Thank you @martinusbe

First impressions: boots fine, very smooth as expected from Slim. Pretty stable for an alpha. Still feels like Aosp, lots of features should be added in coming builds as mentioned by devs. Xposed, blu spark kernel working fine. Gravity box working, it's needed really to play with quick settings. I used Delta base gapps. The camera is a bit old/basic, not snapdragon so sultans camera hal didn't work. DPI is set to 420 but changeable up to 460 only. Network Signal seems good So far. Not tested long enough for battery life review.
Good work and very promising once the goodies get added in. Thanks
Sultans Hal works with stock and Google camera, but don't install the oneplus binaries provided by Sultan in the camera mod thread. Slim gapps work also pretty nice. GPS is stable, system runs smooth and absolute stable. Thanks @martinusbe for providing the first Alpha. RRO layers working pretty nice too.

I'll make a thread for slim6 probably this weekend, just some stuff to sort out before I want to release here, the build on slimroms g+ is pretty stable tho

Where did you get that from? It was updated with a build dated yesterday
btw @martinusbe how is cell reception on slim and your other roms? Every custom rom i tried have issues with cell reception. The only custom rom that comes near oxygen is Sultan's cm13, because he uses lollipop Oxygen's RIL. Paranoid is also using oxygen RIL, but for some reason speed is much lower on LTE, and cell signal is also weaker compared to oxygen and Sultan's.
Also, there seems to be another bug on roms based on AOSP(slim is based on that right?), where one core is kept at higher frequencies instead of going down. Does it happens on this rom too?

I just tapped on the link shared in this post and it took me to slim website but it was empty, so i tried to look for all devices supported just to confirm and the only device supported for the onplus family is bacon (1+1) i remember that it used to be bacon and onyx. So that's where i got the info from. If it's not there means there's not official support for it

Hi! Some of you may know That MIUI started to post 20 MIUI V5 unofficial builds and one of those phone is our galaxy s2 and I'm one of the Beta testers and. The build is based on aosp and the latest MIUI V5 3.3.22. So soon we can all wait for the official build the unofficial build is stable with little lags and minor bugs. But no stock MIUI or stock Samsung camera only the AOSP camera.
So here is my MIUI thread to see some screenshots and list of bugs.
http://en.miui.com/thread-2689-1-1.html
They should use sammy base imo for better batyery preformace the battery preformace on aosp based roms is not even close to the efficency of the sammy base.
Also the sammy cam is way better than the aosp.

Yes the battery is better and the camera also, but I see that the battery is very good on this build and don't forget this is unofficial it mean that MIUI didn't ported this. So don't worry the official beta build will be on stock

i think so because of the hw composer. without source codes jb is not different from ics..

The battery sucks on stock Samsung ROMs. Wtf? I barely got 13 hours of battery life. Both stock kernel and custom one. AOSP is the way to go. Good choice.

using gingerbread rom can be the solution for the battery, but jb's all difference from ics is hw composer.

Forgive me for wondering, but why limit beta testing to 15 beta testers? Why not have anyone beta test? And if its due to simplification and easy tracking of bugs, have a seperate "official" testing team that report back and a general report from any other user that is kept seperate?

very good rom. very smooth and a pleasure to use
only issue is that there are some visual style inconsistency such as the round corners not in the right place or the tabs not placed correctly when dpi is changed

Hey guys.. The new color rom ui looks beautiful and fresh on the n1..just wondering would it be coming to the find 5 sometime?
I think sooner or later it will, color rom is already available for find 5 on the oppo forums, don't know if it's the same or a different version of color rom.
My guess is it will be the same ROM

if it isn't.... with oppo's track record on new-ROM creation, think the ColorOS for N1 will be stable, or beta-ware?
To be honest that's a great question. Firmware has gotten much better and continues to get better but can it be labeled "stable" with the amount of errors and problems some users are having... ? Not sure lol.. Hopefully stable

I'd rather see a ROM from CM with all the "features" such as Dirac audio and a fully featured camera app working.
The ColorOS got ported to htc one.. Seems like it can be ported to any phone with a base like miui.. Wow!

So I've had this phone for almost a week now and noticed that most if not all aosp based ROMs use layers and cm ROMs obviously use cmte..wondering if there's any chance of aosp base with cmte??.. Not a fan at all of layers and thats part of the reason I run cm base ROMs.. Do to layers I refuse to use aosp ROMs not to say I haven't flashed them but they don't last an hour regardless of the features so I feel like I'm missing our a bit but I dislike layers that much..

The one from 19 December 2015 is rock solid and feature packed.
Is 100% AOSP based.

Well, I can assure you that you'll not find a more stable build that uses theme engine...everything works, including WiFi calling (TMO) and VoLTE...zero issues, and the per app theming port works perfectly.
That alone should satisfy your desire to play around with roms.

Most of the time android phones get arround 3 updates. Sometimes more than 3 but mostly around 3. So we had 4.0 5.0 and 6.0.....this was the final one. I don't think that the G3 will get 7.0. Verry little chances.

doubt cm14 can make camera as good as stock because LG's camera framework is close sourced not available to developers. So I guess we're stuck with crappy camera on AOSP roms

Simple solution, use dual boot patcher and keep the stock marshmallow rom with just basic apps so it won't take much space up. The next time you go somewhere and you know that you will be taking pictures, go to the stock rom and take those pictures (obviously, you would have your basic communication apps so you don't have to reboot again to share).
You can even use Android Pay with the stock ROM as the kernel can be a custom kernel and it will pass the verification. Just make sure you use pssh superuser and magisk for Android Pay. You have to use magisk as the dualboot patcher needs root to switch the ROMs, and magisk will mount or unmount the root so your phone would always be able to pass for rooted or not rooted.

Really sux that our device is 3 years old and still lg keeps the camera framework closed source. Imo they should share the framework so developers can give life to G3 and keep it competitive for a longer time. Is there a vote poll or something that we can ask for lg to share the G3 camera framework?

They are all fantastic ROMs. Hard to pick a "best". I have been crack flashing last 2 months. I've probably spent the most time on Dirty Unicorns though. My deciding factor lately is whether visual VM works with my carrier, Verizon. There are 2 ROMs, where for me, VVM hasn't been working.

This thread is pretty much counter to what XDA is about. "Best Rom" threads are rarely productive and often causes strife. If you truly want someone else to do the leg work for you then ask specific questions about specific features you are looking for, etc. We all are going to have our own favorite, based on our own criteria. I don't wanna come off like Debbie downer but I know where this usually ends up...

I'd agree. That's why i originally stated they are ALL great ROMs. Very political here sometimes. That being said, I prefer AOSPEx merely because of a very specific feature.
I specifically purchased this device to feed my crack-flashing addiction and I couldn't be more pleased with the amount of dedication every ROM maintainer puts into these packages. If it wasn't for this community I'd be Linux Distro-ing that crap out of my desktop. Regardless, try em all. You'll find your own preferences and styles to suit your needs on your device.
Have fun and thank you to everyone who contributes to this community.
