I noticed after I downloaded the newest update that my wifi is alot slower at home. Everything else I run from home (ps4, computer, etc) run fine. Anyone else running into this issue? I just got a new modem/router from Comcast and internet was fine before I did this update. This is a dual band router which I thought may have something to do with it but not sure. Anyone else having issues?

Did you notice this playing a game, on the web like Facebook or downloading files? I would run a speedtest and see what the real speed, then compare it to a PC on wifi. Get a speedtest app and use speedtest.net on the PC.

Those are not bad speeds at all. I would go into Data Usage, hit More then turn on Wifi usage. Hit the new WIFI tab at the top and see the amount of data these apps are using. Maybe something is hogging the connection?
Looks like you have a VPN running. That is known to slow down connection speed as well
That's what I'm thinking! Speeds are great. I'll check out the setting you mentioned

so as everyone knows knows T-mobile started to throttle speeds once a user passes 5GB of data. Well here is how to go back to unthrottled speeds.
Simply click menu-> settings -> Wireless & networks -> mobile networks
then you are going to want to click to use only 2G networks. Click back and wait till it connects to edge.
then go back and uncheck Use only 2G networks
(must repeat upon reboot)
You should now be connected to an throttled 3G network. Personally i was getting about 60 kbps before i did it and after i get around 2000 kbps.

Lol... guys, you do know there is already a thread about this in development, right?
You guys really need to learn to use the search button before posting duplicate threads.
I already had someone steal my work today but this looks unintentional and is a far inferior method to disabling the data cap (aka throttle). Check out development if you want a more permanent method...

Hey, can somebody post a screen with their top speed (wifi) from their phone? I'm curious what real-world performance is between the "42mbps" radios is.
Ps-my home internet is rated at 18meg, so with devices connected, this is probably most of the pipe.

How can you have a WiFI speed test .
Its dependant upon the speed of the users connection and those are many and varied 3meg can be a good connection for some .
Mine is within about 1% next to the router but drops the further i move away .

Not a flame, but what are you talking about?
Wi-Fi has nothing to do with what the "42mbps" radio is. That is HSPA+, and is not in use when Wi-Fi is connected. And it is totally dependent on your carrier, and their APN.
On AT&T, H+ can be different depending on which APN you are on - either "wap.cingular", "phone", or "pta".
If you are connected to Wi-Fi, your speed will be totally dependent on your Wi-Fi connection's speed, and will have nothing to do with the HSPA+ radio or your carrier.
Processor? What I know is this - my Sensation can't pull these numbers over WiFi. I realize that it's not the best test, because it is not cell data. However, I wanted to see what kind of throughput my phone is capable of, and how an S2 does. And yeah, internet speeds differ, but somebody out there has an S2 and WiFi as fast as mine. I suppose my curiosity is more toward "does it utilize it fully" more than "I live by a tower and my cell speed is X" - which seems far more arbitrary to me.

No offense, but this is worse than arbitrary. You have no way of knowing if someone else's Wi-Fi is the same speed as yours, which already makes this "test" invalid.
If you want to know a true comparison between S2 Wi-Fi performance vs Amaze Wi-Fi performance, you'll need the two phones side-by-side hooked up to the same Wi-Fi.
My s2 pulls from 10Mb to 24Mb
Connection is 50Mb

This comes to show me just how little data one gets with Verizon and AT&T. Wow, one large download or 3 Netflix movie and you're done for the month!! No thanks I'll pass. You guys could show off all your network speeds all you want, at the end of the day who gives a **** how fast you go if you can't really use it for anything without going over your limit. I'll stay with Sprint and my unlimited data. Being on the list of the first to get LTE also helps my decision to stay with sprint.

It's impossible to support millions of customers on a network without it straining. They prioritize quality of the network over unrestricted access. So it works great for as long as you're allowed to use it, or pay overages.

Quick question to the pro's
Whilst I haven't put a SIM card in my lovely new N4 yet (awaiting mico SIM from Vodafone) I thought I would set it up over WiFi.
I can connect to my router, home network and home server fine, but it is just sooooo slow and continually timesout. I have changed the settings, frequencies etc, restored router to factory settings and back to saved profile, but nothing seems to help.
Play store spits me out, and I have reset the N4 to factory 3 times now.
I will try on other Wifi networks over the weekend, and on mobile data when SIM card arrives, but was just wondering if I am doing something obvious wrong or it other have have similar experiences?
thanks
edit.......I did manage to do a system update, and now on 4.2.1
In my experience it is really fast. I get 30mbps down, as fast as I get on my desktop.

My N4 connects nicely to the router as follows from the settings
Status - Connected
Signal Strength - Excellent
Link Speed - 72Mbps
Thinking (hoping) it the talktalk router, as since I updated the firmware I have had other problems...........need to test elsewhere I think first!
Thanks
wifi issue is for sure
Look at other posts you will find many people are having wifi issues. I don't think you did anything wrong, it is just the problem of nexus 4.

Thanks, did find a limited number of similar issues listed when I did a basic google search, but hoping it was something else.
SGS2 in one hand works lovely, N4 in the other not!
As I didn't manage to test test it before the update to 4.2.1 I don't know if this release is the issue!

This issue was starting to annoy my experience with the N4 tbh
I just changed my router back to my old one to test, and its now working perfectly!!!! Others have reported issues with D-Link routers, of which the one I was using was a Talktalk supplied D-Link.

Anyone with FAST wifi do speed tests?
One of my issues with the S7E is its wifi was much slower than my Note 5.
My iPhone 7+ hits 600+ up and down on our wave2 AC wifi network here.
The S7E had fast LTE though. Fastest speedtest (Verizon) I recall was around 130 down and 50 up. That's smoking for LTE but bad if you don't have unlimited. LOL
