Hi guys,
I can't connect my s7 edge to my mac.
I've already downloaded Android file transfer but when I plug the phone to the computer, I have message.
In my mac, telling me that "connexion impossible" and same in my S7.
Any ideas ?

Try restarting Your phone. Sometimes it helps. I have a macbook pro too and it sometimes catches connection and sometimes nothing happens. Maybe try installing windows through Bootcamp? Or just copy files over using SDCard. Or try using a different USB port. Or remove Android file manager and install it again. If none of these work download samsung kies. I think they have a version for MacOSX.
I've already tried these I worked with my S5 then suddenly stopped working. Don't getting it's so weird. Will try to use kies

Mate, did you realise, you are trying to get Samsung & Apple to talk to each other... They only talk in legal courts..
Kidding...
I had the same thing. I removed AFT, then went into the Preferences file (Library>Preferences) and deleted Android File Transfer plist files and also downloaded the Kies DMG to get the Uninstaller app. Ran that (evrn though not installed but previously had been) then made sure no Preference files for Kies existed. Rebooted my Mac (normally don't have to like you do with windows). Booted back up and I installed Android File Transfer and it works again. Just remember that AFT does not play well with any Kies files existing on your Mac.

@p2kin good point ? @burrzoo kies is not installed on my mac but if you're telling me there is troubleshoot when AFT and kies are installed. Then I think I know where the problem is coming from. I've installed SideSync the problem might be there. I'm gonna remove SideSync and see what happens

Aaaannnnd it worked
Thanks @buurzoo for helping me.
So for anyone that will or has trouble with android file transfer, remove kies or SideSync

Hi all,
I read many posts all over the web about workarounds to make KIES work on MacOS X Lion, or having to run the Windows version under Parallel, but it just works fine natively.
Went to samsung.com, and got redirected to samsung.com/es (I live in Spain). Then in the search bar I asked for KIES, clicked on the KIES icon that came back as an answer, and was prompted to download the Windows or Mac version.
Downloaded the Mac version (KiesMac_1-1.2.0.12012_6_9.dmg), installed it with all default settings, ran it, it went through a first update, then restarted the application and it went through another update. Restarted and it is now KIES version 1.3.0.12023_9.
I connected my Note to a USB port and it recognized it fine... including telling me firmware version of my note etc.
Anyways maybe this is already known to all Mac users... or maybe it helps!?
Cheers.
KIES works fine but Mac OS can't recognize SS Note as an USB storage yet
Yes it can, if u activate the usb storage option in settings.

I downloaded the mac Kies (long time ago) to my iMac and both SGSII and Note works ok,
Doesn't work for me. Just sits there saying "Connect a Device" even after I have connected my Note. No such problem with the same Mac / Cable / USB Port / Note settings using Parallels and Kies under Windows. YMMV.
I'm user if Mac too... Try to use kies to update my note, is a big sh**... My lion can't recognized my phone, use kies air.... Now I have root my device, no needed kies to update my roms

I use VMWare Fusion to run a virtual machine of Windows 7 within OSX. It makes dealing with the phone a lot easier, because switching back and forth between OSX and 7 is as easy as literally making a trackpad gesture. I haven't gotten around to installing Kies on the windows side but the phone acts amazingly as a USB storage device on windows so I have yet to really need to.
I never trusted OSX to get along with Android in the first place, so I would be surprised if it DID work fine rather than if it didn't, when it comes to using an Android phone with OSX.
Terminal Emulator just got updated with a new permission: read logs. Dev says it's for logcat. I think, you can't run adb on android, and sure enough nothing happens when you do unless you hook up your phone via USB! Not sure if I would use this, but it's cool. Can't figure out why the app would need permission to read logs on a connected device though.

Hi
As in the topic .my laptop is not showing nexus 4 as media storage (MTP/ptp) I can access everything via fastboot/adb but can't transfer files like I would normally do with any other device .

I'm thinking try windows update? Maybe the device manager? Or maybe install the drivers for this phone? Try a different USB port?

