The only change I make it to add the MMSC, which the 6p doesn't fill in by default, as well as adding mms to the APN Type.
MMSC Server: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
APN types: default,supl,mms
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-2090

This is what I got directly from a T-Mobile rep after I had issues the other day : Free T-Mobile Msg: The default APN for T-Mobile is fast.t-mobile.com .The default MMSC server is: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc . For more information see https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-2090

Nexus 4 Net10 MMS

I am currently using Net10 with an AT&T sim.
I can make calls, browse the web, and send/receive regular texts, but I cannot send or receive MMS messages.
When I try to send an MMS it gets stuck "sending".
I am using the stock messaging app.
I am on android 4.2.2 stock with paranoid android kernel.
Here are the APN settings I am using:
Name: net10
APN: tfdata
MMSC: http://mms-tf.net
MMS Proxy: mms3.tracfone.com
MMS Port: 80
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Your APN settings appear to be correct according to Net10. Contact your customer support. Please note that MMS uses mobile data and text messaging.

Yes, those are the same settings I used. MMS does not work.
The Nexus 4 is capable of MMS because it worked just fine on t-mobile.
Unfortunately T-mobiles network is weak in my area, which is why I switched carriers.

I'm just telling you that you'll probably have more luck contacting customer support and finding a correct answer (depending on customer service quality) than you will asking the populace of a message board that can't see the server side logs of messaging and data transactions. As long as your SMS and mobile data are working properly and you have the correct APN settings, there isn't a whole lot more than can be done on your side to look for problems aside from trying your SIM card in a known working phone.

Unfortunately Net10's support has been horrible.
I just thought that it was possible that someone on this forum had experienced the same issue and found a client side fix. (different apn settings etc..)
I'll try their support again. Thanks.
I went from net 10 to solavei. Net 10 sucks when it comes ton customer service. It took me 3 days to find the data APN online. MMS never worked

I have the AT&T sim. Unfortunately those settings do not work for me. I do not get any data when I use "wap.tracfone" as the apn.
When I use your settings, but I change the apn to "tfdata" I can send mms but I cannot receive mms. I get the message, but when I try to download the picture it says it can't receive it.

No, just stock messaging app.
Then just change WAP.tracfone to att.mvno
I have a att sim and that works fine so strange.

Tried that as well. Still no data. I just don't get it...
I even tried a new sim. And I have the same problem.
Is there no one on here that has net10 on a Nexus 4 working perfectly?
You are not alone. Can't download MMS either. Its not our phones. I'm on a pan tech flex. Worked perfect today, activated. New sim with a new number, now I can't download mms. I get the download message, but fails to download. Pop my other net10 sim in, works. Put mine back in, nothing. Everything else works, even sending MMS. But fails to download. CS was no support. They blamed it on my phone even though I told them my other net10 sim works with it. Tomorrow will be another battle. Its something on their end. Not ours. Not MMSC or MMS proxy combination works for me.

All I can think of is I know they have been creating all these new APNs. A week ago I had one set with the att.mvno but those all stopped working. Then I was given the "new! Wap.tracfone ones. Then activated this new sim and now I have the tfdata set. Maybe this new MMSC and MMS proxy isn't quite set up properly in their system. Or something with new account provisioning isn't right. I tried all the mmsc and mms proxies known to net10. Some worked and some didn't. But none would actually download mms. Would just deliver the download message. Its weird how some peoples accounts work with only certain APNS while others with exactly same accounts won't. The way their system works is quite interesting.

Thank you for the information.
This is truly frustrating. I wonder if switching to Straight talk would help.
Not sure it would help. My other Net10 sim works just fine. I assume you just activated your sim card recently? Apparently these new APNS are very new. As last week I was given different "new" APNS. Maybe their is a glitch in their system with them. Normally if MMS isn't going to work, its just not going to work period. But to send but not receive is baffling. If they can't fix it tomorrow, I will demand a transfer of my number to a fresh new account.

Yes, I just activated my sim two days ago.
I tried transferring my account to a different net10 sim I have. But I still can't download mms messages.
Both sims came in the same starter pack.
I wonder what could be different with your old net10 sim that would allow you to download mms, but not with your new one.
If you are using the same apn settings, it must be an account setting.
Their support is absolutely abysmal...
Please keep me updated if you are able to find a solution.
Thanks!
Well. My theory is, since some accounts only take to certain APN settings that, your account gets programmed with them. Which is why att.mvno and wap.tracfone don't work with this new sim, while it does with my other which has been activated for months. I think when a sim is activated, its programmed to only work with the current APN settings. Changing them on the phone won't work. Right now my old sim won't work with anything but wap.tracfone but my new one won't work with anything but tfdata. Its odd. So maybe our new sims Re programmed to work with the tfdata settings which are having issues on their server side of things being so new.

