Thanks in advance...i am having trouble with s pen...it is not working on certain part of screen...please help me out. I am on using n910g Norma v5
Which part is it? If it's in the middle right area of the screen, it's the magnetic clip in the case you use. ( I try to be Sherlock )
If it's not, then maybe there is some kind of interference from an external source in this part?
I'm not using any magnetic cover...dont know ..even screen calibration code is not working

Just wondering if anyone else is have this problem. My s pen starts writing from about half an inch from the screen which make sit hard to to write a neat note. A while back i downloaded a smemo.apk for 240 dpi and that when it seem to start doing it I have tried a full flash of stock rom but still doing it.
It happened to me too, Samsung said that it's because some S-pens have trouble on its sensor. You can ask Samsung to change S-pen for you, change until the problem is gone xD. That's what i do with mine.
Ok i thought it might be somethimg like that I ordered one from ebay the other day. thanks
try disabling auto rotation..
and choose again which dominant hand in pen setting..
if you used magnet case it would affect the s pen sensor too..
Your pen is bad, a few of these threads have poped up. With a working pen you can take your fingernail and push in the tip and it will work like yours is, from far, yours is just stuck in.
You can try and take it apart (there is a post around here with instructions) and reset the tip in the rubber grommet it sits in if returning it is a issue.
Touch Screen Tune
I use Touch Screen Tune (for Galaxy note) to fine tune the pen.
And it became much better.

The tip of your s-pen is pushed in and stuck, which makes the pen think you are pushing against the Note. Not sure how to get it unstuck, but that's definitely the issue. It's happened to a couple of people.

I also have the same problem..some guy posted a video on youtube as well..its a faulty spen...
Hi All.
Funny enough i have similar issue. My pen from time to time is oversensitive. I have been playing with it to check when and how does it happens. And i discovered that my spen has an allergy on me. I mean its me or my static charge is affecting it. Whenever i had such an issue i had to touch somethin metal or somebody to discharge myself. Or just put phone on the table. Whenever i broke circuit (i havent touch phone with both hands) or i disperse my charge spen started working again.
If you have such an issue try this out or even pass the phone to somebody else to check if the issue still stays with somebody else. I have been in touch with Samsung and they offered me a new spen so when it arrives i will check this out.
I got the same problem yesterday, i bring my note to SC and the customer service just laugh on me and told me may be my note is the new note 2 because it can hover
Anyway they replace it free of charge, thanks samsung
Oversensitive SPen means that a coil broke inside your pen, whice alterates the internal capacitance. Must be careful when carrying your pen, avoid drop it to the ground and so on...
My Defy's back panel opened accidentally when submerged in water. So i removed battery and all cards. But since i was out of station i couldn't do anything with the phone. For almost 40 hrs water was there inside my phone. I could see it in between the lcd screen and the outer gorilla glass. Gave the phone to a local repair center. They did something to dry out my phone. Now the phone boots up well, all the function and all the radios too are working.
Problem is,
1) screen shows some signs of water damage
2) Left edge of screen almost the left most 1 cm part does not sense touch (Works sometimes)
3) First capacitive button on the left does not work (works sometimes)
4) Proximity sensor does not work (the area where sensor is located looks empty coz notification LED can be seen from this sensor window. Guess the local repair guy fiddled with it)
So i want to repair all this damage done. Is this damage repairable or should i consider replacing any parts. Would replacing the screen be a good idea? where can i buy this screen and the proximity sensor as well
Thanks for your help in advance.
hello
A friend of my had the same accident and he take his phone to repair an they changed the display and now it is working perfectly...

Dude since you are in India buying parts has only one solution - ebay ! However, you may try going to Motorola service center and ask them if the parts can be availed! However, if in Delhi you may go to places like Gaffar market. Probably such places exists in your place too.. The local service guy may be able to tell you about it
Thanks a lot. I think I'll replace the touch screen digitizer. That will leave only the proximity sensor to be something about. I dont think we get this sensor as a spare part anywhere.
One more question. Camera shows inverted images in the display. Any fixes for it?

Did you get any solution for the Proximity sensor?
I´ve got the same problem. Seems like it´s on the motherboard and cant be replaced. Is it true?
On October 23rd I purchased my Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900W8) Canadian variant from Rogers Wireless and after a couple of weeks using the device I noticed two problems.
1) The proximity sensor was always at proximity value 1.0 (ADC value goes from 331 - 1004)
2) The glass screen popped up a little near the sensor area (glass is not glued properly to the chasis) resulting in a small gap (about 0.3mm). Its big enough for me to put a toothpick between the glass screen and the housing.
Now the proximity sensor works fine as I've tested it using the *#0*# and the values are able to go from 300ish to maxed out at 1004 when entirely covered. So this told me it wasn't a dead sensor. After careful examination I found the screen problem and when I used force to push the glass back into the chasis lo' and behold the prox. sensor is functioning as intended!
I sent the device in for warranty repair once stating specifically the screen and the sensor. They took my phone for 2.5 weeks returned it plagued with the same problem. From what I can see, all they did was flash a new firmware (MJ4). Now I can't even root to change the threshold value for the sensor without tripping knox
Any suggestion on how to proceed? Most importantly I want to solve the screen problem.
If its a hardware problem. .. You should get it replaced. .. Take it back to them and show them what is wrong and tell them they done jack to fix it. Please give me new phone NOW! !

It's a problem that many Nexus 4 users have reported. I also have it, but on the bottom 1/3 of the phone, so it covers navbar and above making the phone basically useless. I searched online a lot about this problem that came out of nowhere, and apparently it is caused by a damaged battery in the nexus 4.
Same problem here, Nexus 4
From the outside there is a white line at the edge of the screen.
It looks like a some conductive / capacitive layer of the screen is peeling off and creating this problem and can be related with some adhesive getting loose between the glass and some layer.
Adhesive failure can be related to environment (hot/cold, dry/humid, solar radiation etc) or manufacturing problem.
I live in hot humid area (middle east) and have the nexus 4 for 2 years, maybe it s not designed to last that long under these conditions, anyway manufacturer warranty is long gone.

Do you use a case with a magnetic closure? Magnets will interfere with the S-Pen detection.
Can you draw in that region with your finger?

Sorry for this late...Yes I can draw with finger.
Well, I found that it is the zone where SD card is. I move SD card and lightly tap on the card slot, and suddenly I can draw by stylus in this zone. However, some hours after, this issue comes back once again. I re-tap on the card slot with my finger, after a while, it works again.
It's very strange this issue. Do you know the reason?

No...I dont use any closure.
Today, I had to remove back cover 3 times, and tapped on sd card slot for getting the stylus sensor working again on this zone.
This tip works somehow, but annoying and without understanding the route cause.
Is there something to do with the motherboard? I did think that the stylus sensor depend only on the sensor film and the stylus itself.
