Hi all,
I recently bought a Cheap Chinese HU, but im not that happy with it, so im loking for another one.
Features i wish to have:
-Designed for the VW format
-Custom Roms
-Seperated Subwoofer output
-2 gig Ram if its possible.
-No disturbing noises
-"fast" boot
-Bluetooth audo
-Good working wireless
-Spotify should be running good( maybe can i set this as standart app, so everytime i boot the HU up, it should automaticly start(its just a nice to have))
I really dont give much about radio, so it doesent matter if that dont work well...
I hope someone can help me to choose the right one.
only option for 2GB of RAM is probably In-Dash.net, and it is relatively new, so probably still buggy.
What Cheap Chinese unit did you get?
"fast boot" - probably not going to happen. All of them hover around 20 to 30 seconds.
i dont have a VW, but I have a Jeep and have a Joying specific for the Jeep, all of those other items are solved with the Joying 5.1 MTCD:
The should have a VW version
I use Malaysk ROM v4 and it works fine
My sub and amp are tapped into the existing speaker wiring, but the Joying does have a separate subwoofer RCA port
I dont have any noises
Bluetooth for music works great. Bluetooth for phone works, but is mono, so it only comes out of one speaker. Works fine, but sounds odd at first, I'm used to it at this point
Wifi is strong, picks up my house wifi from my Driveway.
Spotify works like a champ, allows you to download to the SD card. I use it every day
this the one I got for my Jeep:
https://smile.amazon.com/Challenger...F8&qid=1472658147&sr=8-1&keywords=joying+jeep
I would assume they have a comparable one for VW, probably this one:

There's a ginourmous thread here on the Newsmys and my two work great. Never had an issue flashing the custom ROM. They are not perfect but I think you should look into them a bit more before condemning them and me.
To the OP in case you are interested I gave my thoughts on the Newsmys here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68222210&postcount=20

I got the Joying UL 135 with Lollipop 5.1.1 just installed.
It was a super-easy installation as my old Toyota 4Runner from 2000 had ISO cables installed earlier. Plug&Play!
I have not found anything not working except that I don't know how to clear Bluetooth devices from the list of ones I have once connected and the Bluetooth OBD2 plug is shown as connected even hours after I have unplugged it.
The device is ROOT'ed when it comes.

Hey,
I would love to see a photo of your install. I'm currently researching what to do for a 2002 Tacoma (same stereo layout and bezel). I was worried that the curved edges of the bezel would be an issue - was it an easy install for you?
Thanks!!

130 sounds like a Jeep radio. Chrysler used the same 130/430/730 for Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep for many years.
I had a 430N and replaced it with a Joying jeep specific unit and I love it:

Hey, was wondering what your thoughts are on the buttons and the volume knob? I see your unit is recessed a little, just wondering if those controls are easy enough to use?
I have an 06 Civic SI that I'm looking to get one of these for, and that's one of my main concerns. I really like having hardware volume controls.

HI,
The volume knob is just a rotary encoder which is monitored by the OS so it's implemented in software although the user interface is a piece of physical hardware.
Why are you concerned about this? I don't even use it, I just use the steering wheel controls.

It has to be fitted to be able to delete it from the list.
Yes, I had this issue too until the last software update. Things seem to be a bit quicker and smoother too.

Steering wheel controls are fine until you've got the wheel turned. i don't know, just like to be able to reach over without looking and spin a volume knob. just a personal preference.

i too like to have a volume knob. I use my steering wheel controls, but i also frequently use the knob
Okay, well it's there. The volume can be controlled via the steering wheel, the volume knob and vis the touch screen. A momentary press of the volume knob mutes the system, and 2-3 second press will shut the system down.

Hi,
I have got the carjoying UL 135 too and I am pretty satisfied.
Nevertheless, sometime I experience incredibly slow operations. When it comes, I have to wait many seconds (10 or 20) when I launch an app like Waze in a way that I can utilize as expected. I use the Rocket icon to clear operating but it is the same. I think 1 GB is not enough.
Have you experienced this?
Hi everyone,
It's my first message on this forum, so I'm sorry if i am in the wrong thread.
I'm currently looking to buy an android head unit for my 2010 Mazda (French model).
I'm interested by the Eonon GA6163F but I've seen in an other thread that the screen is really dim : here.
So, do you have some tips for me ? And if possible, I want a device that can run Tomtom GO Mobile correctly which is my favorite GPS. Currently, I have a Tomtom GO 6100 but i want to replace it by an android head unit that fits better.
My budget is 500 USD.
Thanks for the help, really appreciate it.
Best regards.
Hi guys,
For those who want to know, I bought an Eonon GA6163F finally.
It works really good in my Mazda 3 (no screen problem etc...) and my reverse camera also.
I installed the latest Malaysk ROM to use Tomtom GO and it works like a charm.
If some of you have questions about this unit, maybe I can reply and do not hesitate to PM me.
Have a nice day !

