You need to ask that on the T Mobile section. This is international section, no one owns a T Mobile version here.

Yes, the bootloader is unlocked....sort of. If you are on 5.1.1 DOK2 and above, you cannot go back to 4.4.4 or 5.0.1. See the tmobile section for guides for each version of the software but, generally, yes you can flash twrp and then a rom of your choice.

It won't wipe anything, it'll just update you to 4.4.4.

This is probably a newb question, but if I flash a custom recovery.img, is the stock one gone? Or is it still stored someplace else on the phone?

Boost Mobile uses CDMA. For your XT1034 you need a UMTS AWS firmware like falcon_umts.AWSRetail.en.CA or falcon_umts.AWSRetail.en.US

I suggest to read a lot here on XDA forums before you do anything.
I've never heard there was no KitKat update for a certain model. It will most likely get the update in the near future and you don't have to do anything. I'm curious what your carrier is...
And if there really is no update for your carrier's model you can flash an other XT1034 firmware via fastboot, like the ones in my previous post
Hi everyone,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 with AT&T. I'm on Android 4.2.2 and my phone is rooted. I wanted to update to Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) so I went to SuperSU and selected the unroot option. Everything appears to be unrooted (apps that require root access no longer work and I downloaded an app called Root Checker which confirmed that my phone is no longer rooted). My only concern before I proceed with the update is that, when I power on the phone, it shows the unlocked padlock with the words "Custom" underneath it. With that said, is it safe to proceed with the update?
Thanks in advance.
Are you on mdb or mdl firmware I would highly recommend you don't update. You have the ability to flash 4.4.2 roms

If you don't know you probably didn't back it up. But try to restore in cwm and see if there is a backup there. I'd backup up the device with cwm first though

I've tried the KK safestrap on Jasmine 6.1 (5.0 LP) and as far as I can tell it doesn't work for me. The developer has stopped the support of it so our only hope is a tool to make it compatible or perhaps someone else to pick up the development of satestrap at some point if possible?
After 5.0 they had fireflash or flashfire I think. Can't remember the name and worked for me on with 5.0 before. which is like the safestrap

And since SS is loaded before the OS booted, then if there was a problem booting such as a bootloop, SS would allow you to recover a backup. Flashfire only works if the OS is able to load. Most important to me is the ability to access the OS files via the file manager and rename files. Many times when trying a MOD you may rename the original files and the new files will cause a bootloop. In this case SS will allow you to restore the backup files. Flashfire is useless for this.
Fireflash is sketchy at best. Lol.
But SS doesn't and for the note 3 prolly will never work on LP

First, please take the time to use the search function if you want help as most members who know a thing or two about this kind of stuff are not going to help if you are not going to first help yourself.
There are many threads in the Verizon section with guides on how to do so.

By the way figured out why my efs backup wouldnt restore noticed in twrp that efs backup size was 0 mb. Flashfire backup put it at 27 mb i think. So twrp is not truly backing up efs i think at least not on mine. But i made a few efs backups with several apps.
