Hi all.
Need some help really bad. Tried to upgrade my magician (s100) to ROM 1.11.133WWE from qtek.se.
Did exactly as it said I had to but as soon as I started the upgrading my magician went all dead and black and the install shield wizard went down. The only thing left on the computer screen is a box that says: "checking the information on your device... please wait...
Please dont disconnect your device from your PC until the update is completed".
So what do I do?!?!
Am desperate to get my device working again!
Please please help me!

As far as I know.. u have my to disconnect ur PPC from the USB cable, then restart PC, u should continue to upgrade after u PC restarts..
u may also try to change the port of the USB cable as well...
this may work on Win XP, I don't know anything about other OS..
I'm not sure about this since I did not face this problem b4..but this solution was reported in another forum ( and maybe here )
I hope this will help...and maybe someone else could give u more INFO...

Got it working!
Did a couple of reboots and that made the trick...
Now, my only problem is that I cant seem to restore my backup-files
Does anyone know where I can download the free program o2plus that I had earlier? Can´t find it anywhere. Loved that thing...

I believe it is better if u do a new fresh installation of everything instead of making a restoration
many users reported problems when restoring after an upgrade...
mostly, ur device will become very slow ....

I read in some topic before, I think it was about upgrading to rom 1.11 in this forum that if you try to go through the same procedure to upgrade rom it solves the problem. I am not sure how, so look for this in the first pages of topic related to the rom 1.11 or 1.06 I am not sure. Hope someone can help you better.
I had the same problem with my XDAIIs, the upgrade stopped mid-upgrade
I just rebooted the computer and then started the upgrade again, it all worked perfect.
Hope this helps if you haven't already solved the problem.
disconnect your device from the USB cable..
then restart your computer
then try to continue the upgrading... ( u can also try to change where the USB is plugged into the PC.. I mean form com1 to com2 for instance )

I am in real trouble. while trying to unlock i hard-resetted it, but now the phone is got stuck in tri-colour mode, I don't know what to do. Basically now it went like funny. it would not turn on, while u put it on to charge it will show the tri-colour and also if i leave it on charge it is getting hot. Do u guys recon any chip to be hitted?
if u need to know anything else pls let me know.

Not actually, basically one of my friend tried to unlock it in first place. I don't really know what he did with that. but the phone is totally dead now. If anyone can help me that will be highly appreciated because this phone is not mine, this is customer's.
If he tried to put rom on it what consequence would happen and is there any way to get out of there?

It's me again. I think on this the software is missing. Because if i connect it to the computer it brings on the tri-colour and shows usb connection. So, the software i think missing. If anyone can give me a link how to put the software in there i will appreciate that. But still i am not pretty sure why it is getting hot while charge and why it is not turning on even it charged.

Try it ... search for Tri-Color or Bootloader Mode.
still no solution
No success mate. I have downloaded the mtty. and it says usb port cannot open. but if i go to com3 it allows me to write something over there. i write boot on it but nothing happening , and actually i don't know what would happen?

If he cant Open ... shut down your Activ Sync!
If you cant ... use a other PC. Vista have some bugs and Windows XP 64 too.
i was upgrading my prophet but wen it was reboot it stucked on 3 colour screen and stoped and when i connect USB the computer give sound tht a device got connected but the prophet dont show any sign that a light which get on when we connect usb or chraging adapter and the active sync only shows an error in computer when i unconnect the usb,.,.,.,.please please help me i beg of u senior member's.,.,.,.,.,i would be very thankful to

Hi everyone i was wondering if anyone could help me... i have several questions about my htc touch elf see i just upgraded it to the onyx 4.something version and after 4 days the wifi stoped working it wont turn on and it wont detect my sd card either... i was wondering if anyone could help me on how to degrade it to a better ROM or anything cause when i try to degrade the onyx 4.something to 3.0 it says it cant establish a conection between the phone and the computer when i run the romupgradeutlity and when i hit the upgradeimage buttom... ... please help me.. thanks a lot!

please try a hard reset, that should help solve the problems.
i doubt if this is anything to do with ROM you flashed (since you have flashed successfully, as your phone does boot.
if none of this works please post.
a hard reset should help you though.

please make sure that your USB cable is working.
pleasemake sure your computer has active sync 4.5 installed ( if windows XP)
or the latest WMDC (if vista or win7 )
also regarding the memory card, are u sure the card is fine ?
please put it another device/card reader and check, try formatting it and see if ur elf detects it.
ROMs usually don't have anything to do with memory drivers.
what HSPL/USPL did u flash ?

yeah it works on other devices.... the usb cable is working really fine and i dont know what uspl i flashed .. . like i mean everything went rite until 4 days after i instaled the onyx 4.0 ultimate everything was working fine with it but 4 days later it started to give me that problem ... and i try to change ROM but i cant it wont let me i run active sync andeveyrthing it says its conected i run the romupdateutiliy then the status bar opens up but it stays at 0% and then the error 222 shows up... but my phone goes to the bootloader but it wont pass from there.. and when i close the romupdateutility my phone switches to the status bar but stays in 0% and then my phone crashes and i have to unbrick it.
first of all please do not open 3 different threads for the same problem, i have removed the other two.
also as aman said try posting in the the rom thread.
please read thee thread which have been stickied on the ROM development thread.

hi tried to install a new rom it was the htc android one everything was working fine until i switched it of now all that happens is i switch itn on and its keeps saying wait loading with a picture of a bird and a android robot on cant connect by usb as i did something to usb setting something about debugging usb now it wont recognise phone when i connect pls help

You must specify what device you have, and which ROM you flashed.
Also post the issue in the ROM thread not here.
Read well before flashing next time.
