i have been hearing about these issues such as overheating, speaker problems, connectivity problems and screen issues. so i wanted to know if these issues are really popular on the phone or not, and on average after how much time do they appear(so that the phone wud be replaced if under warranty)?
PS im not buying it from play store, its from a retailer outside US
Totally safe and totally worth it. Go for it. No problems that can't be fixed with a little reading here at xda.

I've never had any issues with mine. It will get warm, but never so much I can't touch it. Go for, is still the best smartphone deal out there!

Have my nexus about 5 months, no overheating. People mistakenly say overheating because they feel the phone is hot due to its glass case, if the case were plastic or some other material you wouldn't be able to feel the temp as much and you would hear no talk of overheating. I've checked my temps and have never reached any where near what is actually considered hot.
My speaker is pretty darn good, just my opinion.... I would've loved for it to be positioned on the front like the one but other than that I have no complaints about the speaker.
I've had connectivity issues but I'm on T-Mobile so I wonder who's more to blame tmo or lg/Google lol.
Best phone I've ever owned, there isn't a phone that will beat it at its price point. There is no one in this world that can convince me that the s4 or one are worth $300+ more than my n4.
Just my biased opinion take it with a grain of salt but all of it is true....best of luck!

Never had any overheat on mine. Got it in April-May, and it's still going very fast and smooth without problems.
Best. Smartphone. Ever.
Only had overheating on stock ROM and kernel. throw some custom stuff on there, maybe a little undervolting and you'll be golden. After all it is a nexus.

youre phone wasnt overheating, it just got warm. those are two different things. when your phone is about to overheat, it automatically shuts down as a safety. using the phone to do anything cpu intensive will get it warm, just like any other device.

I am also thinking to buy n4 in India where average temperature is between 35 to 40 degree. Is it affecting the device?
Which kind of problems to n4 holders are facing?...

Mine came from the second batch, no problems so far. Also my brother has a nexus and he has no problems also. For me is the best phone out there (if your a nexus fan)
Everything is fine on mine, haven't had a problem. A sleight drop of frames and that's all. The lag was easily fixed though. Heating is normal, but I haven't experienced to much heat that it is uncomfortable to hold or anything. Best phone I ever had. Best phone for the price.

i know you were trying to be sarcastic and this would have actually have been funny if i had not given a description to the question(which could have meant i was asking if it was safe only due to overheating), but i mentioned a whole lot of other things in the description clearly meaning i wasnt concerned with overheating only and so by safe i accurately meant that the device would not malfunction, and thus i said read the whole thing before making a joke, it will turn out much better for you as it would actually make your sarcastic jokes funny

