Hi,
As there is no v10d zip flashable in twrp, I just would like to know how to update my rooted twrped h850 to the last firmware. Could you help me?
I have to update with lg up with the "upgrade option", and what to do then?
Install twrp again? Root again?

That's not the stock rom though, it's a modified one.
I'd also love to know how I can update to the STOCK 10d when I'm rooted/TWRP installed. What would be the correct steps?
Thanks
simply flash V10d via LGUP
then if you want root, flash TWRP and root package with TWRP

My experience with LGUP tool is not good: it's either does not start or does not see my device.
I wish someone could post TWRP backup (or flashable ZIP) of Radio/Vendor/System/Boot/etc. partitions from V10d...

What I did to get my H850 from 10C to 10D with root:
Download the 10D KDZ from my link 2 comments above
Download and install the LG UP Tool from autoprime's all-in-one thread
Start the LG UP tool as described in the thread, select the KDZ, choose upgrade and start
After it's done boot into Android, the apps will be refreshed
Enter fastboot and flash the recovery with TWRP
Pull the battery after it's done and insert it again
Hold the power button and volume down until you see the LG icon. Quickly let go of the power button and keep holding the power button again.
In the Factory reset screen choose yes twice. Don't worry, it won't wipe your data even if it says so.
In TWRP install the SuperSU via the zip
Reboot into system
If you followed all the steps you still have all your data and a rooted 10D.

I updated succesfully with LGup before your comment here, but messed up with twrp recovery install by letting system boot in between and cleared all my data while trying to enter twrp.. [emoji15] shame on me!
Flashed again twrp and did it properly.
And of course i had old twrp backup but didnt succeed restoring.. Everything kept fc'ing..
Then i flashed with LGup again + twrp and supersu.
All good for now i had an LG backup and got it working and apps and part of data restored! [emoji2]

I just got my LG G2 back from service. There was no warranty involved at all but I still left it with stock. When I got it back i noticed that the phone had been updated to the 80220H firmware. The batterylife is amazing but I miss Cloudy G3....
Is there any possibility to downgrade so I can get root and custom recovery back? Any way to do it with a tool from a PC?
Best regards

Try to root with strump apk or ioroot, install autorec apk for custom recovery and follow the OP instructions to instructions to flash cloudyg3 or whatever.....
To return to stock, download kdz file for our phone model and use LG flash tools, do a factory reset.

Well... Strump wants to "use bruteforce" because the phone isn´t supported, thanx to the 80220H update. Same thing with Towelroot. The question is, do I dare to try it? The agressive methot, I mean.

Use ioroot http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/ioroot/ioroot.zip, in sideload method, it works fine.
Enable Developer Mode on the phone and enable USB Debugging.
From the PC, with phone connected in usb , tape adb cmd: adb reboot recovery
The phone reboot in the stock recovery, in the menu go to "Apply update from ADB".
In the PC, extract datroot.zip from ioroot archive (in bts folder), and tape adb cmd : adb sideload datroot.zip.
That's all, enjoy and thank @autoprime and @thecubed

Hello,
I have an old, fully working G2 and try to install root (and then TWRP) before giving it to my daughter.
My PC has PC Suite installed, recognizes G2 when connected, and all entries in Device Manager looks OK.
All tools that I found on the network start the rooting process, push the files, succeed to enter download mode and then get stuck at "firmware download mode" - it never moves from 0%. The phone can be power-cycled to reboot to the OS, and happily works ever after (unrooted).
Any help will be appreciated,
Try Kingroot...
Hi I had similar issue with g2 802...couldn't get it to go into download mode when connected to PC...
Ended up using Kingroot to root device...
and...
autorec twrp for kitkat...to install TWRP
Hope this helps

I can enter the download mode without problem, and OS is not KitKat. I tried StompRoot - but if refused to root the phone, wrote "Phone is patched, sorry". Will try Kingroot tonight.
Srk tool....try this excellent program/software....
Hi again....
Okay please try the above tool....
All the details are on the web page....
I tried this tool it certainly had a good go at rooting my phone
and maybe this helped the Kingroot program to work
Hope the works if Kingroot doesn't work either....
If you do manage to root your phone I recommend resurrection remix ROM
Its fast and very well supported....

Currently I am trying to install TWRP.
When I try to enter recovery mode I get "fastboot mode started" instead. Tried
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.6.3.2-g2rog.img
and from adb shell:
Code:
su
dd if=/storage/emulated/0/twrp.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
doesn't work
I have G2 802, international, but can't find twrp image for this model on TWRP site,so I tried image for Rogers ...
Tried also TWRP manager app ...
autorec d802...lollipop ........on playstore.....
Okay......please try installing Twrp....by using AUTOREC D802 lollipop....
from the google play store....
This is a brilliant way to install Twrp....so quick
I had a similar problem....
Let us know if it works ....thanks

In order to flash TWRP with AutoRec, do I need a specific bootstack?
I have a D802 and I'm currently on lastest Lollipop firmware, and I haven't root it.
I was on stock lollipop.

