How to improve the battery performance? - Huawei P9 Lite Questions & Answers

Which apps should I use? I have a rooted system

using huawei setting is a good way, Greenify, with root give good result. I've try xposed framework tip's but, for me , maybe you can adjust/set the way your battery is working but just install xposed give a huge drain battery. I've test V84, V85 and V86 and with just framework manager with no modules I had 20 or 30 % lost in the night VS maybe 6-8 % without.
Excuse my poor English

Personnaly i use Naptime to hibernate the phone when it is not used, and the Amplify Xposed module to kill wakelocks, then increase stand-by battery life.

For me, the best " battery saving mode " was the "stamina" mode on sony device. I saw there is a plan to port this mode ( stamina ) on any android device, using xposed module --> http://repo.xposed.info/module/net.jzhang.powernap
For me, battery is ok without framework, but if you want take a look...
But I repeat, using Huawei setting is a good way : phone manager ( ? in french it's gestionnaire de téléphone ) explore menu, and setting / app/advanced setting / ignore battery optimisation ( ?)

I personally use Xposed with greenfy module, and L Speed app (From Play Store).
I can use the phone the whole day without recharging it.
I can recommend you also Amplify module ?

I dont understand how greenify works. So if I greenify whatsapp for example do I still get messages on time?
Which apps should I greenify? Could someone write a list with some apps? Thx

Greenify keeps turning off the apps. This is how it works.
That means you won't get messages, as long as the app is not opened.

The apps when you close them, they still are on "background". Greenfy close them totally. I use greenfy on every apps on my phone except for Nova Launcher, WhatsApp and some Xposed modules

with donate version you can hibernate app and get message, even it's hibernated :
from greenify description from play store :
"* Greenify system apps (now without Xposed)
* Allow GCM push for hibernated apps"