That makes sense! I will try calling their support today to see if I can have them change my account to allow the other APN's.
So after talking with support she was unable to resolve the issue.
She did say she escalated my account so that their technicians will look into the mms issue further.
She said she was not able to change the apn because that is something that is done on activation.
All the new sims are automatically activated with the tfdata apn.
After further discussion she decided to send me a new sim card so that I can transfer my service to it.
She told me to call back when I get the new sim.
The interesting part is that she said that when I call back, I can request that they activate the new sim with an old apn. (wap.tracfone or att.mvno) to see if it resolves the issue.
It will take 3-5 business days to get the new sim. I will report back with any further info.

Unable to receive SMS/MMS after porting to T-Mobile

Hello everyone,
I just joined T-mobile last week and ported over my old phone number to it. I'm able to receive and make phone calls just fine, but I'm unable to receive SMS/MMS messages. Oddly I can send them to my friends, and they have all confirmed receiving the messages (they called/emailed me to let me know). I was told it would take 2-8 hours on average to port my number over, but up to 48 hours worst case. It's been 5 days now.
I've contacted T-Mobile about 8 times now over the phone, and each time I'm told to check my APN settings, clear my data and cache in the messaging app, reboot the phone, put it into airplane mode then out of airplane mode. Nothing is working. Upon googling, some people have said to contact their technical department and to ask for a number rebroadcast. They're not working on this, and I hope it works as I sent and received several text messages on a daily basis, both work and personal.
Has anyone ever had issues like this? I'm scared that it'll never be fixed, and I really don't want to resort to getting a new phone number just to "fix" the issue. Some people on google in the past have said a rebroadcast has fixed it for them, while others have gone weeks without resolve. All of these horror stories were from 2009 or 10, so I'm hoping now that a few years have passed, T-Mobile has their act straightened and can fix this.
Try this: open the dialer and press *#*#4636#*#*
Then phone information.
Scroll down to SMSC and hit refresh. Make sure it reads "+12063130004",145. (Including quotations) if not change it to that.
See if that helps.
P.S. you may want to write down the smsc before you change it.

It matched exactly. Not sure what to do but wait 24 hours like they said I guess. Although I've waited the past 3 days every time they've told me they were trying something new. I really do appreciate your help though. I noticed WCDMA was selected as my primary network type, is this correct?

Yep that's correct. Wcdma preferred. One more thing to check. Is your old phone still on? That can mess up SMS as well during porting.

I ported my number from a Google voice account. Friends of mine have done this a few times flawlessly, so I figured I'd port mine over too since everyone practically calls/texted me at that number. Google claims the number has been transferred completely over to T-mobile, so it's their issue if I'm not receiving SMS messages.
Hmmm. Well I'm out of ideas. Hopefully it sorts itself out Good luck!

I don't think apn settings make a difference when it comes to your plan.
What radio are you on? Look under settings/about phone/ what are the last 2 digits where it says baseband version?
I would test it out on another phone, if that does not work it's mostly something wrong on t-mobiles side. Had a similar issue but it resorted itself out after some time when porting to t-mobile.

Problem with MMS being received over Wifi? Possible fix

HI all and please forgive me if this has been covered, I did search!
I just jumped from the note 3 to note 4 and once again experienced the problem of mms messages being received over wifi. I could get them if i turned wifi off.
It appears that the Tmobile default APN has no port set for Multi media message port (at least mine didn't)
I created a new apn with all the default setting but added multi media message port 80 and it seems to have corrected the problem.
Im not rooted so no custom rom installed. (Yes, i had my note 3 rooted and was a rom freak
Please delete this if its covered somewhere else and accept my apologies.
I hope this can help some others out.

Success! Mms works over wifi calling on the inverted message app. Thanks a bunch!
This sounds very helpful could you post some pictures of how its supposed to look? I rarely do anything with the apn settings i usually wait for the flashable zip.

I don't really see why it wouldn't work on the S5, assuming it is afflicted by this same issue with MMS and WiFi. And yes that was all I put in inside of Hangouts itself.
Will give it a try, thanks
Does WiFi calling have to be off? Just tested with my wife's s5 with the same settings, both on WiFi... MMS will not go through until WiFi is toggled off on both devices. Didn't try toggling WiFi Calling.
Thanks! worked great!
Awesome!! Thanks so much for this. This was really starting to annoy me.
CHOMP
If you use Chomp for texting, go to Settings > SMS & MMS Settings > MMS Settings (Go here if MMS isn't working) > T-mobile WiFi calling fix and check it!
I needed it for SGS5 but haven't yet, for Note 4.

Correct but if you on WiFi and WiFi calling is on that should not be checked off. If it is it will send thru TMOBILE data and not WiFi.

