Capacitive buttons replacement - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hi!
I have a Samsung GALAXY s7 and 4 days agof my capacitive buttons stopped working after i submerged the phone in water, I sent it to samsung so they would fix it but they sent it back today telling me that the warranty doesn't cover water damage. So now I was wondering if there is anything give can do to fix my capacitive buttons, is there some way I can replace them? If yes how and where can I buy them?
Also before all this, i had another problem with the phone, it's memory was damaged and the OS had problems, I made a thread about that too, but ended up sending it to samsung cause I couldn'the find any solutions. Right after the capacitive buttons stopped working 4 days ago I noticed that the back part of the phone was't sealed, I could separate it with my fingernail, so I think that the guys who changed the damaged memory forgot to seal the phone properly and that's why it got so damaged after 20 seconds in water. Of course now after I sent it a second time for the capacitive buttons they sealed it properly now, so I have no evidence of this.

Screen fell off??

Today i opened the keyboard on my phone and the screen slider on the left side came completely off. My screen is now dangling by the ribbon and the right side slider.
At&t is claiming physical damage, but the phone is in a case and has never been dropped or abused. They say that the screws are proof, cause and effect of the physical damage. Sort of like saying that dropping your phone in the toilet is what caused it to stop working, when actually it was the water that did it.
Htc is saying my phone is out of warranty, but it is a warranty replacement for a phone that wouldn't charge and is only one month old.
What do I do? I feel like they deliberately sent me a replacement that was out of warranty because I repeatedly held their feet to the fire on selling me shoddy phones.
Use HTC service manual (Hermes) - found through using search function - to re-attach the screen. You will need to take it apart but as you don't have a warranty, there no problem. You need a size 6 torque key, a small phillips head screwdriver and a small flatbladed screwdriver.
Not hard, done it plenty of times.
Cheers...

replacement Mytouch 4G Screen digitizer issues

Hey all,
I replaced my girlfriends shattered digitizer a couple of weeks ago. Everything went great. I attempted to reuse the adhesive that was originally on the phone but alot of it was not any good.
So after putting it back together using what i could for the adhesive, the phone booted up and worked fine. But after sometime of using it my girlfriend started to complain about it not responding to touch correctly. Random times when touched it would act like she was touching somewhere completely different. Or it would act like it wasn't even being touched. To fix that issue you have to put it to sleep and then reactivate.
A good example would be if you were on the phone dial pad and trying to press 9 it would press 2 or 5 or 1. Or sometimes it would just not activate anything. Sometimes it would even "press" something without it ever being touched.
I did replace my old iphone digitizer and had the same issue. Not sure how to fix it. My only other thing i can think of is maybe getting some adhesive and applying. But i want to see if anyone has had this same issue or if they have a fix?
We've reset the phone to factory settings, rebooted. I have no more ideas.
Also where cna i get mytouch 4g adhesive?
Bump....anyone?

This thread might help you out. Someone in there also mentioned that you can use the same adhesive used on iphones, or 3M adhesive(whatever that is..)
Hope this helps you out a bit.

Hi there, this is what I use to re-adhere digitizers when I repair iPhone digitizers and MyTouch 4G digitizers: http://www.ebay.com/itm/37051618015...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_1118wt_1141
Make sure that all connections inside the phone are properly connected, the issue with your girlfriend hitting a button and the touch not responding correctly usually indicates a defective digitizer or that a connection came loose or maybe moisture got underneath which will cause the digitizer to fail.
I hope this helps !!
I have the same issue. I replace one digitizer for a customer and she complained of certain spots not responding.
I replaced one on my phone and it does not respond in some places. Like i wouldnt work when its on horizontal mode.
I would draw a straight line on a drawing app and it goes down fine and get crooked towards the bottom area. almost like a lightening symbol.
The digitizer i got is not original. One of my original digitzer is acting up too. Tried it on different phones and its still the same.
I also tried using the adhesive tapes.
This is too much of a problem.. Wonder what the issue is...
It'd be ncie if we could get some more advice here. Or even some more reports of this issue.
@krnchonnom: Where did you purchase the digitizer? I picked mine up for repairs universe. Wonder if they got a bad batch.
I replaced my Digitizer this past week and I'm now expeirencing the same thing... Has anyone proven that using new adhesive solves the problem? This is the adhesive I used when replacing mine, http://www.repairsuniverse.com/adhesive-strips-for-touch-screens.html
Hey I had the touchdcreen problem after the OTA update from T-Mobile a couple of weeks ago. Now for the last two days it disappeared. I think it was software related...
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
How could it be software related when I never had a problem with my old digitizer before and after I shattered it...
I took apart my phone once again today and spent about 2 hours sizing and cutting new adhesive strips and it appears that I have relieved the issue so that it only happens now and again, thus allowing some use out of the phone but now the digitizer is stuck to the LCD and making part of my screen looks like a piece of glass on top of some liquid ready to go under a microscope... I'll put up a pic tomorrow.
I'm just about to the point where I might just purchase a digi+LCD assembly instead.
Sooo. .. you guys replaced the digitizer and still no go, but cannot fathom it may be software related... May not be but mine was when stupid T-Mobile said it was hardware. I would type a certain letter yet it would type three others making it impossible to text. Just sharing my experience. Hope you guys figure it out.