My Nexus 4 somes awakes during the night and gets into all of these shenanigans. Then I have to drive out to the police station and bail it out. So many issues it has. I'm just waiting for the day it strangles me in my sleep.
Hey there guys,
I'm from the UK and have a 3 (Three) variant of the LG G2 16GB. While the phone is mostly really fast and speedy, I have really sensative eyes that can detect a bit of lag. Now while this may not really bother many people, it sometimes bothers me as the phone is a 2.3ghz phone. I mean c'mon. I don't get the feeling the CPU clocks itself higher when i'm actually using it to do something.
I.E. Watching HD video on youtube. It runs buttery smooth every 10s or so and then "pop" a little lag occurs (btw it's not buffering, the video is like fully loaded). I don't want that to happen, it just ruins the viewing experience. This also happens in some games (i am aware that games load n stuff during gameplay sometimes) but i've been playing Vector on the highest settings; I came onto this level where there are now 3 characters (2 A.I and me) on the screen. The fps drops and then smoothes out then drops again. This is very weird! Why?!
Please someone help me get this really annoying lag outta ma brand new phone! It would be MUCH APPRECIATED!! <3 (lol)
P.S ( I have read a thread by Stefan063 and he stated
If you are experiencing some of annoying LAG on your G2,here is how to get LAG away (works with my G2) :
1. Type 3845#*802#
2. Scrol down to High Temperature Property OFF,and select
3. Turn it ON...
4. Turn G2 fully off...
5. Wait at least 10sec...
6. Turn it back on and wait about 30sec. when Screen Lock shows...
LAG-FREE G2
I don't know if this'll work for my phone. I have the LG-D802 version
Moreover, I have noticed a couple of days back a very small (quite unnoticable at first) black line on my screen. It's not a scratch, and is behind the glass screen; I think that the pixels or whatever in the that part of the screen have COMPLETELY shutdown. Like, it's gone! Completely black, i'll try and get a screen shot of it. I think I should go back to Three and get a replacement.
Why does the phone also ridiculously overheat when playing games? I get 40 degrees C while gaming according to CPU Z. Can anyone confirm this?
Thank you
Ok, from the top, i think. The YouTube lag has been reported by a few people, but most say that it does not affect them, so I am not sure what the cause is. I play games regularly including Madden 25, Shadowgun Deadzone, and Riptide GP. Even at length, 1+hr straight, I do not get lag or heat build up.
I run my phone in a case. The Ballistic SG case, which I am sure is not good on ventilation. The highest temperature I have gotten gaming with that case on is 98.2F. The highest I have gotten with the case off, when I use my Moga Pro is 93F. I have definitely never had the phone get above 100F and I am fairly certain that the 100F mark is a major point of throttling. If your phone overheats abnormally, this could cause the lag you describe. By the way, I too use CPU-Z for temperature readings.
Also, I believe those instructions turn off thermal throttling, which may make the phone smoother, but since yours may be overheating already, is definitely not advised.
And in the case of your screen, I would definitely get a replacement as that is not normal.
Hope this helps somewhat!!
Hmm....this is very weird indeed. This must mean there's something wrong with my G2. I spoke to LG and they said that the phone should operate between 0c and 40c which is above 100F. And this lag bothers me because this phone is not cheap and is ment to be top of the line.
Might I ask what model and variant of the G2 you are using?
This has helped a lot. Thank you very much. I will go to my carrier ASAP.

Sad but true! EVERY android phone lags! EVERY ONE OF THEM! Who says otherwise is simply a liar or a blind!
I have not owned but android devices from HTC, Samsung, LG, Nexus etc.. and they all lag to a certain level! Of course Nexuses are the smoothest but still stutter sometimes! It's inherited in Android OS!
Life Engineer, you maybe right. But it's just very weird. I just ask why to these big ass companies, can't you refine your damn devices!
Anyone know if Stefan's trick will work for my phone? I am due to return it tomorrow to my network-carrier but if they don't give me a replacement or help me out, I will try out this trick.

Unfortunately you are right! It's so frustrating to see my friend's iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s smoother then my quad-core beast or my other friends' octacore's beast!
But despite all that I can never imagine myself with an iPhone! I dunno why!
Maybe when they make quadcores with 2GB RAM and real multitasking and 5"+ screens with some logical prices I might!
Share your thoughts, are you concerned about this "new version" S810 V2.1 and any overheating issues?

seems none of the phones with SD810 has a satisfactory performance, let alone z3+'s dreadful nightmare..
I feel this will repeat Sony's terror with the Z3+. They felt they "fixed" the problem as well but fell flat on their face.
The only thing that gives me a glimmer of hope is that with the little(big?) bits of bad press about CS and build quality they really WILL try to make this phone different because otherwise their company may be dead in the water, especially since the 1+2 will be at a higher pricepoint than their consumer base is used to. Any failure on their part will be cannibalised by everyone.
Lets hope that Oneplus has right about praising the new revision of 810 . But I am not afraid because there will be hopefully a lot of kernel builders who can also work on possible issues
They're underclocking it a tiny bit and it sounds like they're using a magnesium frame with graphite thermal interface.
Too early to worry about SD810 issues until a sample tested.
I'll be waiting for reviews. Apparently the Z3+ uses the 2.1 revision too so that doesn't give me much hope, but OnePlus's may or may not tame the beast.

