I just got my LG G2 back from service. There was no warranty involved at all but I still left it with stock. When I got it back i noticed that the phone had been updated to the 80220H firmware. The batterylife is amazing but I miss Cloudy G3....
Is there any possibility to downgrade so I can get root and custom recovery back? Any way to do it with a tool from a PC?
Best regards
Manneman

Try to root with strump apk or ioroot, install autorec apk for custom recovery and follow the OP instructions to instructions to flash cloudyg3 or whatever.....
To return to stock, download kdz file for our phone model and use LG flash tools, do a factory reset.

Well... Strump wants to "use bruteforce" because the phone isn´t supported, thanx to the 80220H update. Same thing with Towelroot. The question is, do I dare to try it? The agressive methot, I mean.

Use ioroot http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/ioroot/ioroot.zip, in sideload method, it works fine.
Enable Developer Mode on the phone and enable USB Debugging.
From the PC, with phone connected in usb , tape adb cmd: adb reboot recovery
The phone reboot in the stock recovery, in the menu go to "Apply update from ADB".
In the PC, extract datroot.zip from ioroot archive (in bts folder), and tape adb cmd : adb sideload datroot.zip.
That's all, enjoy and thank @autoprime and @thecubed

The Bruteforce-method worked... now I installed SuperSU from Play Market and all is good. Is it safe to use Autorec even when I´m on the 80220H update?
My goal is to reflash TWRP 2.8.1.1 and then restore my Nandroid backup (made with TWRP)

Hi imk trying to root my e610..nothing works,do i need to need to unlock the bootloader and put on custom firmware?...if so can somebody please show me how to do it..if been trying to root the s..o..b for days and getting nowhere fast...thanks...if been looking..would i be better just flashing it and use a pre rooted firmware?..if so how and where do i get one..
4.1.2 pre-rooted. Flash any one using kdz updater.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2275969
1. Install supersu.
2. Install ROM manager, select e610 as your device and flash cwm (or twrp) recovery.
Here's a guide to do the same. (use the rom from the first link, since the link to the rom is broken in the second link)

Use 'gandalf exploit'.
If it crashes the first time, restart the app and try again.
After root:
To get recovery, install ROM manager. Cwm Recovery can be flashed directly from it.

Hi,
I have an LG G2 D802 and already installed TWRP 2.6.3.4 for installing zip-files. But now there is an update (only browser, but 4.4 shouldn't be that far away), but without stock recovery it's impossible to install it I know the way how to get back to stock completely, but I don't want to go back to stock every time there is an update, installing all of them and then reinstall TWRP. I think on CWM the problem is the same, but i don't want to miss the camera tweak and splitwindow, so I need an custom recovery for the zip-files:crying: Is there any way to get the stock recovery back without installing complete stock or at least a possibility, to only "boot" the custom recovery when I'm back on stock, like on Nexus devices, and only use it for the flashing and then lose it on the next reboot?
You should be able to push stock recovery via adb or even flashify ( I prefer adb tho). What build number do you have?

I have D80210a-EUR-XX. But where can I find the stock recovery? And btw: what was the adb command for flashing? With my Nexus 4 I only used the ToolKit, because I was never able to use adb through the normal Win7 cmd, only through the toolkit...
most likely, but cannot confirm it, you ooen a stock kdz, and try flashing the kernel .img thats inside, I am not sure
anyone confirm it works that way
Sent from my LG-D802 using xda app-developers app
for all I know, the kernel doesn't contain any recovery... but I will test it tomorrow, when I downloaded the kdz if you could say me how to open a kdz-file.

here is a link to D802 recovery.img file i found, however its for the 10B build. you should be ok as i dont think the recovery has changed much from 10A to 10B, however i cannot confirm this. use this at your own risk, unless someone can confirm this will recovery will work.

If it's not working, I have a backup of the current. but I will test it tomorrow, then I have more time. But thanks for the quick answers.
Flashing the 10B recovery image worked well. But installing the update I only get an error so I go back to stock now.
I saw that flashify can flash zip files. Does it flash them itself or does it also need a custom recovery to flash them with it and flashify is only some sort of automtatisation? Then I could use this when I'm back on stock 10A (there seems to be no 10B for my device).

I've had similar problem, i think I just installed the KDZ file trough the way they showing: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
It just erased the rooy and TWRP, and all of the apps and settings did not change, its like a repach.
at least it should be. but I can't take the last step. "By turning off, Holding down power and Vol Down until it comes up on the screen." doesn't works, there only starts the normal software, and that's the old one. And unpacking the kdz file with 7zip or Peazip also don't work. Peazip can do ist, but I have to find out how to let it extract it. After installing it, there is another file with the same name, but it's an .cab file with password. If I boot over widgetsoid into recovery (I think this is what the manual means) there is only a little droid with a read sign. How to get further?
EDIT: found out how to come into that menu. It wants to make a hard reset so I make an backup first.
Finally I was able to install the complete new software version (D80210e-EUR-XX) over the LG PC Suite. The file downloaded from the manual seemed to be corrupted or so as it only caused an unpacking error in the programm.
Does anybody knows a way how to flash a zip without a custom rom? Flash Gordon seems to not work.

