I have an MTCD-KGL unit (version 1.92a_4) but I can't run easy connected as its not installed. I've tried installing a couple of versions which didn't work, but then discovered there are a vast number of different revisions with different 2 letter codes in the file names:
I can't put the link as I haven't posted 10 posts yet
www . biliworld dot com/file/661459919981999519/
e.g. FY, TW,HCN etc. Firstly, which version do I need and do I also need to install the Easy Connection Server on the phone too? Also, does anyone have a working link as the above versions require logging into a Chinese website (can't understand).
Thanks to anyone that can help!
Easy connected can be extracted from.the ROm..in fact there are several roms that they have extracted for later installation.
Once installed....and connected by usb cable the phone will install the easy connected server and a driver mode app (this one is not necessary but it installs every time you connect and when detects that it is not installed...
I tried with my xperia z3 with 6.0.1 without issues

Good idea! I managed to find the ROM, extract it, then find it in the OEM.img file.

I don't have a link to the easyconnected app sorry as I extracted it out of the ROM. I since discovered that you can browse to it on my headunit via the apk manager. One thing I learned was the reason this app wasn't working for me in the first place was that my unit has 2 USB ports, and it has to be in the top one to work.

You have to browse to the mount point OEM, its a different partition, you will have to select it first to browse for it.

Hello everyone!
I'm using Windows 7 [64 bits] and I wanted to know if someone has found a solution in order to copy huges files (2 gb video files for example) via USB to the Iconia Tab A500?
In fact Explorer.exe is always crashing during the copy (or in the beginning of it)
I don't have any Wifi at home at the moment, so I can't copy via Wifi thanks to File Expert for example.
If you have an idea, please share it, seams strange that it looks impossible to do it.
Thanks!
Copy the files to a flash drive and plug flash dive into tablet?
Thanks for your response.
Yes that's a solution, but there's no faster solution? Where's the problem with Explorer.exe crashing?
I have Win7 x64 and I have never had that problem. Sorry...
ummm, have you tried a different cable? Or come to that, a different USB port on your computer?
Use android commander. It works great

Does your tablet show up under device manager in the control panel? Or under admin panel -> storage? Might be a conflicting letter the drive is trying to grab with one thats already used. If u see tablet in storage in the admin panel -> control panel. Try changing the letter assigned to it.

Sounds like a driver issue. Try uninstalling all the USB drivers for the Acer, then download and reinstall the latest drivers.
Hi,
i am fairly new to android coming from ios.
I opened my s3 and its:
ap i9300buale6
cp i9300bule6
csc i9300vfgale6
android 4.0.4
Then i did the following:
- Using Odin i flashed CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.tar.
- Using Google Play installed Busybox
- Using EFS_Pro_1.12.6_Release a EFS backup (tar)
- Using CWM i created a Nandroid backup in the internal storage (got no SD)
Thats where i am at now.
My goals are now.
1. Get the nadroid backup somehow from the internal memory to the PC
2. Update stock firmware and root again
3. Access and edit the Host file
How do 1 and 3 and with which tools?
I tried FTPServer and used FlashFXP on my PC, i can successfully connect but FlashFXP (and firefox) cannot list directories or files from the S3.
thanks in advance
I am confused. Why go through all this process for (1)? Just connect your phone to your pc with usb and copy the folder located in clockworkmod/backup.
The hosts file is located in /etc/hosts but you're gonna need a root file manager like Estrongs File Explorer (market, free), to edit it.
Edit: if you just want to get rid of ads, install and run Adaway (market, free as well).

because when i connect the s3 to the pc i cannot browse the s3 at all.
it doesnt appear in the explorer but at the same time efs made a backup and
obviously found it
What OS are you using? Win7? Enable usb debugging in Settings->Developer in case it helps.
Also when you connect your phone, does it show anything regarding USB on its statusbar/notification?
Edit: If all else fails, I'd suggest downloading this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488 . Among other things it can install the correct drivers for you.

Quite frankly you don't really need to install kies. Personally I've only used it once and it's a PoS.
Download that program from the thread I linked earlier, run it and follow the instructions to install the drivers. You should be good to go.

Happy you figured it out.
You're on Verizon? If yes, you're in the wrong forum. This is for the international version of GS3, so make sure you don't flash anything from this section.

You may need the USB drivers - I tried Search to give you a link here but Search is "Temporarily Unavailable" Then your PC should see the phone and, when you get one, the ext SD card. You should make it a priority to get a card as you can backup to it or move backups etc. to it using something like EFS Explorer or other root enabled file manager.
Then, if you can't get your phone to show in Explorer, you can simply remove the SD card and use a card reader to transfer stuff to the PC. Then, if you STILL can't see the phone, I'd be speaking to the vendor about possible faults/solutions.
Found a location for DL'ing the USB drivers - http://d-h.st/h11. Hope it helps...
i am in the right forum i am from germany
Hm... I think I must have forgotten to refresh the page before I posted, Last post I saw was at 10:49 but the issue was resolved in later ones and before I posted. Strange...
Not sure if the Nexus drivers are the same as my link (earlier version also) but they should be - they are for the PC not the phone so I doubt there'd be specific customisation in the driver file. You may want to update to v1.5.4.0 anyway... Just run the file with Admin permissions and it should install over the top of the older drivers.

