HELP!!! Killed my beloved device...? (Upgrading)

Hi all.
Need some help really bad. Tried to upgrade my magician (s100) to ROM 1.11.133WWE from qtek.se.
Did exactly as it said I had to but as soon as I started the upgrading my magician went all dead and black and the install shield wizard went down. The only thing left on the computer screen is a box that says: "checking the information on your device... please wait...
Please dont disconnect your device from your PC until the update is completed".
So what do I do?!?!
Am desperate to get my device working again!
Please please help me!

I'm really sorry to here this ... anyway..
As far as I know.. u have my to disconnect ur PPC from the USB cable, then restart PC, u should continue to upgrade after u PC restarts..
u may also try to change the port of the USB cable as well...
this may work on Win XP, I don't know anything about other OS..
I'm not sure about this since I did not face this problem b4..but this solution was reported in another forum ( and maybe here )
I hope this will help...and maybe someone else could give u more INFO...

Got it working!
Did a couple of reboots and that made the trick...
Now, my only problem is that I cant seem to restore my backup-files
Does anyone know where I can download the free program o2plus that I had earlier? Can´t find it anywhere. Loved that thing...

I believe it is better if u do a new fresh installation of everything instead of making a restoration
many users reported problems when restoring after an upgrade...
mostly, ur device will become very slow ....

[Q]HTC elf : Cannot Hard Reset/Read info.

I have a HTC ELF 0100 i want to change the language to english but i cant make anything. I try to hard reset the phone but this also is impossible. there is Windows mobile 6.1 installed in it.
Things you might need to know:
I HOLD the green and red Button and click on reset - for hard reset but nothing happens
To update an english rom i need to CID unlock. but this also fails saying ERROR 260.
And when try to upload a COOK rom it says ERROR 260 and the HTC screen become black i.e standy mode. it does not goes to the BOOTLOADER mode!
Where is the PROBLEM please help urgent !!

im sorry to tell u, but probably u dont have and elf. its a clone.
search the forum for clone info.

But i can assure you it an original one. Not clone or china made. But one things is that the battery is not an original one.
But i can assure you that the mobile is original. Not a China made.

Use dsixda's All-in-one tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418892 ) to find the specific type of your phone.

Hi man thx for the REPLY but this also i tried !! it does not shows anything !! Only giving Data UNKONw or something like that!
I was able to install ENABLERAPI.cab to make the above PROGRAM work.
i want to know why the ElF is not able to HARD RESET.... I HOLD the TWO BUTTONS [red&green] and PRESS RESET but it never enter the HARD reset..
Very Strange and time comsuming for me i need a REAL solution !!

Big chance your phone is a fake.. I'm sorry man..
Perhaps if you posted some pictures of your device (also the backside without the cover, and one without the battery) some might be able to help you figure out what's going on.

All what you mentioned : No hard reset, No bootloader, No Data with mtty mean one thing this is a chinese clone of ELF and you will find no solution here

HTC Mega dead

my HTC mega is dead, wont respond or even charge anymore. It happend after i run HARDspl. I have tried doing hard reset and soft reset but don't get any response from phone

I'm sorry to hear that. The file "check.bin" is created in the subdir called "1" on your PC after you ran flash-hardspl.bat
Please post it here.

i have tried various combination to get into the boot loader but it dosent respond to it.. do you have any idea how you can get into bootloader?

Remove your battery, sim and sd cards, leave the cards out, replace the battery after a while and try and boot.
P.S. Can you "undelete" the file jockyw is after?

Then I'm afraid it is a brick and at the moment there is nothing I can do for you. It's a pity you didn't keep the files for further diagnostics.

check.bin
if this file can save ur device... have you tried looking at your pc's recycle bin?

Guys, you all have good intentions to support him, but there is nothing we can do right now. No need to post your files.

My mega showed some errors when it came to reporting real battery level and would not boot at one time.
You should also try to leave it charging over the night and try again.

I have tried everything but i dont get any response from the phone.
I was thinking if i get new board fitted in my phone will that get me up and running again?

