So, I have had my S7 Edge since launch and use the always on display in night clock mode and clock all day mode. This morning i woke to an ugly gray/green screen. I unlocked the phone and the screen looks OK. I lock it and the screen creeps into the same green/gray screen. Did a factory restore and get the same issue. TMO is sending another one for free but I am wondering if anyone else has seen this. A quick google-fu brings this up a lot but with no resolution. Between me having to send back my Note 7 and now my S7 Edge screen issue I am losing faith in sammy. BTW, edge panel notifications work fine with the screen off as long as I disable all AOD settings.
Im having exactly same problem mate.... ill wait nest update if not fix ill tak back to samsung for a replacement.... 2 months old my phone and rootless all the time....

I have the same issue with my g935f, since yesterday.

So I called tmobile a couple of weeks ago and they sent a phone to a local tmo store for me so I could swap it out. When I got to the store the phone they sent was all scratched on the screen and the fingerprint scanner looked like someone too sandpaper to it. I refused the swap and called tmo and they are sending another. This customer service really stinks.
same issue here just today, planning to go to samsung store for check up -_- hope they replace it since i got my phone 2months ago
Got an update to AOD today, problem still there. No solutions in sight?
Todays update is a real AOD (always on display)
Taken my problematic unit to a Samsung service centre; they couldn't resolve it on the spot, so checked it in for a repair.
without AOD there is no problem?
Had the same issue
It was a bad display
Had it replaced
All good now
Same here, they replaced the screen, all resolved.
Great! Today I got a pink hue and grey/green text on AOD. Night clock has grey/green text only, no pink.
What's the protocol if tripped Knox - rooted and with custom ROM - and encountering this issue?
Will Samsung honour warranty - if I revert to stock or else? Cheers

Hi,
Unfortunately AFAIK a tripped Knox means void warranty... You can try talking with them that the issue you have has nothing to do with Knox and rooting, but the warranty is void I think. Sadly that's the world we currently live in.
Good luck with your phone!
All the best,
~Lord

tripping knox varies from country to country. In Malaysia and India i have claimed warranty with tripped know without any issues.
Just visit service center and claim warranty normally.
What is the solution to this error? thx
Someone? send me to service?

Disabling AOD is not a fix. The device comes with this feature and a software update most likely effed it up. Thus we should demand this feature to be fixed.

3 weeks ago updated my note 3 to newest firmware for h3g UK rooted of course.
Touch, s-pen, sound and even camera stopped working completely after it booted up. I noticed a lot of ghost touches and the phone would do whatever it wanted.
Assumed it may have been a hairline crack in the screen so paid £148 for a replacement, fitted that it still didn't work, Knox had been tripped so I put it back to stock and still no luck.
Sent it into Samsung hoping a hardware warranty fault but ended up paying £150 due to Knox being tripped, just got off the phone to the service centre in UK they have given it a new motherboard and now a level 2 service engineer is replacing something else on the board camera, speaker who knows.
My question is does anyone know what the level 2 engineers actually do?
I was told it would obviously have new official firmware flashed due to new 32gb board put back in, other than that I'm a bit lost for what they're actually doing.

I had a similar experience with my s4 and an update caused some issue where the battery was running out in 4 hours.... tried everything no luck.. so gave to samsung. first tried a new batt which i purchased still no luck .. so then they replaced something and told me to use it.
I still had the same issue .. so they took it back after i complained a lot and said level 2 engineer will work on it. ....
3 weeks later i got my phone and the phone was worse then before.. the camera was not working, the phone would freeze and hangup and the batt issue was still there.
i ended up selling the phone cheap...
lost trust in samsung service ..:crying:
Got my note 3 after a hop to wp8 Lumia ( i know wrong move.. too simple opp system for my taste)
I think second level engineers is just a word they throw around,.. basically the same guys i think who sometimes make things worse ...
what i learnt was Samsung never admits their own firmware issue and says that its a prob wit the phone and will do unnecessary work on the phone and cause more issues..
never gonna take phone back to them specially if its a firmware issue ....
Try to put a mail to Ceos office or some other higher authority of samsung.. maybe they will respond and be more helpful.. ( helped in my friends case recently )
hope you get your phone back soon and working properly bro..
Cheers buddy, they've had it a week said it be back tomorrow, will see how tomorrow goes not getting my hopes up though

