Nexus 7 3G - calls over gsm? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there! I'm looking for a possibility to make/receive calls over a GSM signal. It's possible? I'm not interested about things similar to VOIP and SIP. I have a Nexus 7 3G with Autodroid ROM. I've tried with the framework_res edited file, but It did not work. Or maybe it's a way to direct calls/sound from my phone to tablet over WiFi/Bluetooth? Thanks

[Q] wifi calling from myTouch 3g

I get terrible reception in my house.
I see that there is a thread where they use the myTouch 4g, or is it the 2g, rom to update the Nexus One, & a thread to update the myTouch Slide, to make calls via wifi.
Does anyone know if this same rom will work for the myTouch 3g to make wifi calls?
Or does anyone know how to 'fix' the myTouch 3g to make wifi calls?
Thanks!
Go to my video i have the apk on prescription

I downloaded the APK and it will install, however it will not connect to the wifi to make a call.

Can Nexus7 make GSM calls?

Not sure if this is the right section but I just gotta ask. Can Nexus 7 make GSM calls? Or is there any mod that can enable GSM calls on Nexus 7?
No, there is no gsm chip. There was a mod for wireless data via dangle, but no gsm voice or anything.

Noob question regardig GV + VoIP

Hey guys, new to the xda forums after lurking here for the last two weeks after getting my N4.
To fully describe my situation, I'm still in college and on most college campuses, signal is very shaky while strong Wi-Fi exists everywhere. Therefore, I initially thought GV + VoIP would be a great option if I dont have signal. However, I'll also be traveling a lot this year in the summer and in those cases, I'll be relying on Tmobile data (yeah...not sure how reliable that'll be in a lot of areas in the U.S.) so I'll probably want to call using T-mobile signal. Being the phone noob that I am, I'm unsure if GV + VoIP will allow me to use the wi-fi in campus to make calls during the fall + winter and also allow me to still make calls with the Tmobile minutes I have in the summer when wi-fi is shaking and I don't really want to trust in Tmobile data strength in a lot of rural U.S. areas.
So TLDR: does GV + VoIP have an easy option to switch between using VoIP with wiFI and disabling VoIP and using carrier minutes to call?
Thanks in advance and sorry if it's a stupid question haha
Use grooveip. You can try sipdroid also but grooveip is better I think.
A thread with a lot of good info....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646755
Use groove ip and set it to only use while on Wi-Fi. Problem solved

I normally use Talkatone (a Groove IP alternative better IMO) and turn on airplane mode and turn on WiFi. I have T-mobile but I only use it as a backup for when I find I am not getting my WiFi signal for the hotspot I always carry with me. So if I need to make a T-mobile call I just turn off airplane mode and use the native dialer to make the call.

[Q] Disabling SMS reception

I'm curious as to whether there is a sufficiently reasonable way of disabling SMS reception on a rooted Nexus 7 3G. I have a pair of twin SIM cards sharing the same phone number - one in my cell phone, the other one in the tablet. I prefer to handle all the GSM stuff on my cell phone (texting, calling) and all I wish of the second SIM is to connect the tablet to the Internet via 3G. The fact that Nexus 7 is receiving my SMS is hence counter-productive.

minor issues with nexus 4 after lte enable

Hello guys
So I flashed the all in one LTE zip. It works fine as I have it set to gsm/LTE/CDMA and usually I get hspa. When I change it to LTE only I get a LTE but for some reasons I am not getting calls. I can call out, but I get nothing when I call myself. Any ideas as to why ?
Because your ROM and radio must match. If your ROM and radio don't match you won't get call audio.

no, its because the kind of lte that we use is for data only, not phone calls. change it to lte/gsm, gsm is for phone calls.
