Its because you have not split the firmware into pda phone and modem as your device doesnt support single file firmware flashing
you can download pre split firmware from my firmware thread for duos - please follow all instructions

Can you get into recovery mode on your phone and restore an old kitkat backup?
No I couldn't I flash lolipop it's working but I want to downgrade to kit kat
Does downgrade cause hard brick?
I think you have to stay on lollipop now as the bootloader got updated. If you flash lollipop your phone should be back working

Same thing happened to me. After the odin fail message, I removed the battery, went to download mode again and flashed twrp 2.8.6.1 (latest one). After flashing, it rebooted and working perfectly fine now.
In my own case, I upgraded to marshmallow but am unable to make calls. Saying "Not Registered to Network"

Thats not for Note 4. You're trying to flash note 10.1 tablet firmware. Check your model then search for the adequate firmware either on sammobile.com/firmwares or here on xda.
Also wrong section.

Odin says pass but there is no change in firmware

I am attempting to revert back to stock rom from kali nethunter on my USA Verizon galaxy s8. I have all of the necessary firmware files downloaded from sammobile.com for android 8.0
I am using odin 3.12 and when I attempt to flash the stock rom my device is in download mode. What is strange is that odin finishes in less than 2 minutes every time I click start and says that it passed and was successful. Next my phone reboots and to my dismay the firmware has not changed at all. I am yet to find anyone else that has run into this issue where odin says that is was successful and does nothing for a galaxy s8.
Any ideas?
Here is my odin log:

For further clarification my device is still functioning perfectly with nethunter on it. There appears to be no soft brick as I can freely enter and exit both download and recovery mode.
I am especially confused with that RQT_CLOSE line in the log. Every other thread or website I have found says that when individuals get RQT_CLOSE odin fails. When I am getting RQT_CLOSE odin claims pass and success.
Use odin 3.13.1

Try it with a 4-part firmware
Also in the developer options make OEM unlock.

Thank you for answer.
I have used 4-part firmware and .pit file and checked repartition box.
Didn't try to OEM unlock.
I now see that firmware is changed to N960FOXM2ARK2
but CSC is still XEH.
I have moved to a thread in Note 9 forum:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/help/sm-n960f-how-to-change-csc-problem-t3873358
if you would like to help me pleas write in new thread, i don't want to make a mess in this thread.
