IMEI not valid for B&O headphones - LG V20 Questions & Answers

I purchased my LG V20 through Sprint on 24 Oct, 2016. When attempting to sign up for the free B&O headphones offer my MEID isn't being accepted. I get the error IMEI/MEID Number: The serial number provided is not valid for this promotion. I've tried MEID Hex, DEC and HEX with the extra digit from the phone's menu. Nothing works.
I've emailed LG @ [email protected] and will call 1-888-655-4246 later today. I've also tried registering the device.
EDIT: Called them and they confirmed that Sprint users must wait till the 28th to register.

I just spoke to lg. they told me to try after the 28th of october. they were having some issues with the system.

I think their system is down at the moment probably from so many people trying to register for the new headphones. I just tried and the page doesn't even load for me.

Wow. That sucks. I got into system last night about 5 minutes after link went active. It accepted my verizon v20 mei just fine then. Hope they get this fixed for you!

Try putting the imei number in without the dashes, I just got through it a minute ago.

Same scenario for me. I removed the dashes and it worked.

So I submitted it and it said i would hear back in a few days. Is that everyone is getting?

The free color. They'll send out the free color. Which if it is like the review units, those were silver.

I did a screenshot, and I had an actual order invoice from Verizon.

Any idea how long until we get these?

For the IMEI Pic,I took a pic of the box.
That's what Samsung usually requests,can't remember what LG's past practice was/is.
As for the receipt,I bought mine via telesales,snapped a screenshot from My T-Mobile page (click on Account Activity/Documents)

What to do with an S4

Okay so basically this is a question of what to do with a S4 that was shipped to my business. We received a S4 through fedex about a month ago that an old employee was suppose to receive at their home(now living out of state). We have had the phone for a month now and have asked fedex to take the phone back b/c they were suppose to pick it up and they always say they can not take it back without being told to do so by main office. The old employee did receive the phone he was suppose after calling at&t and telling them they sent the phone to the wrong address. Again this all happened a month ago and we now still have the phone. I was wondering how long(if there is a time length) before at&t forgets about the phone. Are we able to take the phone and use it as our own at this point.
What firmware does it have? I'd factory reset my old s4 and put my sim in the new one, given that it had anything older than MF3 installed...

I am not sure what firmware, it is at the office at the moment.
It has yet to be activated assuming it's new. Did you have to physically sign for the package from FedEx?

Well it is refurbished. It was sent with a new sim card as well. Yes, it was signed for by someone in the office.
Hmm.. If the owner hasn't made a big deal about it in 30 days, I'm sure there is a time period coming up that would leave you free to do what you like with the device. Maybe 90 days? You'll have to check with your local laws to be sure.

Well the owner had called at&t to tell them the phone was shipped to the wrong address and they overnighted him another one. At that point they said fedex would pickup the one sent to us(again this was a month ago). Another worker does already have an S4 and we put his sim in it yesterday and it worked.
I'd sell it. I'm sure the IMEI is on file somewhere with AT&T. You'll probably be fine with using it, but to be sure you could sell it and get a Nexus 5

Yes, I do not want to sell it though and then have at&t charge him for it once they see it being used in their system.

No, I was thinking of bringing it to the store and seeing what they say about it.
you're going to have to have the original buyer of this phone call customer care.
since it sounds as if it was purchased by a business acct or online, the store will not help.

No, it was not a business account that it was purchased under. It was done over the phone i believe when he did do it. but he already did contact att and all they told him was that fedex would pick up the phone(this was November 20th).

I had a similar situation with a company I worked for a few years back. I was the receiver and FedEx delivered a phone mistakenly to our business. The next day the FedEx driver was told about it, but said he couldn't take it back without approval. I called FedEx no less than 6 or 7 times about it until they finally told me just to keep it, they didn't want to deal with it. I thought about taking it home but had a funny feeling about it so I left it at work. About 3 weeks later, the FedEx driver asks me about it and tells me he is supposed to pick it up. I'm not sure if FedEx was finally told to return it or if the driver was tired of hearing about it and figured he would keep it for himself. I really didn't care. The point is that it isn't worth it. Call FedEx and make them take it back. Make sure you document it when they do. If someone starts asking questions about it, it is on them and not you.

Thank you for your input, that is actually why I did leave it at work. We did tell the driver about it probably 5 or 6 times over 4 weeks. I was actually not the one who signed for it but both the person it was suppose to go to and the person who signed for it do not care what is done with the phone so that is why I am on here asking about this situation. At&t will eventually lock the imei due to lost/stolen phone. I wouldn't keep it as my own. Some states have low felony dollar amounts on theft. They can trace these phones and lock them down. I actually have this hunk of crap because I bought a wonderful tmobile s4 from a second hand store in austin. Worked great for 3 months. Unlocked bootloader and all the custom roms I could flash. Then one day the Internet stops. Call tmo and they say it's locked down due to non payment. I explained how I purchased the phone and they could care less. It was an expensive media player at that point. Thankfully, the store I purchased it at took it back and gave me this pos. I complain, I'm actually lucky as the Internet is filled with horror stories of buying from an individual and losing their phone and money. Anyway, don't be an ass. Give the phone back or throw it in the trash. Or, you could burn it in effigy in front of your local at&t store. Happy holidays.

I am also wondering if I were to use it on my at&t account(currently using XT860) would I be seen as stealing it or anything to that effect by at&t.