I have a Windows 7 PC that it just wont work on but works on another 7 PC and an 8. I have googled MTP devices not mounting and have never seen a solution, just suggestions that I and other people have already tried.
I tried drivers, usb cables, ports, and all the toggles in the settings, it just doesnt work.
Well phone is detecting that its connected via USB as media storage there are no drivers missing ...all ports are the same . I've also tried different USB cables

Edit:
Ive unistalled all USB drivers from Device Manager, then Ive managed to reinstall them. Phone was by default on MTP, so ive changed it to PTP and it showed up on my computer, when changed back to MTP PC didnt detect itAnd after Ive tried to go back to PTP that disappeard as well
I had the same problem on Windows 8. I had to remove the Google USB drivers before it would show up again.

Thanks dude, a quick scrubbing of hidden devices and I was back in business
Working
I've found that plugging in the device and then going to device management, uninstall the driver, take out the phone from usb, Reinsert it and then windows 8 should reinstall the driver and it should be working. This worked for me anyways, hope it helps.
thx man - i forgot about hidden devices and had this mtp problem on both my n4 and n7 devices. now finally i have acces to my devices

What do I do when there is no Device Manager entry for the Nexus 4 not even hidden? I have this problem both on my desktop and my labtop after the 4.3 update. I also tried uninstalling all USB entries and hidden storage volumes. But from my understanding MTP doesn't need a driver because it's integrated into Windows 8 somehow.

Thanks to all those that mentioned the "hidden devices" uninstall! I had this problem with a Samsung Nexus S 4G device, on a Windows 8 laptop. For the Windows 7 laptops at my house, the windows explorer pops open automatically after choosing to turn on USB mass storage, but this didn't happen on the Windows 8 laptop. I am actually on Windows 8.1, and this thread was what finally helped me!
I installed the latest Samsung drivers on my Windows 8 or 8.1 computer (source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038555). Still, I couldn't get a window to pop up on my Windows 8 laptop, to copy files to my phone's SD card.
Finally, after seeing this thread, I clicked on the "Open Devices and Printers", located in the notification area (bottom right of desktop), at that icon for "Safely Remove Hardware" option. In the "Devices and Printers" window, I saw that my phone/device was listed as a hidden device on there. I then clicked on my device/phone to uninstall the driver, also clicking on "Delete device driver software" before clicking ok. After unplugging my phone, then plugging it back in, Windows downloaded its own drivers, and a window popped open automatically, showing the contents of my phone's SD card. I'm finally able to easily copy files onto my phone from my Windows 8.1 laptop! THANKS AGAIN!
I solved my problem at this way. Maybe it will help.
5- Seleccionar controlador "MTP usb device"
Funciona para mi.
¡Suerte!

In English
1- enabled device manager view hidden devices.
2 connected by usb nexus in the MTP option
3 Select android device> ACER ADB Interface ( or that asset in this group) . contextual menu and select " Update Driver Software " .
4 Select " search for driver software on your computer" > " Choose from a list of device drivers on my computer" .
5- Select driver "MTP usb device"
This worked for me, using windows 8, also had the ACER ADB issue.

But when I try to rename the folder from another PC on Windows7 it works!
What do you think,do you feel the same with windows8.1?

Use MyPhoneExplorer for that.
To transfer big files it isn't a good idea, because it's not faster than 1,1 MB/s
But to create folders and transfer little files it's very good!
MyPhoneExplorer website
and here the app for your phone (needed to connect your mobile with your pc)

i hope you enjoy it!!
I have an MTCD-KGL unit (version 1.92a_4) but I can't run easy connected as its not installed. I've tried installing a couple of versions which didn't work, but then discovered there are a vast number of different revisions with different 2 letter codes in the file names:
I can't put the link as I haven't posted 10 posts yet
www . biliworld dot com/file/661459919981999519/
e.g. FY, TW,HCN etc. Firstly, which version do I need and do I also need to install the Easy Connection Server on the phone too? Also, does anyone have a working link as the above versions require logging into a Chinese website (can't understand).
Thanks to anyone that can help!
Easy connected can be extracted from.the ROm..in fact there are several roms that they have extracted for later installation.
Once installed....and connected by usb cable the phone will install the easy connected server and a driver mode app (this one is not necessary but it installs every time you connect and when detects that it is not installed...
I tried with my xperia z3 with 6.0.1 without issues

I don't have a link to the easyconnected app sorry as I extracted it out of the ROM. I since discovered that you can browse to it on my headunit via the apk manager. One thing I learned was the reason this app wasn't working for me in the first place was that my unit has 2 USB ports, and it has to be in the top one to work.

You have to browse to the mount point OEM, its a different partition, you will have to select it first to browse for it.
