It cant be, they don't protrude beyond the moulding itself. Its almost like leds are in there but for what and they don't light up?
Not to derail your thread, sorry I don't know the answer. But, how long is the factory cable?
Too short.

1 1/2 ft looks like. As for the dot no idea but you'll find them on other type c cords. Some have two instead of one.

This is a picture of a circuit board from an LG WCP-700 Qi charger. It makes a very annoying beep, but I can't figure out what is making it. My best guess so far is the part labeled 331. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the beep that loud? If you find out, be sure to post it here. Mine is on it's way.
That looks like it. I'll certainly take mine out when it arrives in a few days, if you are too afraid to yank it wait and I'll let you know how it turns out.
I'd rather have a dead charger than a loud annoying one

Might want to check this out. Someone stated that they took it out and it's dead.
I have the same question, I got the case open expecting this to be easy but I'm not 100% sure what to pull off the PCB. I think you are right that it has to be the part labeled 331. There is just not anything else that it could be.
That said I'm not willing to pull it without some confirmation. Maybe somebody here with more EE experience can tell us for sure.
I don't get my nexus 4 until tomorrow, maybe once I have it I can get the charger to beep and listen for where the sound is coming from.
Apologies for being slightly OT (although I'll be looking to do this when I get mine).
I'm struggling to find a supported voltage range in any specifications for this pad - I'm UK based and need either an adaptor or convertor depending on the range.
Could someone who has one let me know what the specs are please?
How did you get it open??? I've been trying for a week now and have all but ruined the bottom ha! A "How To" would be appreciated!

The 4 little rubber feet on the bottom pull out and there are 4 small Phillips screws underneath.
I had to use a small screw driver to pry up on the feet, it felt like they might rip but they all came out undamaged. Once those screws are out the top and bottom are still held together by a couple of snap-tabs in the middle of the long sides. I was able to get them apart with a little prying and again nothing broke even though it felt like it might. The PCB is held on by 4 obvious Phillips screws.
Sorry I don't have any pictures and can't take any until after I get home from work later.

OK, mine is different then... I got it from Amazon and its a Verizon one and the bottom is all one solid rubery unit. I saw the 4 posts with screws when I pry it open but couldn't get to the screws.
Thanks!
Instead of pulling it or jacking up the PCB trying to disconnect, could you maybe just drown the thing in some sort of epoxy? if not muting it, may at least muffle it some
Check the ZENS Qi wireless chargers, no beep and work great!

I've tried putting my finger over different parts of the PCB and the letting it beep, including "331", and nothing I do lessens the volume. That's why I'm baffled on what part is the actual speaker.
The part labled 331 looks like an choke/inductor to me. I wouldn't remove it...
edit: do you have a picture of the other side of the PCB?

The only things on the back side of the PCB are the two LEDs at the top. I am beginning to think that the sound is coming from the coil itself, like it is performing double duty as a charging coil and as a speaker coil.
BTW, I got my phone today and can confirm (as has been said elsewhere) that this charger works perfectly for charging the nexus 4. Well... expect for the loud beeps.

Just for reference here are some pictures of my charger, so that you can see the screw locations. Mine is also Verizon branded and came from amazon.

Awesome, turns out the plugs were there the two I had tried to pry out tore making me think they did not come out. So, now just to figure out where the beep is coming from!
A few things I've noticed,
1. the USB port seems way too hard to plug in. I have to force the cord in much harder than any phone I've had. Just me?
2. Active notifications is brilliant. Let me know if I get this right, while in a pocket or when the sensor tells that it's very close to something it won't turn on unless pulled out of the pocket or flipped. But if it's sitting on a table for example, it turns on automatically every few minutes acting as sort of a notification led. This is by far my favorite feature of this phone.
3. Coming from the One X, which had an awesome 720p display I love this screen even more. Colors are much more vibrant and the contrast is so much better.
4. The only modding I would ever want to do with this phone is root in order to block ads. And maybe change the boot animation. Coming from a flashaholic, that's huge.

I've had mine for a few weeks, and the USB port is still tight. I like it that way. Nobody wants loose holes.
The vibration is very loud on mine, anybody else think the same of theirs?

you can use the last usb line to charge or connect ,that will be ok i think .
Mine was fairly tight up front, but like others 'broke in' a bit pretty quickly (it's still tight, but in a good way). I fully agree with 2 & 3.
My stock cable is the same way. I got a longer, 6-foot cable from Monoprice and it goes in a lot easier.
Mine is the same as everyone else's. One more thing is that when I'm watching or listening to certain media my on-screen volume doesn't move but volume goes up or down, depending what I push.
Like it visually doesn't move side to side on the screen. Maybe it's just me.

well i i know the digitizer worked. so im going to try putting my old cracked screen on. this is getting annoying...
Going to sound really weird. When you reassembled the phone your white antenna cable near the bottom of the phone crosses over a connection right before it plugs in. Is that connection covered with a non conductive material or no? Reason I ask is that I have recently performed this repair myself and ran into an issue similar to this. Believe it or not but shielding that connection from the antenna cable with a piece of electrical tape fixed the crazy acting screen I had.
Here's a link to the thread I had with a video how to I found.

Ya I tried to cheap out and initially bought a screen without an LCD.
This may have been asked before but I haven't found a concrete answer.
I randomly smelt my headphone socket and it smelt very sweet, like a pear drop. Same for the USB socket but not as strong. What do you think is happening?
Thanks!

I read about this here on XDA and it means the battery is leaking. I know it sounds strange but if you can, do the following :
1) take a nandroid backup
2) go stock
3) take it in for warranty and get it examined.
You might get a battery replacement if you're covered under warranty and are 100% stock.
I'm not totally sure but if the battery was already leaking I doubt the phone would work at all anymore.

I don`t need to contact my vendor or supplier. I just need oppinion from other users. How does it look like when you plug charging cable to the usb port.
Is it stick super tight or swinging slightly up and down. Maybe it is normal. Both of my unit have the same issue.
mine is quite tight.
My cable is not loose fitting, but certainly isn't tight, either.

On my phone the cable clicks into place solidly but it does move slightly from side to side and back to front.
I just got the phone a few days ago so I may exchange it unless they all do this.
So far everything works fine though.
