Hello.
Ive been out of Romming for a couple of years now. So... Im kind of nervous about flashing anything. I bought a MXP this morning and it is running Orion 6.0.1. What is the best way to return to stock? I read the return to stock thread but it was all about 5.1.1 Not sure how that works switching from M back to L. I know some phones and Roms have a difficult time with that. I feel like i'm late to the game with this phone and have so much learning to do with it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

My wife and I likely upgrading our phone's in the next week, maybe sooner. Getting her an S4, and myself likely the Note II.
I was wondering that if I had the phones mailed me, etc. Can I root the device before it is activated?
I don't see why not so long as you remain on a stock ROM

Personally i would get them activated first then root just in case you ran into any problems.
I would wait. Sometimes activation forces a hard reset (especially if you call Sprint when hands-free won't work) and therefore you'd be starting from scratch all over again.

Yeah this is what happened to me when I activated online with them. Wasn't expecting it but at least only had it for all of a hour so could not do much lol

Ok, thanks guys,
I just didn't know if it would matter or benefit to root first before activation. So I guess I'll just active them first and then root.
Any recommended Rom's for the Spring S4?

Ok, guys.. Looks like 4G may finally be rolling out in the buffalo ny area, so likely upgrading the wife to the S4 tonight, and myself likely the Note II.
Its been a while since I had to root anything. So can anyone provide any tips or howto's to rooting the S4 and then installing Sac's rom?

I would suggest waiting until activated to root. Sprint has the S4 set up to hard reset upon activation.
Rooting guide is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257101
Most ROMs will have a how-to-install in the OP of the thread. There are a lot of good dev ROMs out there, but I'm personally running stock rooted. Stock is so good I really don't have the urge to flash a ROM to make things better.
I'm guessing I should just ditch my Verizon note pro 12.2 because there isn't going to be any developer support. Seems like a waste.

Please see Sbreen94's last post in the development threat - [ROM][P900][DEC 31]Hyperdrive KK RLS1.1║Tab S Feature║Total Customization 1 2 3 - - if you decide to ditch your p905v maybe Sbreen94 can use it to develop another excellent Rom for P905 owners. The P900 guys delivered a device to hm and he produced. Maybe thats what needed in this case for the P905 versions.
I also have the 905V, and while I love the tablet, I'm really itching for some development for this thing. Going forward, this will be the last tablet I'll every buy through Verizon because I'm tired of their locking shenanigans.

That's why I went with the Wifi version and carry a hotspot. ROM and root development for tablets already suffer from lower market share but couple that with carrier influence and things are even harder. At the price point this larger tablet comes in its no surprise that development is slower for it.
Sent from my SM-P900 using Tapatalk
Yup, you live, you learn, and I've learned an expensive lesson. I've had the Tablet for 10 months and it's going to my Spouse this summer while I look for something that has more development behind it.
As I understand the 905v has a locked boot loader is easy to root but no flashing
I guess next time it's wifi and a separate hotspot. It really does suck because I bought the lte version mainly for the better processor but it was nice not having to carry around ANOTHER piece of equipment that needed charging. I really do want to love this tablet. Maybe someone will trade me for the rooted wifi version and a hotspot. I think I'd be totally down for that.

No need to be snarky, though I do understand where you are coming from. My SM-P900 is rooted and still on the stock ROM so I don't think it is absolutely necessary to have a custom ROM to get the custom features that they bring. It does take a lot more work though and not having the safety net of custom recovery to restore nandroid backup images or wipe dalvic cache is a big deal.
Sent from my SM-P900 using Tapatalk
Ha ha yea sorry for the snarky thing . I know the expression well ! My thing is so many people complaining about this tablet so why bother getting the thing!
I bought it knowing all about it it suits me down to the ground for all my personal needs in computing so I don't go around being a mardy sod like so many people on this forum. All the best !

Well it's been a while since I have been checking for updates and all. I am still on the stock rooted rom for my Moto X Pure
Running:
5.1.1
Build LPH23.116-18
I just switched over to my LG G3 for a few days and plan on doing some updates to this Moto X.
Do you suggest any Custom ROMS or are you letting the phone update and staying stock rooted.
Stock 5.1.1 is still the smoothest with the best battery life, and very stable. I can't stand MM, because it can't scroll smooth enough for me. It's like scrolling through mud or sand. Custom ROMS are getting buggier by the day. But if you can live without flashlight and video recording, I think it was the 1/15 build of AICP is pretty decent.
Thanks for the info. I will just leave the Moto as is then.
I think I will stick with my LG G3 for a few. There is alot of things that I missed that is did and the Moto does not.

I have a different opinion, I stayed stock MM for a long time and recently flashed a Rom and have been very happy with it. the 01/30 build of the Bliss rom is very stable and smooth. The Camera video works as does the flashlight. Battery seems the same to me. I get bored with stock so I'm liking messing with all the features the rom gives you.
I may try out the Bliss rom then. Nothing to loose I can always TWRP my Original ROM back when ever. I am not using the Moto X right now anyway so let the flashing go. Hell I'm back using my LG G3 and pondering on selling the Moto X Pure. So much I missed with the G3.
If you backup if Lollipop, and you upgrade to the MM bootloader -you can't go back, without the restore to stock tool.

Sorry sold it already got 425 for it.... I guess I won't be in this area of XDA anymore. Time to move one to another phone to play with. Just got to decide what.
Running my LG G3 with Jasmine ROM as my daily driver for now.
.
So lets get an head start on the ROOT for LG G5 ATT. I have started working on it and any help I can get will be appreciated.
I've been poking around a bit, but the thought of needing another kernel for root of marshmallow is kinda out if my knowledge. Main step is to find a way around the boot loader.

If you guys are legit i would totally throw some cash at whoever cracks this baby open
I googled a bit on this topic, most people say Oneclickroot works but I hadn't tried it cause I don't really have faith in too much automation, also I love the process of rooting the phone myself

T-Moblie got root couple weeks ago... Hopefully, ATT will get the same in the next upcoming months
has anyone tried this root method?
Has anyone tried the method at: http://www.thecountrycaller.com/295...tall-twrp-custom-recovery-on-marshmallow-601/
If so, can anyone share their experience?

The H830 is the T-Mobile variant. Those files are for the T-Mobile variant as well. If you did this on our AT&T H820, it'd brick the phone. Do NOT attempt this.

Thank you! This is why this forum rocks -- the article said ATT so I was excited, but, I'm glad you pointed this out before I tried.
Hey guys, I'm considering getting the G5 on ATT. Is anyone working towards root still? Seems pretty quiet around here...

I doubt the AT&T G5 will be getting root anytime soon, or at all. The S7 Edge now has root for AT&T, get that phone. Much better phone anyways IMO with it's bright, beautiful Super AMOLED display.
I already pulled the trigger on the G5... Got it today. My Note 4 has ruined me for Samsung. My LG G3 outperformed the Note 4 in every way except taking pictures despite the Note having 'better hardware' and being newer.
Since it's dead in the G5 forums and S7 has root, devs, and roms, I think i'm going to [sadly] trade.
Heya guys, my phone will soon be outta warranty, so im planing to flash some custom rom. Long period of time passed since last time that i had note 2 and was playful around it, im now completly out of nowadays roms. Any help and recommendation about good roms for n910c will be much appreciated.
I can recommend eRobot. I have zero problems with it (v20). The phone looks much nicer now.
