settings> accounts>Google crashes - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've just noticed this a few days ago. Anyone else having this problem. Going to Google accounts in settings crashes it. A bit of research had 2 work arounds..
1. Go to gallery, settings, accounts...and access it from there
2. Downgrade Google play services or Google play and settings will work. However, it'll keep bugging you to upgrade Google play services or else maps won't work (but it does)
Anyone else fixed this permanently?

[Q] Google account syncing problem on Galaxy S5

Hello, I'm new here.
I have a brand new galaxy s5. Running stock everything. I set up my Google account and was able to access some features, such as logging into the play store and downloading apps. However I am unable to access the Google play games feature, I also cannot sign into certain apps requiring google+. I have deleted the account and re entered my details. I have even performed a factory reset and still have no luck. I have tried putting my phone in flight mode and then back to normal and even disabling master sync and re-enabling it. How do I fix this problem. The account seems to say syncing for a very long time, everything else seems to work fine. Is this a network problem?
Problem solved
So I figured I wasn't going to receive any advice any time soon, probably because my explanation wasn't too clear but I fixed the issue. As mentioned I tried everything and factory reset and that did not work. The main issue was when I logged into some apps requiring Google+ link such as Clash of Clans, I was unable to sign into link my account. I also realised the Google Play Games app did into work, it just showed blank loading pages for tab.
So here's what I did (Android 5.0 - Galaxy S5 stock):
Go to Settings>Applications>Application Manager>All
Now go to the Google Play Games App then disable the app. This uninstalls the new version of the app that was updated 15th May 2015. Instead you are reverted back to a older version of the app, which works perfectly. Now you will be able to link your accounts requiring Google+/Google Play.
Since Google released the update quite recently, people have experienced the same issue. I am hoping a new update will be available soon so you can update to that and skip this current update and never have to worry about the bug again.
But at least with this fix you can enjoy your Google Play Games.
Which one version of Google Play Games do I have to install?

Play Store Force Closing

Every time I open a app page on the play store it force closes and goes back to the home screen. And some times it says server error. Any suggestions to get this fixed?
I have this same problem on the Shield Android TV and the Google ADT-1. I do not have a solution, and Google has not been helpful - but here's the interesting thing: use a different account - I guarantee it will work, but when you switch back to your main account, it will not be fixed. There are many people with this same issue in the Shield TV section, and on the GeForce forums. It is definitely a Google Play, Google Play Services, account issue, or a combination of any of all of them. Call Google and tell them your problem - don't waste your time with factory resets, wiping GP Services, etc., it will not work. See if you get anywhere with them, they tried to say it's a hardware issue, and it 100% is not, because other accounts will work just fine.
Give them a call - 1-855-836-3987
Okay thanks

Problems with Google running on Galaxy S5

Hello, today I rooted my phone to use apps such as gamekiller and when it rooted it was all fine. I could use Google services, access play store and everything. But later on I did a factory reset on my phone because it was full of unwanted data and apps that I don't need. When I did the reset and I come to log in with Google it wouldn't let me use Google account it kept saying "Couldn't sign in. Cannot establish a reliable connection to the server." I can't use Google anymore, I can't use my login on YouTube, I can't access the play store, I can't use snapchat because of Google play services. I cannot use anything to do with Google. Anybody know what to do? Would running a custom rom work? I've also researched to problem. Date and time is normal. Wifi proxy is none which all causes problems for people and Google if they don't have them....
Thanks guys

[N9005] Settings app crashes when clicking on Google sync options

Hi all, hope you can help me fixing this strange problem on my dad note 3.
Basically whenever you go in settings ---> general ---> accounts and click on the google account the settings app crashes instead of showing all the sync options. All the other accounts (dropbox, whatsapp etc..) work normally. The phone is unrooted and updated to latest official build.
Factory reset does fix this but after a while (my dad says when the google app is updated but he's not 100% sure) the problem is present again.
Thanks in advice to everyone will help. i'll be glad to offer you a beer
yes same issue with me. after Google play service update, it causes this issues. Anybody please help us.
Same here; tried an hard reset and it works fine, then after updating all the apps (including play services) it start to crash, so 99% depends on play services; send feedbacks to google so they will fix it

Google Play Services GPS Crash

I'm running OCT-M 6.0.1. Every time google apps try to access location services, I get play services crashing. This does not happen with non-google apps such as waze or GPS Test.
I've tried reinstalling play services to the latest, reinstalled google maps, and cleared data for services and framework (backed up beforehand of course).
Does anyone know what could be causing this? I'm unsure where to find a crash log.
Just in case anyone's curious, I managed to figure it out myself. Disabling and re-enabling play services through privacy guard (OCT-M is based on CM13) fixed it. GPS now works and I no longer get any play service crashes.
