I'm probably the only one with this problem, but I have about 1300 contacts and multiple numbers with each contact. When I set up Outlook (2010) I would add a number to the contact (say using Pager as the number, and adding a persons name behind the number (111) 111-1111 Tom). This helps me to keep track of the different people with a company. When I had my HTC Fuze, I would voice dial over bluetooth with MS Voice Command and I could say call the "Company name on Pager" and I would get the person I intended to call that was listed. With this phone, instead of just dialing the numbers, it adds numerical value for the person's name to the number listed. Sorta of like (111) 111-1111 Tom would be (111) 111-1111866, (the 866 for Tom). Does anyone know of a work around for this other than me going into Outlook and deleting all the the names I have behind their corresponding phone numbers? Thanks.
Hi guys, running HTC Magic with cyanogenmod 6.0.0 here.
I have all my contacts phone numbers stored as like 0-41-11-12345, where the "41" is my carrier number so I can make long distance calls when out of town (no need to edit the contact). However I get all SMS messages identified as 0-11-12345 (no carrier number) so the phone does not "link" that sender with my actual contact... I have to search through all my contacts every time I get a new SMS (to see who sent me the message) because I can only see the source number.
Any ideas on how to solve that?
Thanks!
Hi guys.
Whenever someone calls to me the number only appears instead of their contact name in the address book. Why is that? The only difference I know of is that all my numbers are stored with the international prefix for my country. But whenever someone calls to me, the number showing is without the prefix.
This worked on all previous HTC and Windows Mobile phones - is this something new on WP7?? Or are there any settings I can edit somewhere?
I feel totally lost!
I also have all my contacts numbers stored with the international prefix, but I don't seem to have the problem you describe.
My contacts sync through Exchange.
Maybe try storing a number without the international prefix, and see if it shows the number or the contact.
In Settings\Applications\Phone there is a setting "International assist" which automatically corrects mistakes while dialing internationally or while abroad. Maybe try turning it on or off.
This is really weird. I too sync my contacts through Exchange, but I don't think that matters.
The weird part is when people call me the incoming call is without international prefix, so when the contact in my address book is stored with the international prefix, it doesn't show who's calling!! If I remove the prefix, it works as it should.
As for the text (SMS) messages they go through the SMS center, which apparently uses the international prefix, so all SMS' I receive are with the prefix so all my contacts which I have stored the prefix on, it displays their names, all without displays with only the number!
Really frustrating!!!!
Any ideas?

I live in Norway as well - could there be something odd with the carrier? I use TalkMore...
Works fine for me here in Austria.
I have stored my Contacts with international prefix and everything works just fine.
Could reall be a carried problem.

Hi.
Have just discovered the Galaxy Note 4 does not operate the same way as my old HTC Sensation.
I have some numbers stored in my contacts list with the #31# prefix to withhold my number when I call them. If I dial one by selecting that contact my number is successfully withheld. The call log does not display the #31# prefix though so if I then re-dial it, by selecting it from the call log, my number is not withheld. The Sensation stored the #31# prefix in the log so re-dialling from the log meant my number was withheld.
Does anyone know how I can get the log to store the #31# prefix to avoid me re-dialling and giving out my number? Some operators in the UK allow you to prefix the phone number with 141 instead of #31#... but not 3 it would seem.
Many thanks.

Hello guys,
i'm facing a strange problem with my s7 edge, it just mix the contacts number randomly. Many times i'm trying to call someone and when i do i found that it's not the one i'm trying to call!! after a deep look into my contact list i found that the phone is copying another contact phone number to another contact name, i will have two numbers under the same contact name, and when i press edit i just see the original number, the other number "the one the phone copy it himself" isn't there! i tried to show only my device contacts or google account contacts but still same problem.
Any ideas! thanks
This has never happened on my edge. Are you using any third party contact apps or dialers?
No just the regular contact app