Ouch!! I really hoped that the 1+2's solution (magnesium frame functioning like an additional radiator) was nowhere else to be found...
Well... then I am a lil bit worried and will wait for the first reviews before buying one (I've heard we need AGAIN to jump through hoops and will still need to beg for invites ? )
I'm very worried, if a huge corp like Xiaomi can't get it right, how is a small team like OnePlus going to?

Both revisions are the same ...
AFAIK, they only merge/*add small changes on software level.
The main thing that , 1+ can/will/ or did, is adjust the CPU throttling and maybe add better heat sink(s).
cheers

Wrong, there are some hardware changes from v2 and v2.1: http://www.anandtech.com/show/9388/comparing-snapdragon-810-v2-and-v21
The most significant changes is memory bandwidth within the cache of the SoC, which should feed the CPU and GPU better.

HTC M9 solved it. They have better thermals than LG G4. See notebookcheck.net reviews for both devices. Not optimal but still maintains better performance than S808.

Hi
Sorry for the late reply.
No. your wrong, it's all on SW level.
Time will (hopefully) confirm it.
Adjusting throttling, and hotplug / arm SoC policies, has nothing to do with Hardware.
In the mean time, one of my co-workers, got one for reviewing purposes .
USB: Is so damm slow, the type C is just for marketing purposes, it's still cap at 2.x
Front camera: Just...bad
Cpu scalling: slow and not very well optimized
And some other issues concerning this device, i know the software can (will ? ) be improved, but for my standards the device is bad.
I quit this one. And will be giving away my invite.
Cheers

I can confirm this. I got an M9 yesterday to replace my S6. I know it sounds weird, but I think of it as an upgrade. The S6 was fast on paper but painfully slow at times during normal usage. App launch time was great, but UI lagginess, awful design and general unresponsiveness lead me to opt for the M9, especially after reading great reports about the latest SW updates.
The 810 in the M9 is cooler than the S6, I can guarantee you. Any semi-intense app on the S6 made the CPU jump to absurd temperatures (80+ degrees C) and the device got extremely hot on the metal frame.
The M9 gets evenly warmish, and CPU management is spot on as it never goes full throttle when doing basic tasks like browsing (unlike some other phones).
To sum it up, I wouldn't worry too much about the S810, it seems to run just fine on the M9.
I'm using the GearVR which I've got for the SGS6 Edge (works well with the SGS7 as well).
I do get messages while using it, that my phone is heating up and that I should disconnect my SGS7 and let it cool down before continuing.
Did anyone try to use the SGS7 Edge with GearVR? Are you facing the same issue?
Chipsets have auto-shutdown to make sure it's not damaged.

Noticed the same observation made on the Oculus/Gear VR forums. Here is his words exactly. I was hoping that all that heat pipe talk allowed the phone to operate for longer periods.
"- Heating is still an issue - after 30 or so minutes of heavy use and downloading various apps and games I received a warning that I need to coll down the phone for optimal performance. However, unlike with S6 I did not notice any slowdown in performance when the phone overheated. "

Right, I didn't notice any degradation in performance but at some point it didn't let me continue at all; I really had to take it out and let it rest. Given all the promotions and announcements, one would think they have made this solution work for more than 15-20min before the phone heats up and needs to rest... I hope for Samsung that updates will come out soon to better optimize the software and avoid the overheating problems.
I had the same issue for my Note 4 Gear. That's why I am selling the Gear once I get it, not even worth it if you can't watch a full movie through it..
Did you leave the outside lid off? I heard that helps.
Samsung needs to just release a cover with built-in fans. The people who added fans to the cover themselves said it fixed the problem.
I also had the same problem.what should I want to do I don't know Exactly

no one claims exynos is faster they are on-par with each other. otherwise they would have sold these phones as different models. However, I believe if they were not forced to Samsung would sell exynos galaxy's to USA as well. exynos is a beter chipset for galaxy devices because its designed by samsung. snapdragon 835 etc is a generic SoC.
