Hi everyone. I am from India. After the recent BPH7 update i am having lots of issues with the new gallery.
It just freezes at least 4 to 5 times a day. I have to restart my phone to solve it. Infact today its freezed wveytime i tried to open it.
I had clicked some lovely pics 3 days ago. However when i tried to see them on my gallery, I just couldnt see the clarity after zooming in. They all are blurred. Earlier they werent.
Any solutions? Hard reset seems the only solution .
Any response? The gallery invariably freezes everytime i open it.
I had that issue but a quick reboot fixed it for me.
I'm on complete stock with the EU Exynos version if that's relevant.
Suggestion: try taking your memory card out and see if you can see any photos stored on your internal storage; this would help you eliminate the possibility of it being a slow/faulty memory card however unlikely that is.
However, if you have the same issue, I'd recommend a hard reset as that usually does the trick.
Try connecting it to Samsung Smart Switch or whatever their PC companion program is called now, back everything up of course.
Good luck buddy!

Hey all long time reader first time poster. I have recently run into a rather cumbersome issue when dealing with my Rooted Rogers Galaxy Note 3 running 4.3, What seems to be the issue is that when i try to open Gallery it will freeze up and crash, The second is that trying to open up Camera, will 9/10 Bring up the camera buttons, but the view finder will show an image of my home screen. If able to connect the the Camera the UI doesnt respond either.
I have done many things to try and fix this going as far as
Deleting the Data and Caches of Gallery, Camera, and Media Storage ( to no avail)
Multiple Reboots ( To No Avail)
Hours of searching here and on google ( to no avail)
So now i come to you guys, in effort to hopefully understand why this is going on.
The only other question i have is would updgrading to 4.4 possibly break it out of its issues?
Thanks in advance :3
Hello guys.
So my Note 4 started freezing before 1 week, the phone was so great without any issues, suddenly the phone started freezing SO BAD and sometimes restarting, so I decided to do a factory reset, I did it twice and I also wiped cache but the phone is still freezing! The phone has stock android and never rooted it.
Any one else is facing this issues also? Help
I have this problem too, random freezes at random time since 1 week. Tried almost every ROM and even tried the stock firmware again, same problems. Please someone help us ;~;!
I have the same issue when typing, I'm using the google keyboard and when ever I'm typing a message it always catches up. It freezes mid typing and you see the line blinking like its wait for you to type and a couple seconds later is catches up.
I had similar issues, turned out to be a problem with SD card, plug it into your pc and do the SD card check for error.
Exynos or Snapdragon model?
I have Exynos, same issue, N910C

I had this same problem with both note 3 and note 4. Turned out it was the micro sd card i used the same card on both devices. It was a fake samsung card nought from amazon.
I've also got something similar. 910F. Lagging regularly, sometimes so bad the phone restarts itself. Today has been the worst of all, about 5 reboots during the day and frequent lag when it is working.
So far tried changing batteries, removing SD card, uninstalling most recent apps and those which tend to generate notifications, a wipe (without restoring apps/data for everything).
Running out of options now, just tried turning off finger print scanner and svoice to see if that helps at all.
Feels like it must be an app (google?) that updated recently and is causing issues, I definitely get more lag when using google applications (play, chrome etc).
Sometimes when I'm shooting photos, camera freezes for few seconds and I can't take any photo or video, sometimes the UI disappears. And if I check in the gallery app I don't have the last ones. I have to reboot or to wait few minutes to get the photos back in the gallery. It happens using internal or SD card memory, and wiping cache or data doesn't fix the problem. I noticed that Aida64 can't find the camera in devices tab. Anyone with same problem? Or any solution?
Hate to say it, but that's a hardware issue. I would try factory reset just to see if that helps, but I suspect it's hardware, and you should return it under warranty.

You can try check "original camera": Press *#0*#, Mega cam.
If no problems, you can hardreset the phone. (I think that's a hardware issue).

Tried and no problems. I flashed few days ago the official firmware because i had this problems previously, but nothing changed. Is that the same as hardreset?
I noticed that sometimes phone freezes while deleting photos from gallery, no matter if they are in SD or internal storage.
Something wrong your phone, and I believe it is hardware defective. You shall go find the shop you buy or send for service.

To fix software, Flashing is final method. So it is hardware issue. U should return it under warranty. Ok
Hi all. I've done a search on this issue in this forum and didn't come across any threads, so I'm hoping someone can help me out.
Two months ago my husband broke down and turned in his firestarter for the V20. Everything transferred fine and life was good until the last few days. His phone has an SD card in it, and both the device and card have pics and videos that have either been taken with the v20 or with previous phones. For some reason sporadic pics/videos won't work now. HE can literally take 5 pics, see them fine in the gallery, try to open 3 of them, and they will hang when opening. Videos will give a 'can't load video message'.
I've tried moving them to either the card or the device, turning off cloud backup, downloading a different video player, changing the default apps. I also have a v20 and put his card in my phone and they worked fine.
Please, any suggestions to help me fix this would be greatly appreciated. I'm not afraid to dig as I'm a net admin by trade, but I'm an Android novice (my stuff always just works!) & don't want to brick this thing trying to fix it.
You usually can't go wrong trying a factory reset, I'd give that a shot. But if that does nothing for you, I'd guess it's maybe a hardware problem, since the media all opens fine on your own V20...
My phone lags terribly especially with the camera. Sometimes the double tap camera shortcut doesn't work at all. Most of the time it takes a few seconds to load my camera even with all apps closed except the camera app. It likes to show I took a picture but then it's not saved. Like it will show it on the preview bubble on camera app and then won't be in the gallery. So I've missed out on a lot of pics I thought I took. It also likes to lag in taking pictures in general. I've tried both intern and external storage. My internal storage is 12gb/24.9 so that shouldn't be an issue. I factory reset my phone a week ago and it was fine off and on for a few days. Now it's back to being a lagging POS. Anyone else have this issue? I've never had this issue with my S4 or Note 4.
Did you just recently buy the phone? What you're describing sounds like it has the engineering firmware flashed.
Nope I bought it new the first week it came out and I haven't flashed any firmware. I usually do but the effort for the S7 Edge wasn't worth it.
