Hey!
I can't seem to find any samples or anyone even showing or mentioning the results of the front facing camera in any review.. From what I have seen on the z1 is that the pictures of the front facing camera are grainy like crazy if the light isn't perfect. Anyone knows if the slightly better hardware of the z2 camera gives out a better end result? Maybe anyone of you can link to some pictures on the web.
Thanks!
The front camera is just a 2mp ish camera which really all you want it for is 'selfies' which it will do the job.
From the samples I have seen Im pretty pleased with the results of the rear camera and low light pictures definately look acceptable.
Im on the LG G2 now and the camera is awesome, the pictures I take are amazing, until the light starts to fade, then it takes about 3 seconds to focus, if the object is moving its blurry and looks like a cartoon. Im just hoping the Z2 gives me the awesome pictures in daylight and ok pictures in low light which are not blured, that will do me. But as always I wont know until I test under my own uniqe conditions.

Is it possible to capture a photo in broad daylight and have it look like this? The noise is HORRIBLE! (skin correction is turned off). I dont even dare take selfie shots. The results are ALWAYS awful not matter the lighting conditions.
This is during daylight:

This is at dusk, so its not completely dark:

No one? Everyone's Note 4 takes so bad front camera pictures? Oo
bump
This is unfortunately typical of the Note 4's front camera. The module's just not quite up to snuff - it's got a tiny sensor without OIS. Sure, the optics get a bit more light in, but at the cost of stretching things near the edges.
Skin correction "helps" things a bit I guess, by blurring the skin surface so you don't see image artifacts, but it makes other things in the frame blurry.
This is very weird. The Note 3 I had before had a better front camera than the Note 4!
Gidday folks, just got this awesome new phone but I'm incredibly concerned about the front facing camera... See my attached pics and let me know.
Excuse the ug face...
The front facing camera on the G6 isn't brilliant. To get the best possible image quality from it it's best to use the wide angle setting as the zoomed setting is just a crop of the wide angle image.
The front camera is definitely one of its weak points though.

Don't know why LG reduced from 8mp to 5mp to the front camera? Use the rear wide angle camera and use it for selfies.
What do you guys think about the camera performance? For me the front camera is great but the rear camera is disappointing. There is often blur in the pictures, especially on the sides of the photo. Perhaps I got a faulty unit.

I have the same thoughts as you my friend, great performance from the front facing and nice to have front flash for those awkward moments but as for the rear facing camera I absolutely hate how when you from picture to video you really notice the difference and looks very tacky that's for sure. Quite sad to see no 60 FPS recording option but then again, it is a mid ranger so I can't have high expectations etc.
I do really miss using my Xperia X camera compared to the XA1 Ultra, boot up time on my X is insanely fast. Sometimes when booting camera from lockscreen can take 5-6 seconds to open which is slightly painful lol...
You're beautiful and everyone knows it. That's why you take selfies. Rate this thread to express how the front-facing camera of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE performs. A higher rating indicates that the front camera produces fantastic results consistently.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Ugh, front camera is so soft.
Seems like there is a beauty filter on it, and I cant find a way to make it sharper.

When you're taking a selfie look to the top right out the Wand like icon. If it is yellow then there is a filter on.

Yea, i turned that off, still looks too smooth, or smoother than on say my wifes pixel 3a
Front camera is pretty poor. No details, it's all smudged together.

Agree with this....it's so fuzzy and grainy looking. Coming from a Pixel 3 here...
Coming from a S9 that had a naked front screen, I feel the front camera is at least as good in sharpness. I have a TG screen protector on this phone with no punch hole too. I don't do a lot of looking at me on my phone. I don't video call. The front camera is mostly a mirror for me when I have to check my beard stubble at 4 p.m. before a meeting or something.

Nice! not even kidding!
I'm coming from the oneplus 7t and i can agree that the front camera is pretty ****ty. Like worse than the 7t and oneplus is known for it's bad cameras. Hopefully a software update can fix that.
It takes selfies as if they were taken with a 2MP camera. And worse, it doesn't have autofocus.
For now (until One UI 3 comes out) the only solution for good quality selfie is GCam. This clearly shows that hardware is capable and software is ****. Photos taken with GCam are full of detail, no fake smoothing and great exposure.
Same goes with front facing camera. If taking portrait shots use Gcam.
Also under OneUI 3.0 the front cam + Samsung standard photoapp pics is not more than shi**y. I tried all
different setups, sunlight, lamps,...still bad.
Otherwise the newest GCAM produces sharp, crispy, colorful front cam pics.
