From where to buy S7 edge screen ? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hello,
I know this is not the first thread about this problem. I've read a lot and I didn't find a solution for my problem.
In shorts: Dropped the phone on dog field of grass, unfortunately there was a rock and the screen is cracked.
I am in Alaska, for the summer and here the internet is really bad, that's why I am not wasting time anymore and making this thread. I contacted Samsung and they told me the replacement would cost around 180-250$ and they CAN NOT fix it because it is Internationally Unlocked version (I am from Bulgaria, Europe. And I am going home after 1 month). I contacted 2 companies in USA fixing screens, but they told me 350$.
So I am looking to buy a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge screen, but I do not know which source should I trust and I am begging for help. My idea is to get the screen cheaper and back in Bulgaria I will give it to be fixed cheaper.
Thank you previously !!!

I cracked my screen!! :-((

HELP!!!!!
Yesterday I was foolishly playing around with my MDA Vario and it fell from my hands...onto the hard floor. Now the display is cracked (mind you, NOT the LCD!!!!!Just the glasstop, digitizer, lense or whatever you call it). It still works perfectly but when I press with the stylus over the crack it just freaks out. End of the day: I can use it but I can't play with it. I spent AGES googling for a solution but apparently all I can find is LCD replacements (which actually DO include the screen...but cost 3 times asmuch). Anybody can help? please.........I'm desperate!

What a bummer!
HTC europe and usa are selling parts give them a call and see if any joy
see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=49361
and here http://www.htceurope.com/uk/
Ouch! I'd be kicking myself if that happened to me!
Hope it won't cost too much get it repaired
PS. Doesn't your Olympus C150/D390 have an upclose (or "Flower") mode? You'll be able to get clearer shots if you select it.
Got it repaired!!!!!!!For "only" 70 pounds... I went to a shop in South Wimbledon and they made it on the spot for me. As a matter of fact they changed my LCD too (they tried to put just the display but apparently there was a "ribbon color" problem). Nevertheless, I got my UNbroken LCD back as well, so now I'll try to sell it and make a bit of money (7o quids for a piece of glass is a bit toomuch, uh?).
Considering that after HOURS of research I had found nothing better than a 169 euro full repair (LCD+glasstop) -in Germany...- I reckon the £70 was not a rip off anyway. I missed a beat when I saw that crack yesterday, and I swore to myself I'd get my baby back in action...with less than 100 pounds. Mission accomplished ;-)
If any of you guys (AND I DO HOPE YOU DON'T) breaks JUST the LCD (but not the glasstop), let me know and we can work out a nice price for both you and me (I have a spare LCD now...And if you read till here you might be in need of one!).
my e-mail [email protected]
p.s. Thanx to the forum I found answers to ALL my queries...but how comes NOBODY before me broke his glasstop?!?Am I the only silly one who made it?? ;-(
ciao guys and thanx for your help anyway (btw: htc europe was USELESS and no, I have no little flower on my girlfreind's sad OLYMPUS camera!)
cracking and hacking are forbidden here in this site, so please dont crack your screen again
70 pounds are really tooooooooo much for a broken peice of glass, but what else can you do? you have to buy it!!! any way, congratulations you have solved the issue finally.

Sorry for your sceen!
Were did you find you "emule" skin?
Thanks
Seb.
I took my phone back to O2, I had no insurance, so i was expecting to have to pay to get it repaired (the girl behind the counter looked at me like i was insane to try and get it fixed "It'll be sooo expensive").
However when I went to pick it up a few days later, they gave me a new one, with new battery, earphones, stylus etc... for free!
The receipt simply said "unrepairable".
You have a great service in europe, I live in an arab country, once you crack your screen here they will say " you have broken your screen to get a new one, but you will never!!!" then they take your mobile to fix it, you wait for 24 months, then they say that they cant find the mobile, so they give you brand-used siemens A-35 mobile instead of the mini s, saying that "they have almost the same features. either accept it or go and kill yourself"
Thats how our companies deal with us!!!
Thank god, you live in europe!!!

Are you in jordan? I cracked, no better yet SMASHEd, the screen on my 9500 about a year ago when i was on summer vacation in Saudi Arabia. I took it to the warranty repair center and i just had to convince them that it was an accident. They gave the device to a very talented philipino guy sitting in a little cubicle, 15 min later, had my device with a new screen. 30 minutes later had traded in the 9500 for a I-Mate Jam(my first windows mobile device).

