Does anybody use X720 in the US without issues? - LeEco Le Pro3 Questions & Answers

Does the lack of certain lte bands noticeably affect day to day use? I bought a x720 model before realizing the differences. If it does matter, is there anything I can do to fix it? Thanks.

If I am not mistaken the only band you are missing is 12 which should not matter much for the life of this phone unless I am mistaken. Look up if Tmobile uses 12 in your area.
I only have band 4 on my oneplus I think and it doesn't matter in Tampa.... other places it does.
So unless I ma mistaken this only affects futureproofing. Confirm you are only missing band 12 though.

Yeah it seems for tmobile the only missing band is band 12. I'm in California and it doesn't make too big a difference at all so I hope I can deal with it.

Which country do you live in?
Z3C has more frequency bands over the Z1C, so you can't just "flash" a hardware difference. The bands on Z1C should cover the whole of Europe though.
I am in US now. Ok so its a hardware thing? I thought some of that was software but i guess thats fine then.

There are some frequency capability differences, according to Phone Arena:

before you try flashing radios, you might want to try his apn settings. (make a record of your current ones first.)
Hi, if you are in the US now then your issue is more than likely LTE Band 17 which Z3 compact has and Z1 compact does not. Band 17 is used by AT&T in the US in many places. Band 17 is the 700 mghz frequency. AT&T also uses band 2, 4 and some places 5... But many places they only have 17 so you will have to reply on HSPA in those areas...
Many cities use a combination of 17 and 4 OR 17 and 2...so you will get some LTE service..
Hope that helps...

I am guessing (keyword) that it may be like the Note 3 where Samsung will say no but realistically the phones are all the same regardless carrier. You would just have to unlock a Big 3 phone and you would be good to go.

Motorola's reason to remove band 12 is bs

It's the lowest frequency cellphone band, so theoretically has the best range...
for t-mo at least, it's their answer for being able to keep a cell phone signal inside of buildings. the lower the MHz, the better it penetrates, and like was said, generally the longer the range too.
If you're not on T-Mobile band 12 is worthless to you.

What exactly is BS? T-Mobile is pushing manufacturers to disable band 12 if they don't have VoLTE due to issues calling 911. Until Motorola decides to add VoLTE on their devices, I doubt you will ever see band 12 enabled on their non T-Mobile branded phones ever again.

I sure did. Btw, you should read this: http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/0...2-lte-support-from-some-unlocked-smartphones/
It contains the reason T-mobile is not allowing band 12 without VoLTE on new phones.

You may not buy it, but it is clear T-Mobile is pushing manufacturers to disable it when they don't support VoLTE. I guess it is fun to have grand conspiracy theories but the real reason is clear.

You didn't even give a reason. You just said Motorola is lying. Yet, we know manufacturers of unlocked phones are disabling band 12 when they don't support VoLTE. Clearly, T-Mobile is pushing them to do it as they gain nothing by disabling it for any other reason. I'm not going to believe your random conspiracy theory over common sense.

Trying to unlock bands (e.g. LTE Band 4, 20, 28)

As you might know, the Mi 6 was announced today. The specs look great for the price (see http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/new-product/mobile-phone/xiaomi-mi6-news-release-date-price-features-specifications-3653263/) and I thought I finally found the phone I really wanted.
But then the old story hit me again. No support for LTE band 20. As I live in Germany this means no matter what provider I have, I will be affected with less LTE coverage.
So I created this thread to gather any news that involve the possibility and efforts of unlocking the LTE band 20 on the Mi 6.
I hope there are maybe similarities with the ongoing efforts of unlocking the bands of the Mi 5 (http://en.miui.com/thread-242834-1-1.html or here https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/how-to/progress-trying-to-unlock-bands-t3337476).
When the Mi 6 is shipped, I hope this will get some attention and we may find a way to unlock it together. :fingers-crossed:
I have the Mi Note Pro and I never spotted anyone succeeding in unlocking band 20.
I live in France and band 20 is one of the 3 main bands but I never suffered any need for band 20. I even had a Sony Z5 premium which had all French bands and I had to switch to 3g because it wouldn't receive well when I am in bed.
Depending on your carrier if you have just another band and live in a city, not having band 20 is not a deal breaker in my humble opinion.
If you really need it I wouldn't wait for sure for a way to unlock band 20.
Mi6 can work with AT&T network?

Yes that is a valid point. As I live in Berlin I won't have any problems here. But since I travel around a lot for work countryside coverage would be a good benefit. But as you mentioned band 20 won't stop me from getting the Mi6.
This thread is just if anybody comes up with a good idea on how this could be done. Just as a 'bonus'.
The most active in unlocking lte bands are people in the OnePlus forum as far as I know.

Because it needs to do a lot, such as patents, internal structure, and so on.
Maybe Xiaomi note3 will behave better.
Band 20 in mi5 CAN NOT be unlocked. It is hardware limited. Please read thread mi5, page 76.
You only need schematic diagram, then you can see.

It depends on power amplifier and rf modules. In some case it can be unlocked with software or hardware changing.
If somebody find which power amplifier and rf modul are used in mi6, let me known, i tell you if unlock possible.

But still shouldn't the network setup be kept stock... I mean why waster resources on a freaking modem... When u can divert them to something else....
And if I am not wrong Qualcomm gives the chipset/modem with all the bands unlocked.. quite like apple .. hence making s truly global phone

You could say the same for Oneplus's global and China variant. They must have their reasons. I'm sure everyone, let alone, Xiaomi, know that they don't benefit for locking the bands. So, there's no point speculating on why and rather to just accept the obvious that it was not for the US market or any other country that It's not being sold officially.

LTE FDD Band 20 - 800 MHz support

Apparently there is hardware support and band 20 is unlockable - For Mi5, some users say certain hardware components are missing, others say that all hardware is there - from RF filters, RF components, SAW filters, etc. and that only RF calibration (software) is missing. The thread is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/how-to/progress-trying-to-unlock-bands-t3337476
Can anyone confirm? Any schematics for Redmi 4 Available?

maybe, but indicator 4G is fake? also fast browsing with this.
Also shown H, H+, E.
b20 band is one of few LTE band. Not supporting b20 does NOT mean that your phone does NOT support entire LTE standard. Just b20 band.
I'm everywhere and everytime in 4G with Vodafone (in Italy), only some carriers use b20, the phone support 4G.
In my coutry cariers uses mostly only 800MHz (B20) and 900MHz (B8) so I triend to unlock it. And I can confirm you can't unlock LTE bands via NV Browser on our phone! While I was testing it, I bricked my phone so I don't recomend to do this for newbies.
PS: My phone is fine now I got him back from the silicon heaven
I tried changing the nvram, too. But it does not work... you can disable more bands with the nvram value but not enable anything ....sadly Dunno if this is hardware restriction, modem firmware or other software.
If there's a way to unlock band 20 (800 mhz) please let us know