here is what it looks like
problem solved. My adhesive tape was too thin. I doubled the adhesive up and now I'm good, except for the intermittent unresponsiveness. I have to lock the screen and unlock it again to get it to work again...
I'm about to tear back into my wife's MT4G for this same issue. She cracked the screen a couple months back and had to use a MT3G for a while!
I bought several busted MT4G's off of ebay to tear down before I took hers apart. It really helped knowing where there are snaps and screws and such before you do the real thing.

Exchanging screen lift + damaged unit

Hi guys
I bought a N7 last month and recently in the few weeks notice the screen lift issue.
After looking on the forum, I read someone said stack a bunch of stuff on top of the screen while playing a movie on the device to heat it up and hopefully reheat the glue to glue the screen.
And so I did, and unfortunately stacked too much stuff on top of the screen. When I tried to remove the stuff, I accidentally dropped one of the item on the bezel.
I know, Its fault on my part and I wasn't going to RMA if stacking fixed the issue, BUT the lifting came back and now I am forced to exchange the device. The problem is, the bezel has a tiny dent in it due to the drop.
Just wondering should I still RMA? Will they charge me more to repair the bezel? The dent is no more than 2mm but it is quite obvious as it is on the front part of the screen. (I'm so glad the screen didn't crack)
Basically a nightmare trying to stack heavy stuff on top of the device, What was I thinking? I really don't know.
Have you tried to place aluminium paper under the screw.
In fact it should go under the plastic which is under the screw.
Not directly under the screws...
It worked for me.... Because the mother card push the screen out.

No, I didn't open the unit yet.
I thought of doing an exchange first, and if that one still has screen separation problem, I will probably take the problem into my own hands.
My post here was asking if I will be charged for that 2mm dent on the bezel. I have already requested a RMA and have received the RMA email, but they said they will put $200 on my card on hold until they received the original unit. And if the original unit does check out per warranty coverage, they might charge me to repair it.
At least, thats what I read on the ASUS warranty card.
I know its kinda dumb, but the dent make me want to get a replacement even more even though it was originally my fault for causing it.
Has anyone else tried exchanging a damaged device? what are your experiences?

the g2 screen is very fragile the way it was designed has the digitizer wires running around entire screen but the flex cable is in the top right around where the front camera is a single crack will break touch on almost entire screen mainly up to the area where it happened; you should look into a replacement or warranty if you decide to do it yourself make sure to buy lcd+digitizer, I know that replacing only digitizer is cheaper but it's an almost impossible difficult task, I have lots of experience in taking apart electronics and decided to try and replace only digitizer with my g2 in December which ended up in lcd breaking half way through screen dissasembly

well thanks for the reply guess i have to wait another year for my contract to expire since the phones already rooted and warranty wont affect it :/

My positive experience with Sony Xperia 2 year warranty.

Just thought I'd share a positive customer service story with regards my nearly 2 year old device. A common fault among Z2's is the back panel peeling off the back because of failing adhesive. I sent my fairly well used (some scratches on the frame, wonky power button, scratched camera glass..) phone off to be repaired and got essentially a brand new phone sent back to me! All I can imagine is they have a large stock of outer cases in the warehouse as the fault was just the back panel not the whole outer casing! If you're close to the end of your warranty and have some issues that might be covered, I had a very positive experience when I sent my phone in for repair and so might you!
Nice...
me to,
my z2 had an issue with the LCD , the glas wasn't broken or the LCD. The LCD was shown some crap thing, like a frozen Display.
Also the Power Button, had some issue, sometimes the phone goes in standby, by reading, gaming or something else.
And the camera had a kind of fog on the pictures.
And yes I got a brand new z2 back
For me it's exactly the opposite, I sent the phone for a 3.5mm jack repair and they told me my screen was broken and that I had to pay.
Wtf sony?
