[Q] Camera - blurry?

Not sure if its my unit or all S5 have this problem. Pictures come out blurry unless you put the phone on a tripod!
I have software image stabilizer On. Taking picture of the same scene from an iphone gives no blurr at all. Even tried with droid DNA and its fine as well. Anyone else having the same experience?
Did you remove the thin plastic film covering the camera?
yep. I did.

Yes he does, read the 3rd sentence "I have image stabilizer on" lol. But yeah that's your problem OP, take that OFF!

Hmm i don't agree with that. If i sit here at my desk and take repeated frames of the same object (low light, indoors), only about 50% come out clear with IS off. I have a hard time not taking a clear picture with IS on which, obviously, is the point.
I think it's a software problem that will be fixed in future updates.

Probably, for now just increase the light. Shine a lamp on that object or something..
Is there any way to manually adjust iso?

You have a LOT of motion blur in the S5 shot. And it doesn't seem to be that dark in the room. I can't that much motion blur on my S5 unless I deliberately shake it while taking the picture. If that shot is typical, then you may have a defective unit.

It's ok. Problem solved. Just had to switch off hdr mode.

another set of test shots
another set of test shots. image stablizer is turned off (and it made some difference). test space is pretty well lit.
Droid DNA is much better than S5.
I took the attached picture in very low light, are you seeing what's on your images? I left everything default. Image Stabilization on, auto, etc.

hard to say with this subject. easier to compare if there is some text in the picture. When I take a picture of kids running around, they come out horrible.

Same lighting, maybe a tiny bit darker. I'm beginning to think there's something wrong with your camera!
I'm inclined to agree there's something wrong with your camera. This is in very poor light.

Bad front camera quality!

Anyone else have these very very bad grainy pictures?
This is with the front camera

This is with the rear camera @ 2.4 Mpixel

Really? No one has a Note 4 that takes grainy pictures with the front camera?

We do, but it's expected. It's the front camera. The sensor is small, and obviously it will be worse than the back camera.
Also check that you don't have the selfie filter set too high... in selfie mode, it is automatically enabled and it blurs your face etc... it works for me and my wrinkles.. LOL
lol
I have the beauty shot down to 0 and this still happens. And compared to a Note 10.1 for example, the pictures are horrible. I am not comparing it to the back camera!

Xperia Z5 Rev 4 suffers from blur in the camera?

I'm going to buy the Xperia Z5 in a neighboring country. Arrived and the store owner sent me photo confirming that Rev 4! The Rev 4 is suffering from blur in the camera? It is software or hardware problem?
Rev 2 seems to be the best right now.. I haven't seen one in the thread that suffers from Camera Blur.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/general/im-doing-tally-z5-series-affected-left-t3242302
Rev 2 reported with blur and without.
Rev 4 reported with blur and without.
It's not that simple guys.
Looking all over the internet, I have not come to the conclusion it comes to hardware or software problem! I'm definitely scared to buy the device!
are people just being paranoid? All circular lens have bluring on corners right?
Looking at the Lumia 950 samples
http://fortheloveoftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/WP_20151121_11_23_42_Rich.jpg
there are bluring on all corners and it is using Carl Zeiss lens where people say it is suppose to be the best.

Maybe different standards as i do not have the same scenary as you have, and some are taking pics in 4:3 which isn't affected with blur while others are using 16:9 which is affected.

Blur, and uneven blur is lens alignment issue, and mine has strong blur on the left, right has normal lens fall off blur.
This may not be normal! It is a hardware problem for sure!
Well I'm going to chime in that on my rev 4 I'm not seeing any blur. But I prefer to shoot in 4x3 anyway.

Can you post your photos?
Sure. Here's a few I took today. Took in wide so you can see the far edges. There seems to be a tiny bit on the left but it looks about even with the right so I'm hesitant to say it's the problem. If it is, it's quite minor to some other ones I've seen.
Edit: Ugh, I see the XDA app smashed these down...I'll upload elsewhere shortly...
Okay, here you can check em out: https://goo.gl/photos/ZeU2KxxogdWPwWTx6
If anything, with the cloudy skies making the light muddy you can see how nasty Sony's overprocessing can get.

Is there any way to make the 6P's camera focus on close objects?

Hi,
So I tend to take a lot of super close up pics, mostly of different small computer parts and it's really annoying that the Nexus 6P cannot focus on close objects.
Is there any possible way to make it focus on close objects, any possible way is fine with me.
Use a camera app that has macro focus?
I've actually been wondering this as well.

I don't use this app myself, but I've read this app has the possibility: HD Camera Pro .
i have the same gripe, but i have come to find out that the camera doesnt really have to be sooo close to the subject to take good pics.
use MANUAL CAMERA, it allows you to adjust focus manually to macro... and u will see that the minimum working distance is about 4-5 inches away
I've used Manual Camera as well for macro shots, seems to work pretty good.

That's nice to know, but which settings to modify for macro shots?
Not a software solution, but you can buy on ebay for a few bucks macro lens. I have played with it a little bit, and the results are excellent. And since you are working with computer parts, if you have nearby old CD/DVD drive, try to pull out lens from it. You will be amazed with result (but it will give you blur effect on everything that is not in the center of the image, opposite to macro lens where everything is clear).

cool macro lense i used to have was the outer lense of a disposable camera
u opened it, cut the lense with some plastic from the front housing and used it
now that i have a 3d printer, i would venture to print a holder for one of them... guess i gotta go get another disposable camera

Camera does not take photos natural :(

Is therr any solution to take clear natural pictures instead of beauty effected ones. I havr tried some other camera apps but photos are more stunned than real.