Tried Autorec - does nothing. When I click on the "candy" that should initiate recovery install - nothing happens.
I tried to install using TWRP manager app, and using adb shell commands - I get error messages (something about critical error, and prompt to enter download mode or reboot) when entering recovery mode. Phone itself continues to be fully functional (and rooted), just without recovery mode.

yes for aosp'd and cm's you need hybrid to boot into system. unless is resurrection remix i think that uses JB bootstacks something like that. be sure to flash hybrid and then reboot the recovery to take efeect. so reboot into recovery from recovery not to system then flash rom.
Try to reinstall old LG driver (LGUnitedMobileDriver_S51MAN313AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.13.2.exe). After installing old driver 3.13 instead 3.14 it works

Hi!
I recently updated my LG G4 from V20A (I think) to V20G. My bootloader is unlocked and I had TWRP/root prior. Now, my TWRP and root seem to be gone. I've tried a number of things, but nothing seems to work. All root solutions seem to involve a pre-rooted kernel V20A. I presume I need V20G to match the software version - is that correct?
Where do I start?
Thank you! :good:

I assume you updated to V20G with LGUp or some other tool by flashing a KDZ. You cannot root any MarshMallow version, you must downgrade to a Lollipop version and root it.

You're wrong. In MarshMallow, if you have bootloader unlock, you can flash a Custom Recovery and then, from this recovery install SuperSU. But you must use some lastest version of SuperSU (it can autopatch BOOT before install).

My bad then. I do not know why everybody kept saying that you cannot root a Marshmallow stock Rom. I guess they were talking about all G4s. It makes sense that unlocking the bootloader could allow writing a custom recovery.

Yes, that's what I understand as well - but there's so much conflicting information out there, and not a clear step-by-step guide on what to do. My bootloader is unlocked. How do I proceed? It seems that flashing TWRP only works by first loading it from fastboot and then flashing it - but I'm not sure. I'd really appreciate some guidance. Thank you! :good:

I've a LG G4 (H815), but I use TWRP Recovery for LG G4 T-Mobile USA (H811) because for some reason, the first don't let me boot with it. Anyway, with the smartphone ON:
Connect it to Computer
Copy to internal memory a SuperSU
Reboot in bootloader/fastboot mode:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Boot with TWRP Recovery:
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.0.2-0-h811.img
From TWRP Recovery, accept to allow it make changes, and 'install' the SuperSU
Reboot smatphone normally, and that is all.

YES! This worked and was so easy. Thank you, THANK YOU! You're a genius! This should be a sticky. It's so much easier than so many other guides out there. Also - weird that one has to use a different version of TWRP for it to work.

Hi!
If you're rooted, the OTA update does not work and won't install. I'm not sure if it works via LG Bridge - I think it won't wipe anything. My device was wiped because of incorrect TWRP installation. Good luck!

He should have used H815 one... Using H811 on H815 can make you a lot of problems like system partition might be on bootloader or so, so it's risky to do anything in recovery not designed for your specific model

Hello all!
I'm having problems with Windows 10 and all the programs to deal with my P880... Yesterday I tried
to unlock the bootloader on my new G4 H515 but didn't worked.
The original software was verizon (at least it looked like), I downgraded to lollipop (V10b and V10d, both euro open) but, using the LG official method to unlock the bootloader didn't worked.
In adb the first command didn't do nothing, the second one reboot the phone but only shows a guide and how to reboot the phone, when I tried to go for the third one nothing happens.
The device is detected only for a few seconds, even by the original LGMobile Support Tool, after force the detection by disconnecting and connecting the cable the phone reboot in software upgrade
and its not detected anymore...
Anyone have the same problems and/or any solution?
Install Win7 is not an option, processor is not supported by Win7.
Thank you

In adb the first command didn't do nothing, the second one reboot the phone but only shows a guide and how to reboot the phone, when I tried to go for the third one nothing happens.
The device is detected only for a few seconds, even by the original LGMobile Support Tool, after force the detection by disconnecting and connecting the cable the phone reboot in software upgrade
and its not detected anymore...
Anyone have the same problems and/or any solution?
Install Win7 is not an option, processor is not supported by Win7.
Thank you

Solved!
Everytime we need to reboot the bootloader (or give another command in cmd) we need to uninstal the standard "kedacom usb device" driver and install manually the LG adb drivers.
BTW, was UNLOCKED running V20G-EUR-XX
I have an LG G4 815 which never rooted and I am not sure about bootloader (probably locked). I am on latest MM v20g. Is there anyway to root my phone so I can install apps require root? Without of course wiping my data?