[GUIDE][UPDATED 7/DEC] COMPLETE GUIDE for BATTERY SAVING on AOKP,AOSP,CM, SAMMY ROMs

I have seen a lot of people not getting batter battery life on AOKP, AOSP, CM or HYBRID ROMs....
So I thought of setting up this step by step guide to set up the phone with very good battery life.
1. Flash the ROM that you would like to use. (AOKP,AOSP, CM, HYBRID or even STOCK) I have tried it on PAC MAN LATEST NIGHTLY, Fusion ROM, Omega ROM, ARHD ROM, Nightmare ROM, AND NOW CONFIRMED WORKING ON KITKAT ROMS AS WELL
2. After flashing the rom, reboot the phone and set it up.
3. Flash Googy-Max Kernel with following configurations in stweaks:
CPU & GPU - Undervolted 100mV (If your phone can handle it, I have done it since day one never had problems. )
CPU IDLE MODE - AFTR + LPA
DEFAULT CPU GOVERNER - zzmove-performance
CPU MAX FREQUENCY - 1100 MHZ
MDNIE TAB - (Optional - for batter color)
Uncheck both REGISTER HOOK and MASTER SEQUENCE
Zram - Disable ( I am using SWAP PARTITION on my SD Card)
MISC TAB - DEFAULT I/O SCHEDULER FOR INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL STORAGE - ROW or NOOP
AC CHARGE - 1300 mA
zzmove TAB - FREQ_LIMIT_SLEEP - 800 Mhz
4. Go to Settings>wifi>Options>Advance> UNCHECK "Scanning always available". Also uncheck NFC services in settings.
5. If you are not using location services all the time than you can do the following as well and you can enable the location services whenever you need them.
Go to GOOGLE SETTINGS APP>Location> UNCHECK "Access Location"
google settings app>maps & lattitude. UNCHECK "report from this device"
6. Install SYSTEM TUNER PRO with GREEN ICON from market.
This is the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ccc71.pmw.pro
7. Follow the guide in my video. The link is below: It will remove useless wakelocks from apps like google wallet, google talk, google plus, IF YOU ARE NOT USING THEM.
Video with DISCLAIMER :
Thread with DISCLAIMER : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2357417 Thanks to SKIPJACKS
8. Install Greenify and Greenify Donation. Links are below:
You need to install XPOSED FRAMEWORK for the Donation app to work.
Greenify: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify
Greenify Donation: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify.pro
Xposed Framework: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327541
9. Greenify all user apps and some of the system apps.
System apps that I have greenified:
google contacts sync
google play services
network location
nfc service
android keyboard
bluetooth share
browser
calender storage
cell broadcast
certificate installer
com.google.android.voicesearch
DRM protected content storage
exchange services
google account manager
google bookmark sync
google partner setup
google search
google text to speech engine
html viewer
key chain
market feedback agent
media storage
one time init
org.codeaurora.bluetooth
package access helper
package installer
pico TTS ( I use IVONA Voices)
10. Install 3G/4G Optimizer Pro and go to additional tweaks and check all the 4 of them and than reboot the phone.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=provision.netspeed.optimizer.pro
We need pro version because it has some additional tweaks for wifi scan, RILS, TCP which saves battery a lot.
11. This step is going to take few minutes of observation.
12. Go to setting>MORE> DISABLE NFC Services.
13. Download XBLAST TOOLS form Xposed Framework App
Go to Xblast tools>build.prop tweaks
Tick Google DNS Hack for speed
PM Sleep mode>choose Power Collapse(Best)
And Reboot.
In the new greenify app there is an option to CUT the connection of the app that is waking up the services.
Now for example,
I am using swift key keyboard not the android keyboard that comes with the rom, but android keyboard also wakes up GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES and keeps it running, so I cut the wake-up path. So now android keyboard will not wake-up GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES.
SO you need to find out which apps are waking-up the system apps and cut the wake-up paths IF THE APP IS NOT IMPORTANT.
After doing these all steps I was able to get 23+ hours battery life with following conditions:
-screen time 3 Hrs with 60% brightness
-Mobile Data, Sync and Bluetooth on around 7 Hrs 30 Mins
-Battery Drain during Night for around 8.30 PM to 6.00 AM - 3% to 4%
CREDIT goes to all of the developers of ROM, MODs, and APPs...
Thanks for the tip.
No problems...

Thank Chaitanyapatel8880 for useful tips But when I turned the screen off (i9300), it tooke few seconds to turn the screen on. The screen flashed light some times and turned black Immediately. I had to restart my phone and restore my backup. I think my phone can't handle "Undervolted 100mV"
Try - 50 mv. I have 2 s3s one of them Also can't handle.

I just wanna know bloatware from CM or Pure Android or whole things that run inside android system+google services and their describe. I think they're make the device keep waking up all the time while it's in deep sleep. And when I'm check in running apps it's the mostly use all of RAM.
Ps. If I know west apps, I'll help you improve the crazy battery drain issue and we'll have a lot of free RAM. :good:

No , i didnt select Lg email for hibernate . Whats your greenify xposed settings ?
I don't have any of the experimental features enabled, I also don't have Greenify pro. Do you have auto-hibernation set? Did you give Greenify Root access?
I have given Greenify root access and do have auto-hibernation enabled, and thus far it has been a set-it-and-forget-it app on my phone. Sorry that you are having issues with it.
If you don't have many apps in the list, maybe it would be worth a try to uninstall/reinstall Greenify? Or clear data?

[Q] Rooting and debloating my SM-N910F.

Hello guys,
I am new to android and I would like to root and debloat my note 4. I won't be making some big changes, I've got nova launcher + greenify and it's good enough for me as for customization but I experience a lot bigger battery drain on 5.0.1 than on 4.4.4 so I would like to root my note and check what are the wakelocks, and then if needed delete bloat apps like dropbox, facebook (maybe installing facebook lite?), facebook messenger, ANT radio and such.
My question is if rooting with cf-autoroot is enough to do this thing? Will Titanium backpup help me delete all the bloatware apps? What app will I need to stop baterry-draining wakelocks? And also, is there any way to block all but one apps from background data? Let's say I will turn off data in background and leave it just for whatsapp for notofications? I would like to block some google services also since i never use S voice or google now etc.
I would appreciate any kind of help.
Wakelock Detector doesn't work on my rooted note 4 sm-n910F. Any ideas?

