Not sure how you manage to get 60000 there.
Yes, on KK was <50000, on LL/MM was about 50000, and on NougatPreview4 saw it even 52000, but your number is way out there.
Can you show us a PCMark Work 2.0 result and a 3DMark ES 3.0 result too?

Yes friend, that's great for you, we need more proof though.
I got 64000 on ExistenZ rom and Elite kernel. (without OC)
Don't know if 801 is better than 808 (I don't think it's more powerful, differences may be related to software, screen resolution...) but it has more than enough power and is really trustworthy. I haven't see many problems on this chips on any phone.

Again, that's nice, but, if a higher (than usual) score is seen only in one particular app, it sounds like an error, that's why I was asking for another test in another app (PCMark, GeekBench, Basemark, whatever), that will show a higher score too, hence proving that the device (or Android version) is indeed faster.

I was going to post some numbers, but...
* last week AnTuTu 6.2.7: 52912
* today AnTuTu 6.2.7: 58133
Yes, looks like all those that point out that this app is flawed were right all along, hence my skepticism in the above posts.
That being said, other apps are more consistent:
* GeekBench 4: ~1000/~2600 (yeah there's a slight variation per run but it's <3%!)
* 3DMark: ~1100 (again, slight variations)
Just to confirm,

Yeah, as expected, similar score.
That's the problem with AnTuTu, while your score there is way over Z3 average (your 65000 vs 52000 or 58000 that I and others get), your 3DMark is at the Z3 average. :-\
If you find time try a GeekBench too. Thanks.

Yep and when a new product advertises an AnTuTu score first I get the "they try to hide something vibe".
Don't get me wrong, I like big scores, I want users to share their setup that helped them, but usually I see some test somewhere (say, new device), so I go and try to compare it to my own, and "hey, surprise", most of the time benches on my device in hand will have a lower score than the same device from their test, so what does that leave me with?
My device was scoring 49000 on KK, then 52000 on LL, now it's 53000 or 58000 on NDP4, what does that tell me? Nothing much about my device.
Now, going to PCMark (general performance), 3DMark (GPU), GeekBench (CPU) gives you a better image of the device.
This whole thread can now be shorten to: "OMFG huge score in AnTuTu that does not reflect any performance improvement in any other benches, yay"

Quadrant is very inaccurate the tests are not up to spec for testing +1Ghz devices accurately.
The reason i say this is due to the fact that the benchmark varies from test to test.
I suggest AnTutu Benchmark.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.antutu.ABenchMark
It is much more accurate, as the the scores are closely similar time and time again.
The tests are a bit longer
But that is the good thing "accuracy"
It also gives info on each testing stage.
I got 2176 on WB's 007.1 TW rom, BB.67 with custom kernel.

It does not matter what benchmarking utility you use. They all give you a general idea of the performance of your phone. I think the OP just wants to use the tool that gives him the score he wants to see.
In reality the score of any phone using any utility is always relative to the scores of other phones using the same utility.
The thing to focus on is not the actual figures you get back but how your device measures up to other phones using the same benchmark test.

But it's a good comparison between phones after having a average score for each phone. But like you say, the numbers don't mean anything. Everything is personal.

True about benchmark apps but I don't think I think the OP just wants to use the tool that gives him the score he wants to see. What the OP is saying that with this app the difference between each time's score is not much hence why calling it accurate.
To look for a good benchmark is more important if you use a new phone with dual core CPU cos the old benchmarks aren´t optimised for them. I read that CF-Bench is optimised for dual cores and stresses the CPU and not so much the GPU of the phone.
But interesting that it seems that the overclocking have such a huge influence. With the first run (Wolfbreaks CM6 TW007) i had 2800 points with 1152MHz and in the second run with 998MHz 2400 points.
But true....it´s more a interesting gadget than to take it too seriously

It comes down to what you have happening in the background.
If your phone suddenly "for example" decides to fetch data off of 3G or suddenly refreshes the media midway thru the bench then it can effect your score. this is why it's best to do tests when the rom is clean and gone silent. "no background activity" with data disabled.
Benchmarking is used to place the current performance of a device in a certain category.
It's no different from benchmarking PC's.
A whole profession has been built around PC benchmarking with people competing for a first place.
If your score is higher than everyone else you win the competition.

Hello there!
I've got an idea to make a post-poll to see what scores Antutu Benchmark is giving us in the Shield Tablet on any ROM, like CM11, Stock, etc.
Mine (WiFi-only model) got 53.844 points, with the latest stock firmware (1.2.1) and Antutu Benchmark 5.1.. Also, it was set to Max. Performance mode..
I also made a video, you can check it here:
What are your best scores with the Shield Tablet?
(And sorry for my bad english lol)
Of course, I didn't mentioned it, but It'd be nice to compare scores between roms, so, if you're using a different rom than stock, like CM11, please post it, so that we know which rom has best performance

The ROM that has the highest Antutu score, and the ROM that has the best performance could (most probably) be different. It's been proven time and time again that benchmarks mean little when it comes to real world performance.

I completely disagree with this without meaning to be rude because every person suffers from confirmation bias and "self benchmarking" is one area where it effects everybody greatly.
To the extent that people can have very different experiences on exactly the same hardware and software as a matter of routine - and no one can know that it has ocurred since it's automatic.
Benchmarks are the in fact the only way to measure objectively IME and opinion.
This is certainly not to say that anyone has a better or worse experience though as you point out, that i agree with.

Something about 53k in AnTuTu. How did you do up to 65k+?
Hi !
For me as far as i'm concerned, i don't like benchmark,it's useless ...
I habe underclock my 2 big cores (to 960mhz for example) and i prefer to have a better battery life without lagg (for call,sms... facebook...browser...many games .. It's useless to have a performant phone)

If your performance feels good in real world use, why do you need some benchmark to tell you otherwise?

I have been using it as my daily,
Only one issue that has caused some concerns is that, if you lose the phone signal and you are on gsm,
it switches to cdma and then acts like you don't have a sim card...It can take reboots and hours for it to
return to gsm. However this hasn't happened to me for 5 days now with the newer builds.
My phone hardly ever heats up much with cm12.1...and I DON"T use any processor tweaks.

I hate apple, but Apple definitely got it right by saying it is not always all about "hardware specs" and it's more of a coexisting relationship between the hardware and software that is more important.
Samsung definitely has the superior hardware, but their ****ty TouchWiz screws it all up
