This comes to show me just how little data one gets with Verizon and AT&T. Wow, one large download or 3 Netflix movie and you're done for the month!! No thanks I'll pass. You guys could show off all your network speeds all you want, at the end of the day who gives a **** how fast you go if you can't really use it for anything without going over your limit. I'll stay with Sprint and my unlimited data. Being on the list of the first to get LTE also helps my decision to stay with sprint.

It's impossible to support millions of customers on a network without it straining. They prioritize quality of the network over unrestricted access. So it works great for as long as you're allowed to use it, or pay overages.

Sorry but speed allows me to use my data the way I'd like. Unlike sprints dialup network. After 6 years of sprint I'm glad I left for att. Much better service.

I was checking sprint today to see if I could order another evo, and I noticed that I've already used over 5gb of data in the two weeks I've had this monster.
Now, I've been using 3g for the internet, pandora, podcasts via google listen and gps via google navigation, but I was still surprised at how much data I've consumed.
I'm willing to bet that I'm not alone, and that lots of other xda users are getting their $10 worth out of the premium data add-on, so if you are a data hog like me, how much data have you used so far?

As much data we used, I think Iphone4 (new AT&T customer) user will be so jealous with there 2 gig limit.
I have had my evo about 2 weeks now and I have consumed 11.1GB wow. I know I had tethered my phone up to my net-book a few times when I need to download some stuff for work, watched some videos, I stream Pandora a lot when im working out, and I browse the internet probably an hour or 2 a day.. I wonder if sprint will be yelling at me anytime soon.

I'm currently @ 186Megs, but i'm also using wi-fi @ the house.
question~ the usage on sprint website shows the 3G usage, not the 4G....right? then how do i know the 4G usage
My bill cycled on 6/9 and I've used 2gb since then. Definitely more than my hero.
i've used 26mb from sprints website, although it seemed liked i used awhole lot more
I want to use the most out of my evo data plan like 40gb lol what will you guys recommend on how to use that much data not excatly 40 but like 20 or so
ive used 1gb >/ now im mad about the 10 bucks
a little over 1GB in like 10 days not bad considering i stream alot of pandora or slacker radio
so as everyone knows knows T-mobile started to throttle speeds once a user passes 5GB of data. Well here is how to go back to unthrottled speeds.
Simply click menu-> settings -> Wireless & networks -> mobile networks
then you are going to want to click to use only 2G networks. Click back and wait till it connects to edge.
then go back and uncheck Use only 2G networks
(must repeat upon reboot)
You should now be connected to an throttled 3G network. Personally i was getting about 60 kbps before i did it and after i get around 2000 kbps.

Lol... guys, you do know there is already a thread about this in development, right?
You guys really need to learn to use the search button before posting duplicate threads.
I already had someone steal my work today but this looks unintentional and is a far inferior method to disabling the data cap (aka throttle). Check out development if you want a more permanent method...

Seems like Tmobile's advertised 4G network is really fast and Samsung hardware has proven better than the competition:

This hardly matters given T-mobile's poor 3G coverage compared to practically every competing major carrier in the US.
It's sort of like the Evo/Epic 4G. Yea, 4G was nice but it's not like I'll have it anytime soon. I'm waiting for Verizon and/or AT&T to launch LTE, or maybe go back to AT&T and get an HSPA+ device. All I need is about 1.5 mbps consistent download speeds and I'm more than happy, TBQH. It's just a phone.
They should make their coverrage better.

Lookie who's back to threadcrapping.
OK I get the want for 4g. I dont see the point in buying a phone with close to the same specs when we have such decent phones around the corner.
Galaxy s 4g is not worth the upgrade for a 2-3 seconds faster page loads. I will hold onto my Vibrant and my soon to be HD2 until the tegra 3 arrives next year.

Speeds in Puerto Rico have been really slow since a couple of months ago. All my friends with Sprint have called Customer Service and they always say that they are making changes to the network and that this problem is temporary. But it have not changed! In fact its getting worse. Yesterday I was really close to a cell tower. I mean I could see the effin light on the top blinking. I could not even get roaming signal! I was not alone as my friend with an Evo and another one with a Samsung where not able to to connect either...
I am strongly considering changing to ATT... They have good Androids now and at least I would have a signal and would not have to pay 10 extra bucks...

I contact Sprint customer service and they told me that there is a temporary outage since 8/22/11 and technicians are working on it. I asked if I would get reimburse for the time without service and the CSR told that I would get reimburse once the service is back and running again.
Didn't know where else to put this so mods please move if need to. Only found older threads, just looking for more current usage.
This is just a general question to all heavy data users regardless of carrier. I'm just curious because when I called to check on my plan the customer service rep was flippin out and said I'm in the TOP 1 percent of data users. I have service with Verizon wireless and thankfully I have unlimited data still. Just looks like I'm not upgrading anytime soon