Well i have a similar problem but only on the bottom left corner my spen does not work ( 1.5 cm circle)
Well I've had the phone back and according to the engineer its beyond economical repair as its apparently had internal impact damage. Can't see how they've come to this conclusion.
Said they put a new motherboard in and the problem was still there, they refunded me and that was it. I've been fobbed off and not impressed at all so decided to get my money back from the screen and put the whole thing on eBay.
Had enough of Sammy now can't wait out for a nexus 6 so looks like I'm jumping ship to iPhone 6 plus may as well see what the hype is all about

Bought an s4 zoom today only £100 seems ok for what it is, s2 was getting laggy.
Decided to do a reflow on the motherboard oven method, stipped it all down and its warming up now see how it goes, if the board is knaclered like sammy presume then I have nothing to lose so im not bothered
Sent from my SM-C101 using XDA Free mobile app
I can confirm that the reflow killed it off completely.
Not powering on.
No charging animation
Nothing
Dont do this at home kids (unless you have money and arent bothered)

Just a rant here. Had my Galaxy S6 since the pre-order and wife has a S6 Edge. I noticed my camera flash staying lit even if I am not using it, and contacted Samsung US. They told me to do resets and what not, still not being able to fix the issue, they told me to ship the device in.
So I wrapped it in the bubble wrap and securely in the box and sent it off to them. They contacted me and said there's small crack on the screen. I was like WTH? what happened? They do not know, and have no apparent resolution for me. So I told them to just go ahead and diagnosis the camera flash issue and after a week they are telling me they don't see anything abnormal. I told them again what the issue was, and instead of contacting me for further explanation or assistance, I get an email with UPS tracking number saying there's nothing wrong with the device.
Now I have a cracked screen Galaxy S6 coming back to me with no resolution to the issue I had. Sure the Galaxy S6 is exceptional device but man! the warranty on Samsung sucks a**. I even have Samsung protect or whatever that's called that they charge $99 for the two years of warranty. (Similar to applecare+ yet nowhere close to what they are offering..) At least Apple is great with their warranty based on my experience.
Sad thing is, I never had this kind of issues with the service center in Korea when I was there and with any of their galaxy line up... sigh

The LED remaining slightly lit is a known issue and was resolved with a recent software update.
Samsung should resolve the cracked screen issue though.
We have ADH (accidental damage and handling) warranty in South Africa for all Samsung flagship devices, which repairs a cracked / damaged screen for free within the warranty period.
Surely they must do the same in the States, especially since you are paying $99 for Samsung protect!
I'd escelate the issue further!

Agreed, I wish they would contact me and do something about it rather than just telling me the device has no issues and ship the product out to me. I expected them to do a lot better than this. Since my Galaxy is from T-Mobile, I'll probably have to wait til the carrier releases the update to fix the stupid issue. I noticed the issue when I started to search for it while it was in service..

I'd go to T-Mobile, tell them what Samsung did (cracked screen) and complain until you get a new phone.
T-Mobile will laugh at me and tell me that's going to be the issue with the Samsung not them.

Go over to sammobile.com and download the latest firmware for your device. Waiting for the carrier to release an OTA is like waiting for trees to grow... it's gonna take forever!

I know the problem is the T-mobile variant is marked SM-920T not 920F. It'll probably brick the device All these carrier specific Android update grants are killing me. Never had that problem with HTC or Blackberry. ARGH. With the stupid knox trigger I cannot even dare to touch the recovery to flash a different ROMs and I bought the device thinking Samsung pay will be a blast option to have. just my luck smh

Ever since I did T-Mobile's July update for my S7E my phone has been plagued with constant app crashes and resets.
I've tried everything that I was confident couldn't ruin my device anymore.
-Cleared all App Caches
-Factory Reset
-Odin Restore to the same firmware
-Booting into safe mode is still met with app crashes.
I'm not sure it's safe to try and roll back to the old firmware with Odin without tripping Knox.
I currently pay for JUMP so I do have insurance, but my device screen has been cracked for over 2 months so sadly no warranty.
Has anyone else encountered the same problem?