Anybody tried submitting the rebate online?
I tried to submit mine but after I entered the IMEI and WIFI Mac Address (from Note 4), it says my IMEI and WIFI Mac address were invalid.
Never thought this will be a hard one
For anyone who's having the same experience. Will have to do a snail mail instead of online submission (see below).

Check that you have entered each digit of the IMEI or HEX MEID correctly. Please note,

How did you two get the Note 4 before release date? It is an international version? Maybe because the promotion is only for the USA and must be be preordered via a carrier buying an international version that is not from a carrier is not a valid purchase.
It's a US version. I got mine from T-Mobile.

I was browsing in some other forum and saw people having the same issue. One guy suggested to wait on 10/17 since this is the official release date of GN4. His logic might be that the rebate page hasn't been updated with all the Note 4 IMEI and MAC values. It makes sense so I'll wait.

Can someone offer me some help? I just preordered my Note 4 at a US T-Mobile store today and am wondering where I am supposed to find the IMEI or HEX MEID since I don't yet have the phone. Is it supposed to show on the receipt because mine does not. I have the trade-in information, but without the actual Note 4 in my hands, I know no way of completing the online forms.
Am I missing something?

It's in the phone itself. You need to receive the device first, then look it up in the settings.

ok, figured this out.....
I got my box out and compared the hex id to the one in the phone. The hex id had one more number in front and the imei had one more number on the rear. So, I used the one on the box and it accepted it.

Mine was ordered on June 4th with regular shipping and arrived June 8th.
As far as tracking it did not show up in an email, however, logging into the huawei website I was able to find a tracking number there. Mine was delivered via USPS.
I ordered on the evening of June 4th and received the phone, case, bluetooth speaker & $50 tracfone activation code on June 11th delivered by UPS. It showed as from Amazon.com with the origin of Middleton, DE. The Net10 BYOP activation kit was delivered by the USPS on Monday June 8th.
Phone is fine for what it cost with the promotional deal. I don't care for the Huawei skin/modifications so am looking forward to some custom ROMs. Also hope that Huawei gets a lollipop update out in the next month or two.
I found an auto rotation bug that stops the phone from correctly orienting when it is rotated 180 degrees in portrait position.
No NFC, 5GHz WiFi or wireless charging though I can live without those while I wait for the next Google Nexus phone/s in the fall. This is a gap phone as I dropped my Nexus 5 and the screen is cracked enough to be an annoyance to use. I would have sent it in to LG to get repaired however I can't be without a phone until it is returned.

i bought one two days back and NFC is working 5ghz wifi according to the price i think this is fine ! and it came with lollipop stock firmware .
You probably have the international version, I am referring to the ALE-L04 model for North America.

i received mine way back June 9, 2015. i have firmware B111 and there is not facility to create an exchange email account. only option is IMAP or POP3. Huawei tech support says to expect update soon (end of the month) but i saw some reviews of the phone with B112 EMUI version. can someone please confirm what your EMUI version is and whether you are able to create an exchange email account? thanks.

my is Huawei P8 Lite ALE-L21 Dual SIM LTE and wifi holds about 36h
Went & bought ALE-L21. SD Card not working (It says preparing SD only & nothing happens) And must say that I hate Lolipop... Need to find a way for CM to go onboard P8 Lite.

Same here, but if I recall they said it could take a couple of weeks before they got back to us. Yeah here it is:
"Please be on the lookout for a confirmation email letting you know the approval status of your submission within the next 5 business days."
So for me, that would be by Wednesday, 6/3.
I received submission confirmation emails minutes after submission of each promo.

It works on both. I did bought on 0 down through JUMP. Same on G3, got approved for extra battery and charger.

I dont think there is any way of checking status. If you dont get it by given time frame, you have to email them.
Once they approve it, they will send you an email and it should have a link to check the status. You'll use the id number they gave us in the first email(s).

Go to the same links you signed up at and there is a check status button. Must have your confirmation number and zip code.
I just submitted mine last night, so I am not expecting to hear anything in the next week or so. I know it says you can check the status on-line, but I'll give it a week before checking.

They started blocking imei samsung or sprint.

i just check my imei and its showing blacklisted thats after i gave samsung my imei for the return and waiting on shipping box. as of Tuesday. be careful guys think sprint or Samsung are blocking imei now

I said before, they will be black listed eventually. It's easy for them to start black listing them as they get them back. They are not going to want to accidentally have them activated again.
I don't think we have to worry for now, but at some point I would bet money there if a forced blacklist of all Note 7s if you kept it or not. I don't think they can make you return it, but they can keep you from using it on their network.

How did you unlock your Sprint Note 7 for use with AT&T?
I talked to a connection I have at Sprint (high up), they will not be blocking Note 7s unless you swap them out to Samsung, then they go dead as if lost. If you choose to keep it, they are not cutting you off or forcing you turn them over, it's only recommended. In fact less than half of the Note 7 user have return them and are still active as of today.
Hmmm.... Has anyone heard of anymore Notes going up in smoke? Last I heard 97 had went up in flames here in the United States. I haven't heard of any new cases since before the recall got expanded.

Surprisingly easy to believe. Pretty sad. I'm just trying to decide how long to keep my device though. Updates. Support. Even insurance. It's all a question now. Until the next big thing at least
Sure they are blocking phones turned in with the recall but NOT phones that are still active.
Mine is fine as well!! Note 7 is not going to leave my hands, unless of course after all this time it decides to explode, but i'm not counting on it.:good:
