New android head unit - Android Head-Units

Hi guys!
Finally it looks like I'm going to replace my car, and I'm going to take my a amplifier and components to a new car, but not the head unit. I'm seeking to buy a new android head unit, and found this one on eBay:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/25369100...7d776fc1640a9cbe7502037fff88436&ul_noapp=true
The main issue is that unit should fit Volkswagen Jetta and should have pre out, so it will be connected to external amplifier.
What do you think about unit I mentioned above? Any other suggestions?
Thank you

I have one of the smartech ones from ali express which I am impressed with

Thanx for advice!
I see that all these units can be connected with standard connector (i think it calls ISO connector), and also there are RCA outputs. Are these RCA outputs come before the internal amplifier and can be connected to external amplifier?
Thank you

All units can use an external amplifier. all of them have RCA for this.
All the specialised units like volkswagen, mercedes come with Quad lock and not standard ISO tho.

so if i have VW, i must look for the HU compatible specifically with VW?

Hi guys!
I'm waking up my thread. Almost month ago i got this unit https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-2-4G-...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649, it should be (according to description) be compatible with my VW Jetta 2015. But once it was installed and connected it behaves little bit strange: all car info (such as doors status for example) and steering wheel control works till the engine starts. When engine was started all these things stopped shown and work. I checked that power cable is not connected, and the seller sent me a new CANBUS, but it still doesn't work. I will appreciate any help on this issue
Thank you

Solved - just used the canbus decoder from previous installed system

CanBus Adapters For Intel Sofia Unit?

Hi
I recently purchased a Joying JY-ML001N2 unit, anyone know if the CanBus Adapter for the Intel Sofia units is universal? As my headunits harness has the connector on the end of it but was not provided with the unit.
I see that it has setting in hidden menu for the Mazda 3, and my car does support it as it is replacing a MTCC unit that had the CanBus.
Been tempted to try the MTCC adapter on it, as the plug is the same but don't wait to fry my unit if it is wrong. Thanks in advance

I have tried applying the canbus adapter from MTCD for Toyota on the joying intel and it doesn't work to provide car information. It must be something to do with the specific decoder. We should urge joying to implement wider canbus support since it's obvious their unit is capable. I know they have canbus support for Volkswagen.

Does Joying have any specific unit for your car? Maybe you can deal with them

Cheers that's some handy information, saved me pulling apart my dash again to test my MTCC CanBus Box.
I have sent a few emails to Joying if they have CanBus Boxes.
By the looks of it they are all universal and have different firmware flashed to the CanBus Box.
There is a option in the hidden menu to update the CanBus Box, possibly they might be able to give your the files to update your MTCD CanBox to match your car. And the pin out might be slightly different.
Also I know for my car there is 4 different CanBus option to choose from, so if you only tried one, probably try the rest.

This picture is from Joying email support describing the function of the pins for their typical canbus decoder box. The unmarked pins on the canbus decoder box are unused according to Joying support. Perhaps this information can be useful when cross referencing with previous wiring on MTCD/C that had canbus support

It will keep ALL the original functions of your car. thats how these units work.
You dont need adapters or anything, ive installed one of them in a F15 X5. And it works great tbh. easy to use.
When installing it can be a tight fit with the cables. And remember to move the fiber optic cables to the new quad lock connector, and you will be good to go

Sorry, I was blind ... you are right
BTW, do you know if it's working with stock GPS antenna from my car ? ... as I see it they provide a GPS antenna also
EDIT :
I still have 2 years of BMW Premium warranty, do you think by installing this unit I'll loses the warranty ? Thanks !
The original BMW radio has the stock gps antenna, you can put it on the new unit, but then the original wont have gps signal.
Or you can just place the gps antenna with that unit, behind the screen. hidden and it will get good gps signal
I do not think its messing with warranty no.

New plug on back of Dasaita PX6?

The new Dasaita 10 inch PX6 (HA2158-MAX6) has an rca out put on it which is not on my PX5. A blue plug labeled "MID out"
Does anybody know what that is?

duh
It is for an amp to run your "mid range speakers"
Midrange "speakerS??
Never heard of a "midrange speaker" output on a head unit before..... and I have had lots of them.
If that's what it is, It would be a first.
What did the reseller say about it?

After 2 emails and no answers, I gave up asking
Interesting...
There seems to be a bit more detail in the sales description...
Special Features
Fast boot functions, 1 Second ( warm start only)
Build in GPS/Wifi/Radio
Two Camera input ,front/rear
Full HDMI output for headrest
1 Sub 1 Mid 4 Audio Output (2V)
3 USB output ,1.5A Each
RGB button illuminations

So it's definitely an audio output and it's output I believe is higher. I believe the standard gain output on the RCA's for these android head units is 1.4 volts.
What result do you get when plugging an amp/speakers into it?
It's a center channel for a single speaker like on a home theater 5.1 surround sound system. Notice there's only 1 channel for the sub as well. They have the same thing on Ownice K3 but they used the correct name.

That's the only thing that makes sense to me, but why you would have one on an automotive head unit and where you would actually mount a 'center' channel is beyond me. Subwoofers you can mount just about anywhere because low frequencies are not very directional. But once you get into "mid" and particularly high frequencies, they're highly directional and speaker location becomes somewhat crucial.
It is quite interesting none the less.
It might be fun to play around with it. Problem is I drive a jeep. Not much room in a jeep and you can't attach things to the (removable) top or have speakers in the (removable) doors.
Is it possible on Dasaita MAX6, to play the audio mp3 track present on a USB stick and make them come out from the HDMI output?

I am interested too, I have connected the HDMI output to a monitor with speakers and no audio was audible. I'm researching about HDMI output spec for PX6.
Any help is appreciated.
Got my max6 yesterday. Both the green and blue are labelled Sub for me. But newer cars have a center speaker dedicated to calls, so I'm guessing mid is a full range center output which you COULD use for a sub? probably going to hook up the center as the second input to save me using an RCA Y- splitter for my two channel amp to drive my two subs.

Did you find any solution?
Hi! I have the same problem with TPMS device USB connectivity with Android multimedia head unit. I tried everything, but so far no result.
Did you find any solution?
Hi! I have exact the same product and i see exact the same pictures, that means I have the same issue on my head unit PX6 with Android 11. I also updated the app to the newer version without any result. Any idea someone?
Hi, I didn't solve the issue. I have tried TPMS on two other car Android multimedia with Android 6 and 7 versions, but without any success.
Do you guys own the TPMS from the head unit seller?
If not there is most probably the issue.
There are wo many aftermarket TPMS... and the head unit supplier just implements their own stuff. Also OEM TPMS are mostly not supported.
TPMS is not from the head unit seller. Supposedly it should work with Android car aftermarket multimedia, but it seems that's not the case.

Exactly!
If I have a look at the provided pictures... It seems to be clear: The TPMS on the wheels are not connected. They need to get activated wheel by wheel.
So go through the settings of this app and try to get them activated. Ask the reseller how to activate if that is not written anywhere. If this is not possible: Send them back and get your money back.

Sorry, byt this is not correct. I 've tried everything, but the problem is not the avtivation of the sensors. The usb receiver can not be recognized by the HU. The app runs, you can choose the wheel sensor to connect, but nothing happens. The power light on the receiver flashes as before, and nothing more. Thanks anyway!

VW 2009 Multivan canbus problem

Hi i purchased this unit https://www.aliexpress.com/item/[email protected]!!im
for my 2009 VW Multivan, The unit has the PX5 Software with Android 10 and i can't make it to display car information on the head unit, the steering wheel buttons are working fine also when i turn on the car lights, the unit also light's the buttons, meaning there is a CAN communication but i can't make it read information as doors, voltage, AC, etc.
I tried all the VW profiles at factory settings with no luck. Are there any suggestions of how to solve it?
Thanks

If I read the text at Ali, there is no single word written about car functions.
That what they offer is working... your steering wheel... nothing else did they offer...

In most cases the firmware needs to be developed to show the information as an overlay or pop up message.
May be there is someone here who has a VW which shows the information on the screen and you both can compare the content of the firmware and may be you are able to use another firmware from Joying on your unit.
I´m out here, because I don´t have a VW.
By the way...
As this unit is a PX5, you may be wrong in this forum.... May be post a picture of the "About Tablet" where we can see the MCU version of your unit.

Well... I think you have one of these units you can´t change a lot.
There are some threads already open in this forum, so try to search for MF1-px5
Nothing I can support with this kind of unit.