Do you have an unlocked bootloader?
When you reboot do you see any white writing on the top left hand corner of the screen?
Hi!
I'm looking for a way to either root/twrp v1.2.0b02 (coming from stock files), or a way to apply the ota on a twrp'd/rooted v1.2.0b01.
I have tried this guide without luck starting from the point where the tool tries to flash twrp. when the phone tried to reboot into bootloader it just rebooted to the system.
With this guide i can't apply B02 as i get a mismatch error (forgot what the actual message was called).
any ideas?
thanks in advance!
edit: further information: i am currently on 7.1.1 b01 with unlocked-BL/twrp/root thanks to this guide, BUUUT i can not update from that to b02.
when i flash stock recovery and try to update via ota i get a "package mismatch" error during the update installation process while in the (stock-) recovery.
1. Which version are you running?
2. are you already unlocked and
rooted?
If yes, just flash stock recovery with axon7tool and update your system in the usual way. If done, flash back TWRP and supersu. Done.

Its a good question. For e.g. I'm on b10 G version rooted. How to come to A2017GV1.2.0B02 rooted?
Just the same. Install stock recovery and follow the update process as described everywhere in this forum.

What ended in a package mismatch? Flashing the recovery or updating? (Sorry, didn't see your first quote)

Hello,
I'm on A2017GV1.2.0B02, and I'd like to root it.
I have installed adb and axon7toolkit, but it seems there's no stock recovery anymore since 7.x firmware. So when I issue adb edl reboot, the phone is just rebooting the OS. :/
Which steps must I follow for rooting my stock A2017GV1.2.0B02 ?
Thanks.

the command to edl is: adb reboot edl.
To boot into recovery it's just power + vol+ button.
But since nougat you cannot boot into bootloader anymore. This would be necessary to unlock the bootloader. Therefore you would have to follow the steps I already mentioned in this thread.

B01 is what? Android 7.0 or 7.1.1? If you are already on 7.1.1 you don't have to flash anything. You will receive the update to B02 OTA. Otherwise you have to follow the official steps to get where you want to be. Described a lot on xda.

Thanks for the answer, but there's no recovery for the B02 7.1.1.

You are triyng to update your sistem with twrp and the stock update.
you need to go back to stock recovery, aply update from system, wait for process and then, reboot edl, and reflash recovery.
then from recovery root

My stuff was for reinstalling TWRP on an unlocked phone after Nougat deleted it.
You should try axon7toolkit and see if that does the stuff. Another way around would be to downgrade your phone to B10 (Marshmallow) via MiFavor's update by sd thingy, (i'm not 100% sure if it lets you get to mm from nougat, but it's definitely worth a shot) then trying the BL unlock thread (NOT mine!)

ooooh! guess i misinterpreted the guide then. i never had the problem to begin with as i already unlocked my bootloader on 6.0b10.

Okay that happened to me. By "this guide" you mean what I posted close to the end right? the xda app just shows me the last post lol
Try to download the full B02 package. Some guy mirrored the full package on one of the B02 posts. Then try to use MiFavor's own updater. It worked for me, can't see why you couldn't use that

You'll always get that mismatch regarding what you do or try. You'll need a custom made twrp flashable zip. Tron1 and I have tried to make one but no success. We will try to make a full flashable zip based on the full image.
Even if you flash your stock recovery back and do the OTA, you'll always get a mismatch regardless what others might say.

Most likely.
After doing the root method located here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/instruction-to-root-h918-10i-t3536472 my phone only boots into twrp and only has the twrp file on it. When i try to reboot into system it just sends me right back into twrp. I have no idea how that happened and i might of done the impossible but, is there any way to fix it? It's a T-Mobile 10j V20
Update: Tried installing therom from: https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/rom-maximum-ovrdrive-lg-v20-v2-0-t3518475 and yet it still only shows twrp folder and wont boot to the start screen

Yeah, MEGAROM wise it will take you into aroma installer which you can choose exactly what you want, like you can chose to flash magisk or supersu, lg sounds or pixel etc... Of everything else fails then just grab kdz file and flash through lg up

That is awesome! I hope it finally works and lets me see that beautiful start screen
It did not, and LGUP isnt working with a Failed to load error (5)
sounds like ur in a twrp loop.. are you checking to see if system is getting mounted in twrp?
there are a few ways to fix a twrp loop, try booting into recovery using the vol down method, and see if just hitting reboot works,
if not, fastboot commands that address this would be fastboot erase etc; fastboot erase misc ; fastboot erase fota ; and then reboot and see if it boots.
be aware boot up times take a lot longer then usual when you root, as the aboot is a little slower.
you could also try the twrp file manager route and delete the above directories also, etc/misc/fota/cache
if you have never done a FORMAT data with twrp you need to do that 1st and remove encryption as the stock rom is encrypted and will not boot after root.
Wipe using format data, type yes, then wipe the directories i mentioned and then flash the stock rom mentioned by the other member then reboot and let it sit for 15min. If it dosn't instantly shoot you back to twrp then ur good, just wait wait wait for that long 1st boot to complete.
