Red spots on phone - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

OK I've owned this phone for a year and suddenly red burn in circles are appearing on my screen. Anybody else have this issue and if not any advice as to how I can remove them? Or is it a service issue that's going to cost me a new screen?. Thanks

If you haven't rooted it, then send it in for warranty repair. If you have rooted it, you'll need to either live with it or replace the screen

It's a known issue. They show up in either red, blue, yellow, or white. Either send it in for warranty or replace the screen.

rooted since day #1

IIrc hardware defects are still covered under the warranty even with bootloader unlock. But I also have one of these dots. Towards the bottom, it's blue. Had it since opening the phone. Was going to send it in for reapir, but I couldn't figure out how to return the phone to stock.

[Q] What happened to my screen ?

I just dropped my wildfire and now it has a weird mark on its screen, Ive rooted it and I' running Cyanogen so i think my warranty is void.
It looks like some kind of watermark in the center of the screen
Please look at the attached image and give me any suggestions of what it could be and how to fix it.
Its about to give up from what it seems. The best bet in my view will be to change the screen. Since this comes under accidental damage, I am pretty sure it is not covered under warranty anyway, but, if you wish to try your luck, Unroot your phone by flashing a RUU from Shipped ROM's which will give you your stock, unrooted phone back.

what would putting it in rice do?
Dry out the water. Rice is said to emit heat when stored due to which it is also used to ripen fruits.
see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8-0ugigDKs for why
Ok, my story. I`ve dropped my phone on the floor about 2 months ago. After that there were stucked pixels on the screen. I`ve run JScreenFix to try to fix them, but in result i`ve got more stuck pixels + some black stripes. Anyway I was running that JScreenFix software just to checkout what will happen next and unfortunately while phone was running program i`ve put it on external hdd with the screen on the bottom. As result i got less those stuck pixels and stripes, so i`ve decided to put my phone on the radiator and run software. After some hours my screen was like new and still it is
Happy end
I hope that my solution will help.
Or you could do a pixel massage

Screen just washed out on epic-help?

Hey guys. I don't know what just happened to my phone, but the screen color just washed out. Everything is in a strange yellow hue and there is a permanent black line on the bottom of the screen above where the launcher sits, even if I'm not on my home screen. Is my epic busted?

most likely you are having a hardware problem. Warranty claim might be in order unless you have TEP.
Yeah bro just take it into sprint. It shouldnt cost u anything as it sounds like a hardware defect. Good luck man.

Also got one in the top left of the screen (aftewr having the phone for only 2 weeks!). Will be taking it in for exchange or repair shortly. It's so small the service center might have trouble seeing it but I know it is there and I find it very annoying! This is not a cheap phone and I expect it to be perfect as I plan to be using it for the next year or 2.

Had one dead pixel as well. Just beleow the clock in the status bar(top right). It was visible only on dark-ish backgrounds. Have given the phone for replacement, hope the new one i get will have a perfect screen :\
Mine has two dead spots , one in the middle one around second row of keyboard.but I guessI am keeping my own as I barely feel them,I don't know even next would be perfect but anyways still this is the best gadget I ever owned.
Btw mine is Polish too.
None here, my screen doesn't seem to have any issues that are hardware related

[q] Black line across the screen

Hello guys like i said there is a black line running horizontally at the bottom of the screen. I did not drop the phone or something to buy it just appeared out of the blue...
It looks like a straight line but am not sure. A very small but a big horizontal line tho when i restarted the phone i could see the pixels change most likely like a dead pixels but i could see the line change kinda. Is it covered in att warranty if i wanna replace it or something or is it repairable?
Any help on this please?

Take it to the store you bought it from. With AT&T there is no telling if they will accept as warrantee or not since its up to each employee it seems. If they won't take it call samsung.

Seeing Home Screen Outline In other pages (Un Sharp Screen)

When I'm in another application with a white screen, I can see an outline of the home screen in the background. (but I'm not on home screen)
This sort of ruins the screen quality and makes the pictures look uneven and ruins the sharpness of the image.
Any ideas?
Original screen.
On 4.3 stock rom.

That should not be happening, I'd call VZW and get it replaced.

I bought this off Craigslist and using with tmobile. I don't think verizon will be honoring warranty unfortunatly.
Would Samsung do an RMA even if I'm not with original carrier?

It's worth a shot, give them a call.
Called Samsung. They say they only do repairs. Anyone done repair with samsung? They said to send in device and tech will first verify problem before any attempt. Will they give me a hard time?

They shouldn't, you'll be without your device for about 2 weeks if you send it to them.
