle USB mode, so you can be connected to your comp. In that case you can push a recovery image.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611829
you can also wipe
etc
its all in that thread or somewhere else on this forum

Any updates? same thing happened to me.
If in doubt then reflash everything again;
boot
system
and recovery
and start afresh.
see thats the thing,, i can click recovery from the bootloader screen and nothing happens. It will restart and just sit on the same "X" screen. Its very simple to put a phone into a DFU mode or recovery mode for Iphones,Motorolas, blackberry, nokia, samsung,Lg, and a few more i cant think of at the moment. When these phones become corrupt ive learned how to whatever firmware or software i want on dumb thing.. But this HTC is giving me a hard time and i know its something simple.. Most phones have a desktop software that will allow you to mess with phones programming, Itune-iphone/Blackberry-BB desktop Manager/motorola-RSD lite....ect. BUt i cannot find anything really for the HTC or just this N1. A lot of these programs for other brands, once you plug your phone in, will notice that the phone is in a recovery state and offer to do an update or a restore. Now why doesnt the N1 or do they, does google offer something like evryone else does?

hmmm I understand your frustration. What did you do before it got to the 'X' splash screen?
I'm assumimg you've tried to reflash a different ROM in recovery mode?

The SDK can do that
like the others said, try get into recovery and reflash everything
SDK? i just turned the phone on and its stuck on the "Splash" screen just a big ol "X". I press volume down and power and pull up the bootloader menus.. i scroll down to recovery and press enter. and it reboots and stays at the damn "x" screen again. I've chosen everyone of the options it offers in that menu and nothing changes.. You know how when u first open that menu it will scan the SD card? Well it shows up for a second then goes away, and in the split second the green lettering is on the screen i swear it says "no splash image" or something like that. UHHHHhhhg!
Hmm I forgot how to get to get to recovery using physical buttons, sth like: power + trackball, or volume down + trackball i guess, so try that
So it looks like your phone is not rooted and you don't have Amon_Ra recovery maybe you have not even turned on USB debugger? tough luck friend
All is not lost if you can get into fastboot mode trackball and power together then using adb reflash boot, system and recovery images.
Or call Customer Service and trade in for a new Nexus One
if not you have to download the SDK http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
find stock images and reflash like the above post said

agreed....if you haven't "unlocked" the bootloader then i wouldn't bother with any of the suggestions....Call customer care and get a new one before you un-lock it and this mysteriously happens again...THEN, you'll be S-O-L!!
EDIT: Then with the new one, follow all the threads for un-locking, flashing recovery, nand, flash cyan, flash gapps LALALA
DOUBLE EDIT: Althought it sounds all you've done is messed up the recovery image, which you could re-flash. Then you could get into recovery and flash Cyan, having a functioning phone again
Hi everyone, I'm a new member to the forum, but have been a follower for quite some time.
Let's start by introducing my device wich is:
EEEPad Transformer TF101G with ICS running the latest WW_9.2.2.6 firmware.
The device is rooted and running ASUS stock recovery.
Everything was working fine until I decided to do a Cold Boot.
It got stuck on the cold boot menu for like 3 hours and I decided to turn it off.
After that it got stuck on the inicial Asus splash screen. I forced it to turn off a couple a times and it eventually booted up.
I knew something wasn't right, so I backed up all my files and applications.
Then decided to do a factory reset through POWER + VOL-
After that it never booted again, and after a few seconds on the splash screen I hear a click noise, like the hard drive is turning off.
When I try force it to turn off, it starts up again automatically.
I've tried to flash it through nvflash, but being a TF101G it also means it is sbkv3, wich is not supported by nvflash.
Also tried boot recovery tools, but it won't even start, because as I try to connect it to the computer through adb mode, after that "click" noise, the device becomes disconnected.
I didn't try any dangerous applications and stuff like that, just decided to do a simple cold boot, the device is a week old.
If I'm posting this in the wrong section I apologize.
And hope someone can come up with a good idea.
Thanks in advance.
Obviously somethings corrupted and in my opinion the only way to fix it would be to reflash the rom in apx mode using nvflash but that doesn't seem to be possible for your device as of yet but if everything is still stock maybe you can unroot the device (or play dumb) and get it replaced under warranty?
I don't think I can unroot it, since it won't run abd mode.
I'm trying to find a way of not having to send it to warranty.
Saving it as a last resort...

Eek.. since it was factory resetted I think you need to send it to warranty. Not much we can do now with just a splash screen on sbkv3
I don't consider myself an advanced user.
But I really did search everywhere and I got the idea that only with APX and without a compatible NVFlash I was screwed.
But I still had some hope.
Do you think they will give me trouble because of it being rooted?
I my opinion I don't think they will ever know, because It won't boot, It won't run recovery mode (stock) and nothing else at all, the only way to fix it is to flash it, but maybe I'm just being naive.
I treated it with all the care in the world, so only by divine intervention it is a hardware problem.
But you never now...
you should be ok (should)......
i done pretty much the same thing to a customers TF and Asus fixed it no problem.
The fact is that I actually didn't do anything wrong.
Just a cold boot that didn't work, followed by a a factory reset...
How long did it take for yours to get fixed?
My a 500 went into apx mode on its own about 4 months ago. I have searched and searched for a way to get it out. Please help! It is not modded in any way, completely stock. I do not have the cuid. I simply want to use my tablet again. It is black screen no vibration. The power button lights up when turned on and it charges. It will not reset with the reset button and a hard reset does nothing. ... No response. I have tried afterotas unsoftbrick and it simply hangs at flashing recovery. If anyone has suggestions I would be quite grateful. Thanks in advance.