Without thinking (doink) tried to install the latest OTA.
OTA failed.
Now I cannot reboot into TWRP.
Installed ClockwordMOD and installed its own custom recovery. Still won't boot into any custom recovery.
Phone works fine other than that.
How can I get back into custom reccovery?
Note: When I turn phone off and try to reboot into custom recovery it takes me to the "reset" screen.. and then IT RESETS the phone.
When I try to boot into recovery from Clockwork or TWRP app it gives me the android robot with the open tummy and red triangle.

The OTA update installed the KitKat bootloader, which hasn't been hacked for custom recovery yet.
Use this to downgrade the only the bootloader and install custom recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715496

Oh. Not sure if AutoRec works if you are still on 4.2.2. Sorry bout that.
If it doesn't work, you can always just manually flash the complete firmware using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476. Surest way to get back from failed flashes. You can flash the full 4.2.2 or 4.4.2 KDZ and then start over again. That method wipes everything though.

HELP
I am screwed here.
#1. Tried the "unbrick stock" solution. Can NOT get it to work. I tried it all 3 ways given and it gets to the LG driver start... and then it says I am up to date. I tried to change the country, the language, upgrade recovery, can NOT get it to work.
#2. I can get TWRP to load. But I can't get my computer to recognize my phone so I can move a rom over
#3. I can't get ADB to recognize my phone.

Hello,
I have an old, fully working G2 and try to install root (and then TWRP) before giving it to my daughter.
My PC has PC Suite installed, recognizes G2 when connected, and all entries in Device Manager looks OK.
All tools that I found on the network start the rooting process, push the files, succeed to enter download mode and then get stuck at "firmware download mode" - it never moves from 0%. The phone can be power-cycled to reboot to the OS, and happily works ever after (unrooted).
Any help will be appreciated,
Try Kingroot...
Hi I had similar issue with g2 802...couldn't get it to go into download mode when connected to PC...
Ended up using Kingroot to root device...
and...
autorec twrp for kitkat...to install TWRP
Hope this helps

I can enter the download mode without problem, and OS is not KitKat. I tried StompRoot - but if refused to root the phone, wrote "Phone is patched, sorry". Will try Kingroot tonight.

Hi again....
Okay please try the above tool....
All the details are on the web page....
I tried this tool it certainly had a good go at rooting my phone
and maybe this helped the Kingroot program to work
Hope the works if Kingroot doesn't work either....
If you do manage to root your phone I recommend resurrection remix ROM
Its fast and very well supported....

In order to flash TWRP with AutoRec, do I need a specific bootstack?
I have a D802 and I'm currently on lastest Lollipop firmware, and I haven't root it.

Tried Autorec - does nothing. When I click on the "candy" that should initiate recovery install - nothing happens.
I tried to install using TWRP manager app, and using adb shell commands - I get error messages (something about critical error, and prompt to enter download mode or reboot) when entering recovery mode. Phone itself continues to be fully functional (and rooted), just without recovery mode.

yes for aosp'd and cm's you need hybrid to boot into system. unless is resurrection remix i think that uses JB bootstacks something like that. be sure to flash hybrid and then reboot the recovery to take efeect. so reboot into recovery from recovery not to system then flash rom.

Until today I had the impression that my LG G2 was done.
You see, a year ago I had this problem with an update, I carry the phone to my carrier as was under warranty, the Fixed the problem but after that I couldn't boot in recovery mode.
No Power and Volume Down or Up Working, nor the 3 times power combination and then I've just came across this boot into bootloader instructions that I didn't know about it.
Code:
Bootloader: With the device powered down, plug in a USB cable while pressing Volume Up.
Which works like a charm.
So can somebody please point me in the right direction to Install CM13 in bootloader mode?

steps are like this.
you are on KK, you need to search for files as that variant i dont know..
you must root phone and install custom recovery
so cehck here for root..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63327417&postcount=4
when you rooted. then proceed to install twrp. use the same link above and look in recovery
click on recovery.. remeber you are in KK so use the one for kitkat dont use Lollipop.
when you find recovery install it..when you have it installed. update it with this one
2.8.7.3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/twrp-twrp-2-8-0-0-kernel-f2fs-tools-t2898705
install bootstacks for your variant. 5.02 KK bumped.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/lg-g2-bootstacks-t3173715
then you need to find a flashable rom in zip format.. for d805. lollipop. once you flashed it and are in stock lollipop
then find root for lollipop use the links above , i thnk theres root for LP.
when roo is rooted then go to playstore and download autorec for lollipop for your variant..
install and install twrp.. update it with 2.8.7.3 thermal one..
then install hybrids bootsacks. for your variant
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/boot-g2-hybrid-bootstacks-t3183219
when installing hybrid.. reboot from recovery into recovery again to take effect ... then flash rom and gapps for cm13.
Already rooted. Will check the instructions, overall the one about the recovery...as I said before I don't have a recovery options, when I install TWRP and try to reboot into the recovery mode the phone just reboot.
I believe you gave me the instructions to fix this, fix the recovery, will follow your instructions and will be back.
Thank you for your time.
If it doesn't work try to install the stock kk again and do all the above process again
