Anyone else experiencing this problem with S7 Edge (Exynos) - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I am having s7 edge exynos version(935f) since a week. Display, battery, fast charging, camera and everything else on this phone is amazing. Infact it is the best phone i ever owned. Today i found out that when taking panorama pictures it reboots and is unable to take panorama pics. I am using a 64gb external SD card, recording UHD videos, Slowmo videos and everything else runs smooth without any problem. It is Just rebooting while taking panoramic pics. No other issue. Did a hard factory reset, the problem still persists, Anyone else experiencing this issue? suggestions/solution please.

I just tried it on my Exynos version. No such issues. Try upgrading the firmware to the latest version? Also, try taking the picture after removing the SD card.

It's fairly old G935FXXU1APB6. I'll be updating manually tonight hopefully.

It happens even after factory reset? That's strange. Could well be related to hardware. If you can't solve it, I would return it.

[Q] My HD2 Camera isnt working good.

Hi,
The day when I got my HD2, the camera hasnt been that good.
Sometimes it takex excellent pictures, but many a times it doesnt.
I upgraded to the stock ROM 2.XX and now running the latest Elegancia ROM.
Sometimes the camera just tries to focus and then just takes what is possible.
But yesterday i compared mine with another HD2 (also with the stock ROM) and the other phone takes amazing pictures.
Could it be a Hardware problem?
One more thing that I have noticed.
usually i do not like to set the Image preview on. But many at times, I hear the click and as I decide that the image is taken, the picture appears to be stuck and later refreshes. Turning the Image Preview On resolves this problem.
Its like as if the camera has become faster and more responsive.
Any clues for the image quality? or the Auto Focus ?
I havent tried the registry tweaks etc,
I tried setting ISO to 100 ,
Flicker to Auto,
Image quality to Normal.
Elgancia rom has camera issues I had a problem where they came out really blurry or the flash and the camera would make everything white. If I was you I would flash it back to t-mobile stock rom and check if it makes a difference if not maybe its your phone.
You more than likely have original release HD2 hardware. What color is your reset button? If it's red then you do indeed have first revision hardware, and the camera not working properly is a known hardware fault, and most of the time T-Mobile will replace your device free of charge because it's a known problem.

Aahh now there is a catch. I am in india, my brother bought this for me from ebay USA. So i guess i will have to live with it. Thank you for this clarification.
Others, please check your phone camera quality. as the other HD2 I have checked has good quality. Otherwise its an amazing phone. It has been the best buy so far.

I dont know that, But I dont think either. My camera issue has been from day one. Elegantia ROM has made my phone faster and more elegant I would say.
But I assure you, I would check back the Stock ROM later and let you know
Meanshile, i would also ask steve about the same.
Or.
Maybe if someone else had this issue and got it fixed ?
Wonder if there is any fix that i can try.

Atrix video recording issue/problem!It's freeze

Hi guys!I bought Motorola Atrix one month ago..and since the first time I record a video,I noticed that sometimes(not always)the video looks like freeze.
Yesterday I take 10 minutes of video(1gb lol),and during recording it's freeze 3 times!
After I stopped the video, I watch it,it made the video 3x faster than it is.
Obviously it lost the audio/video sync..
I have the stock rom with 2.3.4(it is the latest version available in Italy)without Root.
This is very annoying..please help me!
Sorry for my english!
It happened to me with CM7 ba2tf. Not every time. Sometimes. But I can never tell what caused it.
I thought it was CM7 bug with Atrix, but you are on stock.. Anyone else having this problem?

I start to think it's a hardware problem..
I'm having exactly the same problem... not really sure why though, but it happened on CM7 and Stock ROM, I also tried to record on the microSD and the internal memory (both options) with the same results... I'm hoping this is not a hardware problem, otherwise I'll have to sell my phone. I use it to record all kind of stuff...
Hope someone can help us here!
Thank you!
Judging by the time (10 minutes) and size (1 GB), I'm guessing the problem lies with the SD card being too slow. Try using a higher class SD card and defragmenting it first. From my experience, fragmentation kills SD card performance and defragmenting it makes a lot of difference for read/write speed.
Did anyone find a solution to this?
cheers,

No just do a factory reset, load your apps back up and see if the issue persists. If it doesn't crash then the reset is enough, if it does, then send it back.
I experienced lock ups while in the gallery, but that may be due to my 64gb SD card. ( which was working fine 3 weeks ago on my note 2 )
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
Same here. Camera froze 3 out of 10 times...
Can u please type what kind of device u have? Snapdragon or exynos?
Skickat från min GT-I9000 via Tapatalk 2
Yea factory reset it and then see how it is. If that doesnt fix it then send it back
I have the same problem. Camera crash 4 out of 10 Times. Black background looks like light violet.
Possible they are firmware bugs ( childhood disease ).
Regards
My snapdragon S4 is very laggy, stutters and freezes.
Also getting very low Antutu scores: 23000
Hopefully it's just firmware issues and will be ironed out in future updates
@Memz12 (OP)
Can you PLS make a poll so we can get some idea about the magnitude of this problem
If possible it would be nice to distinguish between variant, carrier and firmware if possible?
Hearing all this is really deterring me from getting this phone
If I helped you out be sure to hit thanks
Swyped from a minimalist S2
My device is GT-I9505. When i started Need for speed the phone froze again :S i had to reset.
experienced the same problem... camera crashes and doesn't response.. i'm using an Octa and on XXAUMDL
All of the samsung bloat is taking up space in the RAM
Beep Beep Boop.
ID: 22842DSd
same problem here
Mine completely freezed in NFS, I had to remove battery twice, huge lag overall. I've got an GT-I9505 Snapdragon from Amazon UK last week.
camera crashing or rebooting your S4 is a common problem for both 9500 and 9505, but i noticed games and apps works better on the octa version 9500 which i currently own.