I used nearly the same installation to the same we can see in this video :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LKZ0mf14nM
I have simply push the the red wire with the red wire and the black wire with the black wire of the parking light. Then I put a scotch tape on that and that works really good. I can take some pictures if you want.

As I said, i didn't plugged the external microphone because the integrated micro of my head unit works good.
But I think It is not hard to pass the cable behind the plastic around the windscreen.
If the problem is how to get the cable out from the head unit, just drill the gloves box like in this video at 5:25 :

Hello,
3 years are gone, so I would like to refresh the question.
I have also Mazda 3 2010 hatchback.
I have already an android radio, but it is really slow, so I am considering to buy a new one, but exactly I am not sure which is the most stable...
Could you please let me your actual opinion or even better - your experience?
I am strongly considering this one- see attached pdf , page 8, model Junsun V1 Pro.
Can someone at least comment if my proposed radio model makes sense, looks like will work good, etc.? Maybe someone has experience with it or similar one?
Hi guys!
Finally it looks like I'm going to replace my car, and I'm going to take my a amplifier and components to a new car, but not the head unit. I'm seeking to buy a new android head unit, and found this one on eBay:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/25369100...7d776fc1640a9cbe7502037fff88436&ul_noapp=true
The main issue is that unit should fit Volkswagen Jetta and should have pre out, so it will be connected to external amplifier.
What do you think about unit I mentioned above? Any other suggestions?
Thank you

so if i have VW, i must look for the HU compatible specifically with VW?
Hi guys!
I'm waking up my thread. Almost month ago i got this unit https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-2-4G-...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649, it should be (according to description) be compatible with my VW Jetta 2015. But once it was installed and connected it behaves little bit strange: all car info (such as doors status for example) and steering wheel control works till the engine starts. When engine was started all these things stopped shown and work. I checked that power cable is not connected, and the seller sent me a new CANBUS, but it still doesn't work. I will appreciate any help on this issue
Thank you
Solved - just used the canbus decoder from previous installed system
I have been looking at getting a wondefoo android head unit for my Toyota Sienna. It looks like it has good specs (PX5 chipset, 4gb ram, 32gb storage) and the seller has quite a big selection of HU's on aliexpress for different cars but I can't find that many reviews of wondefoo units as compared to xtrons or seicane. Have any of you tried one of their units before and if so how was it?
I'm also looking at one. I know that this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/IPS...pm=a2g0s.13010208.99999999.280.2f743c0098GCRV is MTCD based.

I have this one from youmecity on aliexpress and find it to be superior in every way.. My previous one, the one that you are looking at, did not really have Android 8, it was Android 6, hacked to appear as 8. This one is also cheaper and ships free. Got mine in less than a week. Also their customer service is outstanding - they respond same day . I have had several of these Asian units and this is the first one that has been trouble free and is really acceptable, to me.
It also supports an external USB HD of up to 500MB. I have a Samsung 500GB SSD behind the dash and it works fine. I have no complaints and it has been in use since 1-1-2018.
thanks for the reply cardio77.
I was hoping for a unit with volume and tuning knobs, as my Rav4 doesn't have steering wheel controls for the audio. I was also hoping to go with a PX5 SoC as opposed the All Winner.
The hacking to make Android 6 appear as Android 8 is quite worrying though...

You could install malaysk rom on that system because it has an sd card slot, which should definitely get you android 8 as far as I know All the systems for the Sienna don't have a sd card slot so unless theres a way to install malaysk rom with usb or an adapter I'm gonna be stuck with the factory firmware.
I have ordered one of these with 4GB RAM and 16GB flash. I will keep everyone posted after it shows up.

My head unit showed up yesterday, and I opened it today. It looks to be of reasonable quality, other than the word phone being misspelled on the button (lol). However, I've taken a look at the pinouts listed on the sticker on the top of the unit, and it appears the wiring harness is missing the wires for Canbus. Am I correct to assume that these would be the wires for steering wheel audio controls? I don't have them in my car, but I was considering adding one of the aftermarket ones.
Here's a link to photo with of the back of harness, front of the harness and pinouts on the unit:

Is there a way I could wire them up myself?
I have one in my Alfa Romeo 159 with Malaysk 8.0 Rom installed. All ok, working pretty good.
Ah, I've realized that steering wheel remotes use the Key1 and Key2 lines. What's the best way to tap into these the wires in the harness?
Does anybody know where I should tap into wires for the following connections? They are on my harness, but I'm not sure where to connect them:
Amp-con - amplifier control
Ant
Tv-ir = ?
Back-car - reverse signal
Auto-ant - auto antenna power
Brake-ctl - hand break signal
Not a great start with this unit so far. I can't seem to enable WiFi on it, and when I look in the advanced network settings, the MAC address looks like it doesn't have a WiFi adapter at all.