I've been up and down the forums for two days trying every method and app and whatever else is recommended.
asus zenfone 2 laser
Z00TD (ZE551KL)
-i cannot unlock bootloader (Asus unlock tool does not work for any variant)
- cannot root with any one click app (assuming because bootloader is locked)
- cannot manually install drivers via any instructional method online. (They all seem to be 64 bit when I have a 32 bit machine) and there is no actual exe file to install anywhere that i can locate.
- cannot use windroid as it requires twrp (basically root) ....useless.
-cannot adb command unlock or root, does not recognize device (assuming because proper drivers are not installed)
I'm on the updated software version 1.16.40.763-20151201
Someone please give me a hint or some lead as to what I'm missing or where I'm going wrong.
Thanks in advance.
Download the adb-fastboot tool from here...:- Moderator EDIT PPC links are not allowed
Install it.. it will ask you for installing drivers also.. install them... Visit Asus.com and download the drivers for your device. . Now search for Device manager in Windows start menu. Click on Device Manager and then you will see a device named as Android or something like that... Right click on it.. then select update drivers... Then you will see two options 1). Check online 2. Browse my Pc for updated drivers.. select the 2nd one now browse the downloaded file of drivers and select it.. select the folder of files .(After unzipping the folder)...
Click on update.. now drivers will get installed.. now
Use Ctrl+shift+right click..(in adb folder mainly located in local disk c) and select open command Windows here. Enable the USB debugging option in developer options of your device.. At first it will ask for permissions. Alow it.. Now you can flash anything.. for further information ,if needed you can contact me..

I must be doing something wrong. Because I've done all of that. And the drivers don't install properly. I can get into fast boot and that's where it stops for me. The bootloader 20007.img code keeps failing.
I don't know. Something isn't right. I can't even unlock it with the Asus unlock tool. I've tried every one for every variant.

this might sound stupid, but try a different, better, usb cable.
I had a similar issue years ago, trying to flash my first android phone, windows would also give me device manager error. i beat my head on the wall for two days using the motorola supplied data cable, until on a whim i tried a different USB cable and everything worked.
I have tried all the possible solutions described in the forum and in other places, but pitifully without success.
To this day, I have not been able to get Windows 10 Pro N to recognize my Nexus 6p.
The MTP driver appears as unsigned digitally. The ADB driver appears as correct.
As a solution I reinstalled Windows 10, provisionally solved. But then Windows was updated and the error returned.
Any suggestions?

Once you have downloaded and installed the Android SDK Manager above you run the program as an administrator. Choose what you want to install. If you don't already have them you want Android SDK Tools and Android SDK-Platform-tools at the top (which would give you the most current ADB installation) and Google USB Driver is at the bottom under extras. You don't really need anything else unless you plan on doing Android programming. Just check what you want to install and click the button that says install packages.

You could also go this route:
http://www.technobuzz.net/install-google-nexus-6p-usb-drivers/
which will install the Nexus drivers plus Huawei's phone interface program HiSuite. I must have installed this way because HiSuite opens every time I connect my Nexus 6P to the computer and I just close the program since I never use it.

i will try
If you have any drivers installed now uninstall them by opening driver manager going to view->show hidden devices. Go to Android Device, and delete all the entries in there.
Now start by installing minimal adb and fastboot.
Then download this, extract it to a folder, plug in your phone. Make sure USB debugging is on
Then begin to follow this guide until you get to the have disk part. Close the video now. When you get to the have disk part, select android_winusb.inf from the folder I linked you to on Google Drive. Then you just next thru everything. This should work for your 6P.
I have solved using the Nexus toolkit. With this tool I can finally install the MTP drivers and that Windows recognizes my phone

Honestly I rarely even connect my 6p to my desktop over usb anymore. MTP on win 10 is so atrocious. If I'm trying to transfer larger files or a picture folder windows will simply hang in the "calculating time required to copy" step, then trying to cancel will freeze everything. I've tried drivers, solutions etc to no avail. Best thing I've found is transferring files over wifi direct by using the ftp module in es file manager. You should definitely try it out, saves me lots of headaches!

I find transferring files via MTP on Windows 10 much faster and easier than using WiFi method. There must be something wrong with your drivers setup. It always works flawlessly for me.

If you can't get it figured out using the Google USB drivers, install the Nexus Root Toolkit (NRT) by WugFresh. It has a driver installation and testing tool. It will work. There is also a NRT support subforum dedicated to the N6P. You can also use MTP in TWRP natively if you have TWRP installed.

Well you didn't try it properly because it works 100%. If you remove all the old drivers from Device manager *and* using USBDeview, it will work. Try it again and follow the instructions to the letter. You should also swap cables just in case, so you can rule out a defective or damaged cable. You'd be surprised how often this happens. NRT will install drivers for use with ADB and Fastboot. After you finish, run Step 4 to confirm. The toolkit is just automating what most people do manually. This is not an issue with Windows, you probably have an old USB driver conflicting, and that is what USBDeview is used for. What about using MTP in TWRP... Is it working?