Very annoying camera issue, please help!

Okay so my camera does this in lowlight and yes when I take a photo the lines will stay... what is wrong?
Bump. It is sad that this is the 4th time I post in this section and get 0 replies.
Anyways I discovered that when I go lower the megapixels to 12MP or anything else NON WIDE the lines disappears, but whenever I choose a wide mode MP the lines appear.
Edit: 5 days ago I didn't have this kind of problem at all. Please help.

no sir its one of the problems with this phone, some other folks have reported the exact same issue i believe its a hardware issue with note 4's camera sensor. Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/camera-shooting-lowlight-t3244104
i am afraid there is no way around it it was bothering me so i got rid of it (the next one was restarting randomly...and the next one had a broken gps....lol) samsung does not believe in quality i doubt if they even have a quality control department.
I'm having the same problem as yours
I went to samsung and they tried replacing the camera module but the problem remained, they said that I'm having a custom rom and it corrupted the "IC" of the camera, so it's a software problem as they say.
Is your phone rooted or running any no official rom?
See if you can update your camera firmware by going into the dialer and type *#34971539#
This is mine.
Edit:Update?? How?

8 Pro significant video recording lag and stutter

Hi,
I have been using my Oneplus 8 Pro Black 8GB RAM version and noticed that when recording videos it stutters for 2-4 seconds on all settings both when recording and in the finished processed result.
Its overall sluggish and reacts very slow when moving the phone around both with video and photos.
This is a pretty big issue for me, actually a deal breaker. I had a few complaints about some other, mainly software problems and I got over it because it's the best phone I thought. But with this lag it's a no go.
It's not always there, but it's there.
Is it fixable? Because am I am loving the phone and would like to keep it but with this problem I would definitely have to return it.
Anybody having this issue? Any suggestion?
PS: I wanted to post a video but I am not allowed.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Could you post a sample of this issue? Are you on the latest update? Are you using the stock app? Have you tried doing a cache wipe?
I am on the latest update, using stock app. I didnt try Cash wipe.
Here is one video. The stutter is at the beginning in this video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fK72ha1TXU
Yes, I can see the stutter. I suggest go ahead with the cache wipe in the stock recovery to see if that helps, try clearing the cache of the camera app too.
If that doesn't solve the issue, I advise you to contact customer support and explain this to them.
Also you might want to create a thread on the official forums, they're following that better.
This is definitely a software issue most likely fixable via an update. If this only happens at the start then I'd just start recording a couple of seconds earlier to be able to cut the part out of the finished video.
One more thing. Does this happen on every setting? 4k60, 4k30, 1080p60, 1080p30? What about the rest of the video modes?

Where can I do the cache wipe in the stock recovery. I did the cache wipe in the camera app, didnt help.
I posted it on the offical forum, only few people had this problem. Which makes me wonder, when its a common problem, then its beeing reported by more people not few.
It seems that it only appears on 4K 30 AND 60 FPS, not on 1080p but I have to test that in the morning.
When I cant solve this problme, I will return the phone. I had the dilemma, which phone to keep (S10 +, S20 + or this one), i decided OnePlus but with this no chance.
Ok, I cleared camera apps cache and phones cache. After it didnt help at all, I did factory reset, it didnt help too. So I am out of options.

Is playback choppy? Or just recording.
FHD screen or QHD?
What OS? 5.4, 5.5, 5.6?
What video Size? 4K 1080, 60fps or 30
But more info mate
Both are choppy, recording and playback. It occurs in 4K 30, 60 FPS in QHD+, 120Hz, with the newest OS 10.5.6 from yesterday.
Hmmm, just tested the video and I don't seem to have this although I do get phone slow down and input lag. Perhaps they're related? Maybe I need to wait for the input lag and slow down for the video to go funny.

Yeah I got these stutters too sometimes idk what the cause is
It seems that either not many people have this problem or its not recognized from many of them.
I saw only few complaints on the net.

Ditto - Same here - no problem. Just setting up my phone, and have not messed with camera settings at all.
I am hoping for some solutions soon, I contacted the support too. Otherwise I have to return the phone. Which is pity, because I love it.

I think I notice it with HDR on, HDR off seems to improve it?
Sent from my IN2023 using Tapatalk
@Batfink33
When you have this problem, you would have already noticed it. It is very distinctive. HDR doesn't make any difference by me. However the lag seems to be more present with 4K 60FPS then with 30 FPS.
I been having this issue since day one. Sometimes framses drop to 10 and is very annoying. I contacted one plus and they suggested a replacement. They didn't have too many cases of the frame drop at the time but it seems they are all out of stock so a replacement will take awhile. Shame cause I think the phone is awesome.
---------- Post added at 01:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:37 PM ----------
My solution has been to use the latest gcam version. It supports 4k 60p now. It maxes out at 100mbps so you lose a little data rate. But I've been hearing about this black crush issue so may need to send it back
Are the people with stutter using the 12 or 8gb version?
Sent from my IN2023 using Tapatalk
I have 8GB version, but I saw in forums people having this problem with the 12GB version too.
On the site from OnePlus they are out of stock, but on Amazon you can order any version of the phone. I don't get it.
I will try gcam
Me too on 8gb, 10.5.6. Oneplus support advised to wait for a future software update. Tried hard reset, cache wipe, app cache clear, to no success......