You could try reflashing an EUU. (Can't remember for sure, but, don't think you need your CPUID to flash an EUU.
If your tab has ever been plugged into your USB port, you can use USBDEVIEW to find you CPUID, or just search for CPUID, and you will find many different ways to recover it.
I have been stuck in APX Mode several times where it seemed nothing could help. All posted fixes seemed to fail. Then I tried babsector, (I believe a mis-spelling on bad sector) and everything was good again. (I could flash EUU's, ROM's, etc.) Difference maybe though, I caused my tab to go into APX, by errors in flashing, (If I remember correctly, I tried flashing a new ROM on an unrooted tablet, and the result was APX.) This may or may not help you, but, nothing to lose, right.
Alright, so I've got an LG E617G from Bell Aliant, a mobile carrier in Canada. I know it's rooted and it's the most up-to-date OS I could possibly get for this phone, stock, but I can't check the OS at the moment, or at least in a way I know of. I went to reset the phone to factory default settings and it gets stuck in this boot loop. I shut down, boot it back up. Now the boot screen sound doesn't finish properly and it just is stuck in a loop.
I tried to do a hard reset/forced recovery mode thing (Volume Down + Power then go to holding Home only when the LED on the bottom of the screen light up) and that didn't work. Same broken sound and stuck loop. Thinking that the charge might have something to do with it (It was at about 7% when I tried to do the initial reset. Stupid, I know, but I was drunk).
I just tried to do the same hard reset/forced recovery mode thing and that didn't work, same boot screen problem. I searched on the forums here as well as online and the only information that I've gotten is that the L5 is the closest well known representation of the LG E617g so I'm hoping you guys can help.
It should also be known, I did give ES File Explorer root access the day prior to the reset in an attempt to change the actual font. That didn't work so I tried 2 different applications that I found information on. iFont and Font Installer. I tried something with Font Installer and it didn't work so I installed iFont (without uninstalling Font Installer) and installed a font there. That didn't seem to work so I just ignored it. Then I noticed that the font had changed but only on Facebook apps. This was why I wanted to do the reset, to get rid of this font nonsense. Now I think I may have just ****ed it all up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ask what you need of me, if you do need anything, and tell me a quick way of possibly finding that information or linking to a tutorial how and I will get back to you ASAP. Thank you for the patience and help guys.

I have since solved the problem. I downloaded and installed all drivers again, ran the LG Mobile Support Tool and on the top menu bar I went Customer Support > Recovery and put my IMEI in and hit check. Got my info and another pop up came up. Downloaded the data for my phone (I had to run it in Download mode. I took out battery, held up and down volume while plugging it in the PC, run this recovery mode. I'd fail the recovery mode but then I'd just run the program part again on the computer while keeping it in plugged in.) and installed it. Worked fine after that.
Thanks a lot for this detailed solution!

Ah, no problem. I spend most of my time looking at forums that talk about my exact problem but never a solution. Just wanted to make sure that if anyone ends up with my problem that my fix worked.
Hello everyone,
Long time reader for time poster. I have this device that is stumping me, and I was hoping with your help I can get to the bottom of its issue.
i am not going to describe everything that I had done as that would take pages and pages, but there is one aspect that I feel might be the crux of the problem so I will start with that and see if it leads us anywhere.
Basically this device was working, sat in a drawer for a while, the battery dried up, and since it wasn't able to boot into android, it always gets stuck at the htc logo screen.
I have tried flashing it using the sd card method, with the newest corresponding zip that I could find, it started doing its thing, then at some point restarted, got stuck again, and I ended up with an unknown radio and dsp (looking at the infos in download/recovery modes)
I don't know the history of the device, but i don't believe usb debugging or oem unlocking were turned on. and obviously I can't check or modify them as I can't get into the device. and it is currently locked and S ON.
Currently, I can boot into recovery/download no problem:
- I can easily detect and interact with the phone through fastboot, but not through adb.
- clearing cache and factory resetting go through fine, no errors, but again after restarting the device it gets stuck at the htc logo.
- if I try to flash through the SD card, it starts normally, then restarts and gets stuck at the htc logo.
- if I try to flash anything through fastboot, I get an error telling me the device is still locked, which it is.
- if I try unlocking using fastboot (following the official htc method), once again it starts normally, but then restarts and gets stuck at the htc logo again.
Correct me if I am wrong, but it feels to me like this is a software issue, that for the hell of me I can't seem to be able to get around.
I tried to keep the post simple, so if any additional information is needed, or tests you'd want me to run please don't hesitate to ask.
Thank you for your help, much appreciated!
Hello again, just a little bump. As I am stuck and any ideas would help.