For wakelock finding you can use GSAM battery monitor or BetterBatteryStats (BBS)
Greenify, Disable Service, or Amplify if you use Xposed to improve battery life.
Debloating can be done manually, or with scripts/programs around the forum here.
Or you can just flash SimplRom in and have a debloated rom immediatly
Hope it helps :good:
I've downloaded titanium backup pro. Can I unistall 'My Places' without any worries? I'm not using it.

I wouldn't uninstall My Places as I believe is tied in with system security. Just freeze it, as least then if removing it does cause any problems is an easy fix.

Greenifying Motorola System Apps

Everyone around uses greenify, but I am on stock and not rooted. I have greenified almost every other system app. Anyone who has a decent hold over knowledge when it comes too greenifying system apps can tell me which ones are safe and which ones shouldnt be greenified ? Thanks in advance.
i greenifying motorola update, device management, Rescue Add-on:Motorola, initializing services motorola; and deleted moto care/int .
motorola modality services its for "moto screen" and shouldnt disable if u use that.
i want to know more too ;D

I don't think its necessary anymore to greenify system apps since android 6. Its better to disable the moto and google services in settings > apps. Disabling also prevents the services to start when booting and saves more power and memory.
Even I have disabled these apps but battery keeps draining as most of the system apps are awake all the time. So to save more and squeeze more battery life I was wondering if its safe to hibernate motorola services and apps.

Link not working. However I know about automated hibernation.. But with no root device there is hardly any scope for deep hibernation.
Edit : worked from laptop.
PS : This needs custom recovery ?

no, you don't even need to root... just go to settings--apps--show system and start disabling according to the guide whatever you don't need.
I never greenify system apps since android lollipop and never have had strange battery drains so far. Its normal that a lot of system apps are running in the background, thats why they call it a smartphone. Just auto greenify your user apps and disable all services you don't use in android settings. And don't use wakelock detectors, because it only makes you crazy seeing how much services are running in the background which is completely normal. You can auto hibernate user apps without root, only takes a little longer to hibernate.

That is for removing Google products totally... Go to the end of the article it has a list of products which you can disable without causing any problems.
Have successfully removed all the google apps. Only issue is Ola cabs app doesnt work without play services and still looking for a proper standalone YouTube app. Plus contacts synchronisation app if available.. Rest I have replaced allmost all.

[Guide] How to stop stop an app from "waking" your device

So far I thought that the battery saver feature "close app after lock" is not working because every time I unlock my phone few apps were working. Usually facebook, instagram and viber. My previous phone was Xiaomi and in xiaomi's software there is an option to block an app from auto-starting and waking your device. Well, today I found the same option in our phone. It is deeply hidden, lol. So i thought some of you may like this option. I think this will be good to the battery life of this device. So let me tell you where you can find the option:
Settings > Battery > Consumption level.
Now you see 2 categories - Hardware and Software. Obviously you should look into the software one. Find the facebook app (for example) and click on it. You will see "Settings" and under it you will find:
1) Power-intensive prompt
2) System wakeup
3) Close after screen lock
Now you can change the second option - System wakeup.
I looked through most of the apps and it seems that it works only with the downloaded apps. Not every app wakes your device but these which wakes your device can be blocked from doing it.
Unfortunately, it has been toggle for a long time in my case and it doesn't stop app like Facebook or Instagram to keep the system awake ?

Have you tried greenify with donation package and root? Works for me.
That only work for downloaded applications, not preinstaled. Mr suggestion is to uninstall and then unload again from the store.
