Which service (package disabler) is required for Wi-Fi calling? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answer

When I enable all my packages that are disabled wifi calling works.. but when I keep my list checked it doesn't work... so it has to be something.
Already got suggested IMS Service but it wasn't that.
Any Ideas?

These are the two I believe. If that isn't the problem then it could be a number of things: sim, WiFi strength, carrier restriction.

hmm i have those both enabled. Maybe it is my wifi connection.. it's pretty slow. I swear I've tried it elsewhere though.

I have the same issue. When I enable everything it work, just need to figure out what causes it.

[Q] SM-G900i with ATT network

I got an international version SM-G900i from Amazon. I have an ATT sim card. The text and phone calls work fine but I could not get any data roaming. Though from other posts I got the data roaming, I was not able to set onto the ATT 3G/2G network in the network operator selection. My network is always shown as Maritime. Does anybody know why this happens and ways to change it?
Thanks a lot.

I tried configure the APN setting based on a link online for ATT APN. Now I am losing signals even for calls and texts....I think there might be other things that are wrong...
Error message for no ATT service
Tried different variety of ATT APN setting. Still could not get it to work....the phone shows a signal but gave me an error message that Selected network(AT&T) not available

I'm not sure what did you mean by "data roaming"??
Anyway, the problem for now is no network register. The APN settings will NOT affect at this step, so not not try to mess up with it right now.
Try to get into Settings > More networks > Mobile networks, and set Network mode to Auto connect, and Network operator > Select automatically.
That may help the device to register on the Home network.
Problem solved....or maybe not but it is working!

Okay. Thanks. I switched it back to the auto-selection mode. By data roaming....I mean 3G data. My phone is working now. I checked ATT billing usage report, it did not increase the data usage dramatically so I guess everything is fine.

Glad that your phone works now.
BTW "data roaming" and "3G data" are different things. "data roaming" is "3G data" when you are roaming to another network (not your home network).

Wifi hotspot

I have a weird issue with the wifi hotspot on ZUK-Z1. I switch it on and it switches itself off again. Then gets in a loop. Off on, off on. Sometimes it will work for a few minutes.
I'm on EE UK 4g if that makes any difference
Anyone else have this issue? Or does anyone know if there is a fix?
Thanks
Men, i'm french, internet provider : Free (name)
And i have the same problem...
Yes, this is a bug in lineage-14.1-20170130-NIGHTLY-ham.
Hope that developers will fix it soon.

A workaround is to change to 3G just while the hotspot is on. That works for me. I don't use it too much anyway.
My first Z1 was stable as a rock but I have to say when I used mobile hotspot I was on 3G, that network did not provided 4G. Now I bought a second Z1 and I do see that this one is very unstable resulting that my laptop is "loosing" the hotspot and searching for another networks.
Will try this "trick"...I will see how it behaves in other locations to as it could be well that the old traditional building is somewhat blocking the signal.

There are no chances of it being a hardware issue. Because you told that it works fine when in 3G network. You can simply rule that out. And I don't think your network provider has something to do with turning on your hotspot! ???. It might be just a software bug. Are you on any custom ROM? If yes, then which?
Tried hotspot today in the same location but changed it into 3G instead of 4G...rock solid, no interruptions nor did my laptop disconnected once! I did read somewhere (was it here?) the the Z1 has less 4G freq bands explaining the unstable connection.

Mobile Network Disabled! Won't turn back on.

The mobile network just shut off for some reason.
I'm fairly inclined with tech, so scanned through the usual network settings and the apn network options, multiple reboots, clearing cache still nothing.
I am definitely in good standing with my mobile carrier, so I don't think its a carrier side thing.
Anyone have a similar issue?

Here is a link with a screenshot of what the network icon looks like: http://imgur.com/a/wIZpg
I'm using a Galaxy View LTE with no SIM inserted and that's the icon that's shown. Can you place emergency calls? If so your phone sees your SIM. If not that means your phone doesn't see your SIM and I can't offer any help as to why.
Do a factory reset and try again. OR change your SIM.
I had a similar problem. Go into settings>Connections>More connection settings. At the bottom go to Wi-Fi calling. Check to see if Never use Cellular is checked. It was on mine. Don't know how or why. It just was.

ROM that has wifi calling baked in

I was really hoping the latest update would bring wifi calling to the Moto X pure. Are their any stable ROMS that has WiFi calling baked in?

If your service provider gives it - you can try magisk module "VoEnabler".

I am stock/twrped/magisk rooted. The module installs and allows selection of WiFi Calling under settings > wireless and networks > more > wifi calling. Haven't determined if it works or not. Does seem VoLTE option is gone unless also there but hidden.

No longer under "phone" settings either. Replaced by WiFi calling. I called myself but have no indication whether or not working. I will probably know when I receive a call at home as service inside is poor.
As for the codes above. Wonder if entering them will turn WiFi calling off and return the VoLTE setting? Or, maybe they are both on now?

Sprint/Tmobile S20 stuck on VoLTE?

I've been getting complaints about my cell phone connection for about a week now, and I've realized that I'm on voLTE. I quickly found the setting but it's grayed out! I can't toggle it off at all. I've tried limiting my networks around, I suppose the fastest fix would be to dock it down all the way to 3g (and while I'm home that doesn't seem like a bad option) but I'm wondering if anyone here has had a similar experience.
I'll likely launch another sprint ticket but I've already yelled at them once today about my bill (regarding the purchase of the s20)
My whole family is having this issue, they live in a place with 1 or 2 bars of nothing and it won't switch to wifi calling unless they put their phones in airplane mode or switch to 2G(GSM). But in certain places it will switch to wifi calling, it says in the Wifi Calling FAQ that as of April it would be prioritizing VOLTE over WiFi Calling.
Go into settings, General Management , Reset and Reset Network settings. You will have to log back on to your wifi and turn on Wifi Calling afterwards. It should then work. I have to do this occasionally.

That didn't work either, that's what Sprint recommended.... But I found a fix! This app shows a hidden menu!

##data# will bring up a menu go to edit it will then ask for your msl which is 6 zeros and then enter ....go to volte down in menu and u can then disable it ...if you update profile you may have to do this again

On my Sprint S20, I was able to use Samsung Band Selector app to disable VOLTE, but it knocked out 5G. I have not been able to have VOLTE but still get 5G working with Sprint. Anyone else?