I now have 2 of them and no problems with wifi at all. The WiFi setting is on the home screen of both of mine, as is bluetooth. Settings can also be pulled down from the top of the screen just like any android phone. WiFi reception is much better than on my previous Joying HU. It is not 802.11 AC but 30~ 40 MBPS from about 60 feet from my access point in the house. I also found that you can use an ethernet to USB adapter for much faster results for downloading software and updates. I just run a cable out the door into the car and I get 400 MBPS +.

the Bluetooth isn't working either. I suspect I've gotten defective unit. I'm following up with the seller.

Yeah, I had no trouble finding the setting to turn wifi on, but it won't turn on when I tap on the button. I suspect the wifi and Bluetooth are defective.

The seller says the wifi board (chip?) maybe unseated and is going to send me a video showing how to reset it. I hope that this is the problem and I can fix it.

Well, I finally got a chance to get the head unit out of my car today to try to reseat the board, and it appears to have worked. I'm surprised because it really didn't feel out of place at all, but it seems to be working fine now.
well, the Wifi failed again, so I tried the same thing, and it now appears that the screen is messed up. I've done a quick check of the ribbon cables connecting the screen to boards, and nothing seems out of place. Here's a photo of the screen now

Any idea how what I might have done?
DO NOT TRUST THIS SELLER. It looks like a frauder. I paid a navigation and after 1 mount the item is not even shipped. Now i am trying to get my moeny back.
Hey guys!
Been looking at a lot of android units, but have narrowed it down to two, one being a Wondefoo. The listing says the mic won't work with 'OK Google' etc. only for Bluetooth. Can anyone confirm? Is this the case with all android units?
Thanks in advance.
I am adding new information immediately below, enclosed by brackets and above my original comments!
[I bought a second Android generic Chinese radio and it also had the same issue with no audio when using Aux In. After some back and forth with the seller, I got a response that the seller contacted the manufacturer, and the seller was told the Aux In feature was no longer supported. I've asked if the seller can find out how/why.
I would really like to hear from anyone who has bought any one of the many generic Android radios off eBay or Amazon and if they have tried the Aux In function and what results were observed. Thanks!!]
Original Comments:
I've recently installed an Android radio, OS 9.1 with 10.1 inch screen and most everything works great except for the Auxiliary Input.
I get no audio at all using Aux In. I've tried two different mp3 players and two different 'mini phono to RCA' adapter cables - plus I know both of those adapter cables are good because of having used them elsewhere. The audio from the mp3 player is enabled to be played on this Android radio by use of the "Avin" app, which of course I've tried. I've ensured the volume on the mp3 player is turned up, and I have verified the mp3 player does indeed have sound output by using earbuds.
Most everything else on the radio works great - radio, USB functionality, navigation, backup camera etc. But it is interesting to note that nothing works on the one connector which has the RCA jacks for Aux In, Audio Out, and Video In......the audio out RCA jacks don't put out sound to a device capable of using it, and the video in jacks display nothing on the screen of the Android radio when a video input is provided. I have ensured multiple times the connector which has these features is fully plugged in and seated properly in the radio. All of the pigtail wires associated with this connector look good, and I see no pushed pins or other anomalies.
U found fox yet? I have some problem it works only with aux out but have two streams of music eg radio and ipod
any update with this? I got issue too
Same issue here.

Must be a "generic radio" thing. I have a Dasaita and AUX in (called AVin) works fine.
You do need a "AVin" app (or similar) for it to work though. Are these "generic radios" missing the aux or "avin" apps?

I can't seem to find it. I read in another post that when you enable the front camera, it changes...from aux to front av.
I haven't test it, asked the seller, but haven't got ta response...language barrier plus time difference is a hassle.
I'm gonna look for avin or similar....
Or there is a apk for that

On my device AVIN has always been there from the factory. The app that you speak of when you enable the front cam is F CAM. With front cam enabled the F CAM app is visible. With the front cam disabled then F CAM is no longer visible, but my AVIN is always there regardless

You can install any app. The question is; will it work.
This particular AVIN app is a Dasaita specific app built for Dasaita machines and it doesn't come from the google app store. You need to find the app that works with your machine... if you can find one that works at all.
That's the problem with these "generic" machines. Most of the time they are put together by resellers who don't include all the software.

Yes I've been noticing...
I'll try to talk to the seller patiently and see how it goes...
