Am running the latest update with wifi calling. I've been trying all day to setup fingerprint unlock but I keep getting fingerprint sensor not responding. I did have a slick wrap button cover installed and removed it just in case. Any help would be appreciated. I have wiped dalvik and cache..
It may be undesirable, but have you tried a factory reset?

I sure have and nothing. I called samsung and asked if there were any reports after the pg1 update but nothing.
If your Knox is 0x0 I'd recommend pursuing warranty repairs or replacement.
I don't believe a button cover would cause that.

Thanks that's what I was told but when they mentioned I would get a refurbished phone, didn't sink in well, but better then not having it work.

I sold my phone on eBay, and shipped the phone out. When it got to the buyer, he stated that the back and menu button do not work. He also flashed a i9500 rom, which may or may not have helped.
I shipped it out under warranty but it says "Knox warranty void" in the summary of the repair. Anyone know how I can fix this problem myself? I tried flashing the NAE rom and while everything else worked, the buttons did not.
I think it's may be touch screen problem..
Could be hardware, I personally wouldn't have done much being he was flashing it himself. One never knows what a noob is capable of.

Agree with 31ken31, he flashed a rom, it's his problem.

I rooted my phone because there seems to be a hardware fault where I cannot connect to wifi. I tried all the methods in this forum and what I have googled but still to no avail. I even went so far as to factory reset/flash official firmware but still nothing. The problem now is when I go to DL mode, I see knox warranty void 0x1. I cannot return because of that. Any ideas on what I should do? Please I really need your help guys.

Knox when once is 0x1 cannot be 0x0 again.
At some places knox 0x1 is not regarded as WARRANTY VOID like in India.
Check at your local samsung service centre.
Thanks if this helped.

I am in the Philippines and I went to a Samsung service center. They said that the warranty is void because of the knox counter being 0x1. My phone has a hardware problem not only with the wifi module, but the battery is heating up with no usage at all. Damn, this phone is still 2 weeks old.:/

I had this checked at a local repair shop and they said that there is something wrong with the wifi module. They said that only a board replacement can fix this. Damn, the board costs almost half the price of the phone. Only a warranty can save this phone now.

I finally found another center and they received the unit, because they didn't check the download mode at that time. But will they check it and return it to me without repairing it?

I paid $160 to have Huawei replace my cracked screen, and it came back unrooted with all data wiped and reset to 7.0. Why would they do this? I checked the serial number and it did not change, so I don't think they just sent me a replacement, I think they actually unrooted and reset it.

Is your bootloader locked? I think it's policy for manufacturers to only work on phones in their originally intended state, hence locking your bootloader which would wipe your data etc. Just a thought
Bootloader unlocked, but what does that have to do with replacing a screen?
Check if you've got a refurbished one
Same serial #

I am just speculating here, but maybe they needed to run diagnostics before and/or after the screen replacement to ensure it was working correctly. (Touch sensitivity, color etc etc)
It seems reasonable for them to only trust unrooted firmware as that way they are running their tests with known working parameters. As an OEM I am sure they would prioritise quality control and accountability over your data. Which they probably told you to back up before you sent it in.

They didn't say anything at all about backup, I even told them I was rooted and they said that wasn't an issue.
Your reason seems legitimate, and maybe the people I spoke to on the phone just didn't know this.

Hi, my phone is an s7 edge exynos g935w8 and I've tried using triangle away to reset the knox counter but that doesn't work... So are there any other options?
The only option is app called KNOX disabler. It reverts knox back to 0x0. But your warranty is void anyways
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
No,knox counter is one time programmable e-fuse,when burned and get status 0x1 its irretrievable, that is the point of knox, more here
I am looking for a nox reset also. F*ck samsung. They dont want to fix my S7 edge flickering screen because of root. YES root made my screen flicker!!

Once you tripped your Knox you can do nothing. It's like peeling off the security label. I'm sure you were aware of voiding warranty with rooting the device

Samsung police, that sounds hilarious. The only person you can be angry with is yourself. I bet you are a young person that doesn't care about money your parents gave to you to buy this device. Otherwise you woulda thought about consequences or you just don't know yet how the world works. That's how you make money on silly customers. PEACE

Surely everyone knows that your warranty is void if you root your phone. It is classed as mishandling and can cause vulnerable software to be installed.
Your flickering issue may not be caused by rooting but the fact you rooted the phone goes against Samsung's terms of use and therefore they have no obligation to fix the phone for you.
I am rooted myself but when I did root, I accepted the fact that I would void my warranty, therefore I took out insurance that would cover any damage I may get. This is not Samsung's fault, it is your own fault for rooting if you wanted to keep your warranty.

It's pointless imo. The device is still knox-tripped, the phone just shows 0x0 instead of 0x1. I see no reason why this would be useful.
Of course, and by the way I don't have any reason to revert to 0x1 or 0x0 ... my provider/seller will never look at this for warranty
But it would be funny if Samsung accept to repair a 0x0 fake device lol

You can use knox apps like disconnect , myknox with that with root and custom rom and probably Samsung pay ? They are still testing if samsung pay works . But for warranty , it's useless lol.

WAR
Is it not law in uk an EU that rooting or messing with software DOES NOT void warranty?

if it's clearly a hardware problem, would they still bother flashing stock? cos that would mean data is wiped after every samsung repair.
Hey guys I have a issue with my S5 keeps freezing and vibrating twice before rebooting constantly I have tries flashing stock firmware via odin, repartitioning, custom roms, updated modems and still it keeps doing it at random intervals.
The other day it ran for about 48 hours without freezing but I have no idea what I did or didnt do that caused it any help would be much appreciated.

Since you tried all software fixes you could think of, problem's in hardware. Try another battery and see then. If even then it reboots it's something far more important than the battery and you're screwed :| (have to give it to repair shop).

I have sometimes it works fine for a few days then it starts doing it again, wondering if it's worth trying to open it on my own to see what the issue may be or just wiggle some connections to see if something may not be connected properly idk at this point but it is strange

I had the same problem and fixed it by changing to a new battery. It seems that the older battery doesn't hold enough peak charge whenever the CPU tried to stay at 100%.
already tried changing batteries that did not work for me.
Time for the repair shop route.. Or if it cost to much to fix, you can find a good used or new for cheap on ebay or swappa.