The JUMP I pay for includes accidental damage insurance
Damn with a cracked screen you're stuck doing an insurance claim. You don't even have to go into a T-Mobile store since it's all done through a 3rd party, you can start your claim at myphpinfo.com.
Sucks that the update broke your phone though. Doesn't happen often but you always hear about it happening every now and then. Maybe a Samsung mobile store will have luck in fixing your issues but I doubt it.
Hi. So I got an S7e, the European exynos version, but I live in the US. I got it unlocked from the official Samsung Amazon. I rooted it soon after I got it and everything was going fine. Fast forward a few months, and I just got the infamous pink line. What is the process of getting it replaced through the NYC repair center? Do I just walk in with the phone, they see the pink line, see that it has no damage and just give me a new phone? Or will they check knox and not replace it? What are my best options here?
Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions, but this is my first android phone.
p.s. I have tried all the "solutions". Resetting pixels worked for a couple days, and pressing the Samsung logo worked for a couple more days after that. Now its back, and it's much thicker that it was before and a darker shade. Nothing I do makes it go away, so replacing the phone is my last option.
Thanks!
Samsung acknowledges that the pink line is a know issue, but will only repair / replace devices that are still under warranty, and show no obvious signs of damage caused by dropping.
Unfortunately, if you have a rooted phone that tripped Knox, then you voided any and all warranty offered by Samsung.
You can download KNOX Status Samsung from the play store and run that, it is a read only program that will show you if KNOX has been tripped because of the root.
If KNOX comes back good, then you will most likely have to re-flash your phone with an official Android firmware prior to taking it in to a Samsung store. Even if KNOX comes back good, if the employees see any signs of custom firmware or rooting, then you will be responsible for paying the bill for parts & labor.
You can try to either replace the screen yourself, or I'm sure there has to be a cellular repair facility around that might do it.
Just for reference

I had the same problem...my local repair shop wanted $399+tax for screen and digitizer repair guaranteed.
I just bought a new one for 140 more. I figured I might as well bite that bullet instead of the repair route.
I realize not all can do that but my new G9365F unlocked came with nougat already and I had that sucker Installed with TWRP and SuperSu in less than 5 minutes.
That pink line drove me nuts.

****, thanks. I'm assuming that means that triangle away isn't gonna help me, since knox is a efuse? Do you know what will happen if I unroot and hand it in? Worst case scenario they just tell me that the device is out of warranty and hand the phone back right?

Ahhhh therein lies the rub... I dropped mine and didn't notice the small hairline crack on the very upper left side. Within a few days the pink line emerged and just like yours soon developed into a 3mil line light purple in color.
I'm pretty confident that's what caused it.
I had no worries about buying another.

Triangle away doesn't work on these devices and since your Knox is tripped the warranty is void. Even returning to stock won't fix the blown Efuse.

If you unroot it, then it's definitely worth at least taking it to the store and seeing what they can do.
Worst case, like you said, is they don't repair it because of Knox (efuse, I like that!).
Who knows, maybe you'll get lucky and the techs there won't check it or something, and it gets fixed on Samsungs dime.

I have this phone now since 1½ years and the Nav and Statusbar are burnt in (very noticable). Is Huawei (or Google? ) Replacing such errors? My phone has warranty until March 2018. Has anyone succesfully got his screen replaced by them or are they replacing the whole phone?
Thanks.
Where did you purchase the 6P? I've heard of some getting replaced or repaired due to burn in but that was after much less than 1.5 years. You should try to start RMA and see what happens. If you do get it repaired or replaced you should use immersive mode to prevent status and navbar burn in.

You should contact the carrier. Huawei is known for terrible customer service and Google usually handles warranty claims for devices purchased directly from Google.

Don't think I have ever heard of anyone getting any type of free replacement from having burn in. If someone left their screen on over night and it happened, people could just use warranty for something that's not a defect. They (mfg) would more than likely charge $150ish for a screen replacement, which you could probably fond a place locally to do for that price or cheaper.
You've already tried to remove the burn in I take it ?