You are completely right, but do you know why did they do that with you? because you are not arabic guy, you are american. Lets be fair, the service in Saudi arabia is a bit better than the service in jordan, but when an arabic company deals with an arabic customer that cracked his screen, they will crack his head and kick him out of the company office.
Ofcourse, our companies are not as bad as I describe, but it will never happen that you crack your screen and they simply give you a new phone with a new battery, because they feel that they will look stupid.
Thats how our companies deal with us!!!
Hey guys...
Now that my problem is sorted out I am putting the LCD on e-bay.

where can I buy a screen for the Cingular 8125????
Hi. I called the HTC parts number listed above and they say they do not see the LCD screens, but only repair them. I have looked online and can only find 1 site that sells the LCD for the HTC 8125 (www.pdasmart.com) but they charge more for the part than it costs to send the phone in to get repaired!!!!
So far the cheapest way to to replace my screen is to pay $169 and send it in. Does anyone know of a cheaper way to replace my screen???

I presume we are the $169 site that you found. You can also order just the part and receive a 10% discount on the part. There is no warranty when purchasing the part only though. Simply put "part only - 10% no warranty" in the special instructions field of the order.

Replacment LCD screen

Okay, just purchased my first Snap (s521 - purchased off eBay, quite sure it's an Asian version) a couple of weeks ago and been thoroughly happy with it. Haven't taken the plunge to HardSPL it and put on a cooked ROM (just concerned I suppose - shouldn't be though, I know). Yesterday with all the excitement of boxing day, managed to crack the LCD screen, and now can only see half the screen (the other half is white with a couple of really nice ink marks - would probably look like a butterfly if I looked hard enough.....lol ).
Been searching real hard on the internet, and can't seem to find a replacement for it any where. I'm from Australia, and only 1 carrier has the right's to the Snap here at the moment, therefore general repair shops don't seem to want to know about it.
Can anyone recommend a place to purchase a new screen? Any and all help greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Chris.
Hi
Im still looking for a replacement screen for one of ours as well. The only place in AU i can find is www.fonebiz.com.au
They quoted me $135 to install a replacement screen. They won't sell the screens seperatley though.
Hopefully it helps.
Matt
Thanx for that Matt.
I sent an email off to them this weekend, and I was waiting for a reply. They are supposedly the only authorised HTC repair centre in Australia, but I've read many bad reports about them in other forums. But I suppose $135 is far better then several $100's to get a new one. Fonebiz pretty much has the market to themselves in Australia until HTC allows other businesses to sell the Snap (once the contract with Telstra ends). If I come up with anything, I'll let you know as well.
I'm just surprised that I can't seem to find any for sale any where in the world. Not on eBay, through various stores in other countries - it's almost like we have a very specialised phone, with very little after sales / parts need.
Yep i would have thought it would have been easier to get a screen from the US or HK but no luck.
Ive had nothing but issues with fonebiz in trying to get phones replaced that are dropping reception and freezing. Hopefully you get through ok, they were quick to reply to my emails during business hours so you may need to wait till tomorrow for a response.

Thanx Harunjo,
After many calls and email to the Australian HTC help line, and then later to the SEA help line, I find out that my phone's serial number shows that the phone was destined for sale in Indonesia. No repair shop in Australia can source the screen except for the official repair centre, which refuses to touch the phone as it was purchased from overseas. Therefore I had 2 choices;
1. Send it to Indonesia to get fixed - Couldn't do as the phone number is not connected.
2. Go through one of the Global Repair Centres.
After contacting Honk Kong, UK, and trying to contact US (really bad time difference with Australia), I decided to follow through with the email contacts with SEA help, and just sent the phone off to Singapore today. Hopefully I will get it back within a few weeks.
One thing I'll say is that every person I spoke to at HTC were more then willing to do everything they could to help me, I just suppose it has everything to do with the whole repair / exclusivity / contract deal with Telstra in Australia - plus a fairly arrogant phone repair company that thinks they are so extremely fantastic that they decide how things work - wish I had a business that was so profitable that I could turn fully paying customers away on a whim (just ranting, couldn't believe how hard it was to try and get this phone fixed - seam to get a lot of bad press through forums does this repair business).
Anyways, as much as the whole experience may have turned me off HTC phones (as this is my first), I like them so much already, that I'll stick with them, just make sure the next phone I get is from Australia or has been out in Australia for a while and has full repair support.

