Yeah I tried it. But I didn't notice a huge difference

make sure you have fully rooted your phone. I flashed SUPERSU by chainfire after flashing this mod.
It maybe that you have lost root access after flashing this mod. Just flash SUPERSU again, then use some root checker app to check if your root is enabled again.

flashed the mod on sMiui which is rooted by default, flashed SuperSu again immediately after flashing the mod (even without rebooting as the instructions say)...
even after that CpuZ and the other apps say that my governor is "interactive"
True. Always interactive in mine too. Fully rooted /w sMIUI etc. Also the energy consumption was noticably worse, and the phone was not entering 'deep sleep'. Tried also to disable MIUI's energy management and restrictions in case there was a conflict.
Do you mean "scaling governor"? Mine shows "ondemand". Is it correct then?
Btw, what governor shows CPU-Z before the flash of MPDECISION?

what rom and how exactly u flashed it ?
it is interactive by default
P.S.
hotplug works though, it shuts down cores, just that the governor is still interactive (which actually shoud lead to more smooth performance at minimum cost).

I have Xiaomi.eu ROM dev MIUI 8 6.7.28
I didn't have root before flashing all so I restarted in recovery, flashed MPDECISION zip and then SuperSu Zip (downloading before the SuperApp). After all I wiped chache and dalkiv.
My cores shut down too. Now let's see if this really improves battery life, because before they didn't shut down, right?
And what governor is better: ondemand or interactive?

Hi,
i am dev of that mod.
I changed the governor of 1st core to interactive to achieve a little smoother unlocking of the phone. all other cores are running on ondemand.
Most of the Apps like CPU-Z only show governor of the first core "cpu0" because they assume that the governor is the same for all cores.
Should have added that to the Blog, sorry for that.
If anyone encounters battery drain, don't jump into concluding it's the mod. In the past two miui dev releases there is a bug with FP unlock which does not allow cores to go into deep sleep etc. So if you don't see improvement, try disabling fingerprint unlock until upstream release is patched.

I got minicm and i tried both manual and automatic(.zip) instalation of overclocking module, and when my phone gets near 710Mhz(the...stable clock) it will reboot i'm now using Stock Clock 600Mhz(with module OC uninstaled)
OS USED: MiniCm RC1
you should try the manual instruction n edit the hw_config.sh+ add the parameters on it(to set it on boot)...the update.zip just adding the x8oc.ko only

Yayz, I'm not alone) so, guys, any suggestions for us to get Overclock working?
+1
I Tried the "X8 Nexus Rom" wich is a MiniCM with OC preloaded.
With this ROM, the phone reboots 1minute after being started
I think it's due to OC but I don't know how to disable it in this ROM.
i'v done this with manual edit on floyo, hackdroid rc4, minicm, and stock rom,
always work.
i don't know why u can't, its not a rom problem.
if u do it right n still don't work,
maybe its on processor.. (somebody said that here, every proc has it own potential)
There is no way to automatic-install the OC feature, even the developer itself said that it's the matter of time to release .zip files to auto-install.
My answer is: manual install - 100% of satisfaction

You need to remember, that your CPUs are in fact a part of a huge silicon wafel, and that there are differences among them. Your CPUs apparently have been cut out from the part of that wafel that doesn't like overclocking and you can do nothing about it. Also, there are some FSB gaps, so if 710 MHz causes reboot or hands the device, try some higher freqs, they might actually work

I think is safe (for me), had been using it since V003 until now, using 768mhz almost 1 week, no reboot at the moment.
All latest ROMs for X8 come with OC preloaded
(nexus v1, nexus v2, minicm rc2)
And they all make my f.....ing phone reboot every minute !! Even after full wipe.
Please developpers !! Stop include overclock in all your roms !!!
Returns to 600mhz
I can not use the overclock because when I reboot the phone it is on 691Mhz soon after he returns to 600mhz. I know that the CPU clock is dynamic, but he never returns to 691mhz. What did I do wrong? I used the XDA tutorial for overclocking. I'm using Floyo v0.25

Thanks to this post my phones battery is going to last a lot longer May i ask, how do you take a screenshot on your phone?
I use G3Mod Ultimate 1.3.4 200-1200 Mhz and I keep it simple
I have just one option enabled in profile, which is if temp > 40 clock 200-400 conservative
Rest I have kept it at 200-800 Mhz On Demand at all times.
When I play Games I set it to 600-1200 On Demand.
I have been using it since 1.3.4 G3Mod Ultimate was released, and have not faced any Overheating, Lags, freezes what so ever. It does last around 1.5 to 2 days.
My quadrant score (ofcourse other tweaks as mentioned in my signature also applies)
at 600-800 on demand is around 590
at 600-1200 on demand is around 710

Hello there, nice work!
I have a few questions, if you don't mind:
I have a rooted Oppo Find 5. I installed the Faux 123 kernel, but it has less features than the ones you describe (check out the pics),
I have now installed this rom: ALL in 1 PAC 22.3 Nightlies (which I believe has its own kernel, and i don't know if they are compatible), but the Faux works the same as when I tried it with the stock rom...
Any advice?
By the way, what can I do to improve the battery's efficiency with this kernel?
Thanks!!

These are the settings I have. You can usually underclock the CPU by 50-100mV without any problems. For the frequency governor I found conservitive works the best for me when trying to save power as it reduces the frequency as much as possible while maintaining responsiveness. For the CPU governor, userspace turns all cores on while runnable activates the least amount of cores necessary.