Does the PC prompt you to install new drivers if you connect the phone to PC by USB cable. To be sure the phone is on you would need to remove and reinsert the battery and then power on.

i wanted 2 Flash The linuxDX kernel 2 my phone
Thru the Flashtool .. On my Pc
Anyway
Downloaded The file put it in place ..
Turned off the phone (( i FORGOT 2 TICK THE USB DEBUGGING )) !
So Turned the flasher On .. Clicked on Flash
i selected the LinuxDX on the Right there was Loader.sin And kernel.sin
i've chosen Both .. Anyway .. While Flashing .. Got an Error
Telling me 2 Tick the usb debugging .. I said no problem
Disconnected the phone
Then clicked the power button..
shakes .. Then nothin ..
Wtf???? Screen is Dead??
i waited .. so it goes on
Tried 2 call with another phone ..
its off.. Uhmm???????
..
Okay
No problem
Turned SEUS ( sony ericsson update service )
Started the repairing Process
The phone is connected FINE!!
software is downloaded .. Damn !!
Installing the software ..
Wait ..
It's Stuck .. ?
waited even more..

[SCREEN] Nexus S I9023 , Screen with shadows !

Trying several ICS Customs Roms , after installing one of the ROM,the device no longer wanted to open !!!
( Before this operation.....flashing more roms ... I left without support usb funtion- very rarely or never connect on USB cable)
Tring to repair into aut. center ....no succes..they said they found traces of oxidation phone - because water.... ???
Ok ! but...can not pay for a repair more than we gave new phone ...isn't true ?
After that after few days tring to connect USB cable on Windows 7....I saw : update driver - Samsung SEC S5PC110 TEST B/D - unrecognized driver ...and windows did not want to install it ! OK ...was the first good sign after almost a week of downtime ....
Knowing the AdamOuter's tutorial....I only tried to revive him ..but each time unsuccessfully !!??
After almost a week since the phone was opened and no battery - today I try again the UnBrickable Resurrector method....and without touching it only after a few seconds....Big surprise !!!, resurrector work and was able to reinstall ( with fastboot - cmd) bootloader.img, boot.img and recovery.img
After that , into recovery I chose to reinstall the initial version 2.3.3 ( luckily mine was on the sdcard ) ...everything went magnificent ! ...but only up here .
tring to reboot devices ....device boot ....but again surprise...and not well .
Now the screen is dark yellow shadows....I do not think anything can be done to repair this defect....and USB connection problem remained the same ( USB not connected !)
( The shadows are now everywhere, the keyboard, the wallpapers on the menu, the bootloader but not in original recovery menu !)
In my opinion I think it might be graphics card fault but may be any....and why USB cable now does not want to connect ....and into ubunto with UnBrickable Resurrector it was able to connect ? ..very very strange !
I have all the driver installed into win 7 even samsung for Odin....trying all methods of connecting ( with USB debugging - on - off) - ....charging only works !
...wait your advice and opinions ! Thanks in advanced ...

Nobody can tell me if it is possible to damage the screen or video card after a ICS custom rom installation ?
If it not possible then I think that those in rep. service changed my screen, because I refused to pay reparation. ( before repair ,I was informed that I have to pay for this , but I refused and they sent me the phone back in a few days without repaired....) .
Now I have it queries....maybe the screen it was bricked after last custom flash ...or those in the service changed my screen - thinking that I will not fix it.
If anyone is willing to try this custom ??? to see about what happens afterwards ...then I'll post this custom rom...but attention you'll brick your device and only solution is AdamsOutler tools ...

Sorry but I do not understand your question....by the way - now my phone work great , you are right, everything work well without USB connections, and those spots dark yellow !!! ( at least white looks like dark yellow ).
I believe that the screen is not broken, because running Voodoo Screen Test , all colors are impeccable, no shadow , no colors mixed ....
If anyone knows a more complete test program, something to color or graphics...to see exactly what is defective ? ( or maybe a solution to remove this defect ?) - I will be grateful ! Thanks in advanced ....