Change to note 5?

Hi, so far my experience with the s6 edge plus is not so good. It overheats and sometimes is laggy. My friend who also bought the same model g928c from the same shop in UAE said his s6 edge plus broke because it overheated too much. I like the look and design though. If I sell my current s6 edge plus should I change to note 5 like my friend did? Or should I buy another working s6 edge plus? I can't return my current one because I live in the UK.
Never had any overheating or lag related to stock ROM so couldn't help you. I've heard the note tends to have more software lag due to specialized SPen programs and that the Edge+ is smoother. That's just hearsay though.
No heating here even after heavy gaming and never faced lag issues
Sent from my SM-G928G using XDA Free mobile app
Wrong thread buddy.........snapdragons across the street
Never felt mine get even close to hot?
Lag.. a little.. but that seems to be more because the apps keeps closing
Should I just sell my 64gb g928c and buy a dual sim 32gb g9287 or 32gb g928f?
Or note 5?
On my G298F no lag and no overheats. @hayat55 hard reset your terminal and update it to the latest firmware via OTA, if not enough bring it to a customer service and keep your GS6+.

One classic reason when I make such an expensive purchase is to ensure I have customer protection.
If you think about this no UK shop or outlet will willingly touch your phone as you have not made the purchase through them, however, .........unless Samsung has changed its policy you will find your phone has an international warranty. THE problem for you will be finding a Samsung outlet that will deal with your mobile. The problems are compounded as nearly all outlets use one technical shop to repair all their mobiles, don't think for one second when any Mobile goes wrong it is returned to the importer its not. iPhone maybe the one exception?
May I suggest you contact Samsung UK directly and request assistance. They may either request you send them your phone or give you the name of an outlet where your phone can be examined for problems.
I live in Southern Europe and very often the mobiles here are vastly more expensive than they are in Amazon.de, for example. On times I will take a chance as Amazon have a cast iron reputable returns policy. Other times if the financial difference is small I suck it up and purchase here. I bought my Edge+ here to avoid return problems.
One thing you will always need is your dated receipt and on said receipt it must have the serial number or IMEI of the mobile. I doubt you will find much joy with dealing with outlets etc as they have not made a profit on the sale.
Samsung UK may even be 'grumpy' about it BUT I am confident if you get to a person who knows the law and is a decent enough member of staff they will help you. Hey, I purchase such items here sometimes have a problem and call the UK office and they have, to date, always answered my questions. Do NOT let the switchboard operator prevent you from speaking to the service or customer relations department.
I know for sure such international companies used to include in the box an international warranty, Sony certainly still do even listing world wide head offices for customers to contact. I cant recall if Samsung now include in the box such a warranty?
One thing for sure this mobile is a bloomin good one. I often purchase four mobiles a year I have now the S6, S6 Edge+, iPhone 6, Sony Xperia Z2 and Ultra etc. Though I have found all those mentioned to be superb mobiles the Samsung's appear to have developed extremely fast in a very short space of time. Hell, this Edge+ is micro engineered like a Swiss watch. Gone are those awful days of plastic metals and plastic leather etc.
Oh. I guess you could pay DHL or UPS and have it returned to the shop of origin, Postal cost would be about £10 to £15.00? Only enclose a photo copy of your receipt.
Let us know what progress you make. I do hope you resolve your situation. Best of luck. :highfive:

It's doubtful that the basic warranty will cover dropping your phone - You might be able to get some "good will" from the place you bought the phone - I have Carrier Device Protection which covers a wide variety of things - from damage to losing your phone - If you have something similar that would be useful - But I think you need to understand that there are large numbers of people who drop their phones and the manufacturers & retailers can't be expected to fix or replace damaged phones for free ?

S8+ Screen replacement question

I have a US based S8+ and recently cracked the corner of the screen. It still works but is annoying so I want to replace it. I live abroad now and when I contacted the local authorized service center they said that I need a special screen because it is a US phone. Apparently an Asian S8+ screen is different from an American S8+ screen and they are not interchangeable. I kind of feel like they're trying to scam me to get more money but I'm not certain. Can anyone advise me on this situation?
Total BS I repair phones for a living and there is zero difference