Thank you for this. I feel like it should be a sticky and plastered all over t-mobiles site. I have had a Note 4 I purchased from T-Mobile a week ago and have been switching off WiFi to receive MMS messages. I'm thinking its imessages (I switched from iOS) but nope, its a T-Mobile issue. Happy this is solved I was almost regretting my decision to buy an android phone.

[HOWTO] Enable Tethering on MTS G4 Phones

So for the life of me couldn't figure out how to enable tethering on the MTS G4. I have rooted my G4 but it still didn't work regardless of what method and app I used. I know from talking to other MTS users that MTS doesn't really have a way to track the traffic, and even if they didn't pay for tethering on their plans and still tethering, it didn't cost more. So there had to be a way.
Well turns out if you go into APN profiles, there is a profile called 'MTS Internet.' That is the one MTS setup for you when you got the phone. If you go into it you notice that the mms proxy is set to 'wapgw1.mts.net'
The APN profile for MTS at Howard Forums list the mms proxy as being '209.4.229.90 ' This is the one I used on my S3, and tethering has always worked for me, and I never had extra charges. There is the 15GB per month limit though.
So I setup a new APN profile with the following settings, and my tethering worked instantly.
Name: MTS
APN: sp.mts
Proxy: Not Set
Port: Not Set
Username: Not Set
Server: Not Set
MMSC: http://mmsc2.mts.net/
MMS Proxy: 209.4.229.90
MMS Port: 9401
MCC: Should be auto set to 302
MNC: Should be auto set to 660
Authentication type: Not Set
APN: Not Set
Did you edit the current profile or made a new one. Coz I cannot edit the current one and when I make a new with the data above its not there.

I made a new profile. Make sure you save, and then select it from the menu. Give it a minute or so to connect. Took a while before my data started working.
Is your tethering working now?

Yup. I knew there had to be a simple way to do it. Looks like the 'MTS Tethering' apn profile is not filled in properly which is why it cannot be selected.

It is now. I made a new APN profile. My default MNC was set to 306 . When I changed it to 660 like you did. The profile was gone so I left it as default the second time then it worked.
Yup. Those APN settings are the ones MTS released back when they originally switched to HSPA. Back then they probably never had a difference how people used their data plans.
Is anyone having issues with tethering working using these settings? Mine suddenly doesn't work. Wondering if MTS changed anything.

Doesn't seem to work. Still says 'no internet available.'
Does it work for you with the same settings?
I installed Pdanet and everything seems to work. I guess the built in tethering app isn't working.

MMS Sending/Receiving issues on T-Mobile? [ADVICE]

Hey All,
A buddy of mine and I were having issues with MMS and receiving on Marshmallow with the 6P and 5X on T-Mobile. To see if it helps for all, you should set the settings below on the APN and give it a good ol'reboot.
T-Mobile GPRS:
APN Protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming Protocol:IPv4/IPv6
T-Mobile MMS:
APN Protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming Protocol:IPv4/IPv6
After that it worked for us, so if you're having issues, this may work for you.
Thanks this worked for me and my girlfiend.
Thank you so much! This was driving me nuts.

It didn't work for me, either. I've tried all the APN mods I could find for T-Mobile, but SMS and MMS would not go through. Then I read somewhere that Google's messenger app has a problem with multiple T-Mobile APNs, so I disabled it, and installed Textra instead. It worked immediately, but if you still have issues, it's got some advanced hacks specifically for T-Mobile in its settings.
at first it didnt work for me but i applied the changes then turned my phone off and back on and it worked

There are times when my MMS doesn't work on textra and I have a notification that tells me I can try again. Usually works
Hey, thanks this worked for me too. I had a dozen MMS messages backed up and after I entered the settings and rebooted, they rolled right in as soon as I requested them again. Really appreciate the assist, the last thing I wanted to do was to get stuck between the Nexus and T-Mobile support lines.
:good:

Thank you for this information. I'm shocked they had it defaulted to IP6...
I had to power off/on the phone before to get stuff to send MMS wise before
Sadly, you loss the ability of WiFi portable hotspot ?

Reboot your phone after changing the settings, if it does not work just go to Tmobile website and add copy APN settings from there and reboot.

You sir are the best! I kept having issues with MMS and just changed the setting and now it all works fine. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was actually thinking of stopping to use my Nexus 6P due to the constant issue. Hopefully the fix sticks. Thanks again.

MMS is supposed to be solved in the 6.0.1 update. Install that and see if you are having the same problems.....
Anyone have issues while connected to wifi? I can't send or receive unless I turn off wifi

I found a possible solution here: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/VW_L9kVVy8g
"In SETTINGS > APPS > Settings Icon on the right top > Default APPS somehow the default BROWSER APP field was empty. I put it back to CHROME and within seconds the MMS messages started to come in and go out."
Is the only fix for this to turn off WiFi if all the other possible solutions have been attempted?