No, I have a Google Nexus. The Faux123 kernel default overclocks the CPU and GPU.
Faux kernel only works properly in Oppo's stock firmware and deodexed variants.
Most of kernels in 4.2.2 doesn't have the same options like undervolting, z-control or even the same governors.

Yes, you have to install the kernel to configure it with the app, here is a download link to latest version. http://faux.androidro.ms/FIND5/jb41/FIND5-jb-kernel-002u.zip
Download the zip then flash it with recovery (must be through CWM or TWRP)

Agreed, same here. I'll maybe give it another try in a few months or so. Until then i just don't recommend to use the Cyanogenmod.
It happens with every single FXP out there, same as for 10.1 and 10.2.
They aren't even capable of fixing the torch for the older ones, so this may be a major problem for them and the reason why it's not fixed yet
same as for other things like using the LEDs correctly or integrate some of the functions that a stock rom does have, like the function to use WLAN only if in range, stamina mode and stuff like that. They have other "priorities."

what about those who do not have their BL unlock?..
Hi,
I think the problem regards the cpu governor of some firmware's stock kernel, or some device's cpu gets hot faster than other..
Try this:
Install a cpu control app from the store (es. "no-frills cpu control")
open it and change the governor to "interactive"
press apply
do the benchmark again..
OR
Keep the stock governor (ondemand) but set the max freq of the cpu at 1674
apply and try again..
In my case those solutions work both.
Let me know and press thanx if it has been useful
cheers
worked

Hey all!
after alot of try out's
found the best combo for performance and usability almost twice in most benchmarks
1.TWRP 3.2.1
2.Rooted Stock rom (1.54)
3.Green kernel
4.Soundmod
5.Magisk SU (had to reinstall busybox)
6.Med torchmod
7.Xposed (greenify,gravitybox)
8.Kernel Adiutor
9.swap file for extra RAM (UHSIII sdcard) along with zram
10.Thermal FSC mod
11.Vulkan API
Credits and thanks to: GreyLeshy, korom42, trax7,
Looks interesting. I've only just rooted my old E5823. May gonna go for it. Have you rooted yours yourself or there is one ready somewhere?
Hi,
It could be interesting to post your settings for each optimization you applied, I think specifically for: green kernel/Kernel adiutor, xposed, thermal FSC, and Vulkan
Yep, recommended settings would be nice. I used the regular (not plus) Thermal FSC mod. I skipped Soundmod, Torchmod, swap file, and Vulkan because I didn't see any personal need for those. I didn't know what to do with Kernel Adiutor, and all my apps use Google Cloud Messaging which Greenify doesn't support in the free version, so I skipped those too. So far, so good though.

Looks interesting. I've only just rooted my old E5823. May gonna go for it. Have you rooted yours yourself or there is one ready somewhere?

Yep, recommended settings would be nice. I used the regular (not plus) Thermal FSC mod. I skipped Soundmod, Torchmod, swap file, and Vulkan because I didn't see any personal need for those. Hi,
It could be interesting to post your settings for each optimization you applied, I think specifically for: green kernel/Kernel adiutor, xposed, thermal FSC, and Vulkan

just flashed them and its working fine, latest green kernel, regular thermal FSC, Kernel adiutor at 1st: ive use it to reduced Zram size, but it didnt had noticeable performance boost
xposed its for greenfiy to save battery (about battery 3% per night) gravitybox for GUI tweaks like EQ visualizer at navbar\lockscreen while play music\ add more volume levels
i used the recovery to flash at all some took very long boot time, especially xposed.. was almost 10mins for 1st boot
benchmarks
antutu 120K instead of 90K
basemark X 41K instead of 23K
geekbench4 result (3600 instead of 2600)
("average" its the max i've got before rooting and tweaking the phone, FSC helped the most for that)
now i've got the same result as Xperia XZ (with SnapDragon820)

I've installed the Vulkan drivers too, and sinced then, I've got around 120k like you on Antutu; but I don't really understand why: I've got better CPU results, but do you know why is that ? I thought the Vulkan drivers would only influence the GPU rating.
About Xposed, did you figure how to keep SafetyNet ? I really care about this.
Thanks
Vulkan Driver

Can some pleas make flash .zip stock rom latest?
A stock rom is not zip flashable, you have to use xperifirm + flashtools from a computer for that
Please make stock rom flashabale?
Cool stuff superman just got a new bootloader unlocked z5 compact off ebat £107 delivered, going to root and install your tweaks

Could you post links or guide on how to get bench ie.... kernal settings
Stock Rom and using swap ram, init.d,fsc and etc, it's going to affect the use of the phone's performance. It's very bad experience.
Finally best choice: [ROM][7.1x][Unofficial][suzuran] Resurrection Remix v5.8.5 for Sony Xperia Z5 Compact
FSC and LXT mod don't work for me, so I go with this :https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/development/rom-stock-z5c32-3-0-376r2dau-t3570248
Only missing the wireguard implentation.
What soundmod are you using?
for z3 , unlock bootloader will effect the low light capture , will this happen in z5c?

You are right (loading part taking longer) but!
if i play RAM Apps like CSR2\ PUBG that drinking RAM usually cause close other apps or even it self, with swap file it wont happens
i just turn it on when i need to.
