Hi,
I bought my S7 edge 12 days ago and I bought a non-official flip case for it which I received last Friday.
Sins then I noticed some small scratches!!! I googled the issue and saw that this was something comon with the former S6.
I will contact SAV very soon and see what they propose.
Anyone with the same concern?
Nope. Had mine week before launch day..zero scratches
Had mine since launch also. Got a screen protector on the front but the back and home button have no scratches.

Cleaned mine down yesterday with a TV cloth and found my first tiny little scratch on the back glass. Sad times. Hard to get cases and screen protectors atm here in New Zealand but the store I got it from will have some next week finally

I've only had my Nexus 4 just over a week & now noticed the Oleophobic Coating is starting to wear in the middle of the screen were it's been rubbing in my pocket.
Past phones i had with this coating has never had this problem upto a year after purchase.
I'm not really keen on screen protectors, but it looks like the Nexus 4 needs one just to protect the coating.
Im now considering RMA it, and the next Nexus i get stick a screen protector on right out of the box.
So has anybody else suffered this problem were the coating starting to come away?

I have mine now for about 4 months, i use no screen protector and no wear off noticable anywhere on the screen.
AW: [Q] Oleophobic Coating doesn't last :(
Have mine since January. Still has its coating and I never use a screen protector.

it should last between 4-6 months, it will wear alot faster rubbing on materials or if you clean the screen often, you can buy those drops to restore a coat ontop.
I was wondering, what do you guys think? I just got mine and I've left the factory cover on for now. Do you think this is a problem and I should invest in protectors, or should I just use it? Where could i purchase these drops your talking about?
-Thanks
You could replace it.........Ifixit

Just use a screen protector. It's fairly cheap. You can get one xtremeguard screen protector for $1 with free shipping in the U.S with promo code 80off.

Dude thanks for posting I picked up one for my new nexus4 and my old GNex for the wife. Total cost $2 for just the front screen on both. Somehow she scratched the screen on her sgs1 and I cringed handing over my trusty mint GNex.

Wear off in 4-6 months. That can't be right!
That's like selling a product meant to not last and just throw away

That isn`t right Had mine for 4 months now and nothing of the oleophobic layer is wearing off anywhere.
I don't think I have had a phone it had ever worn off.. Heck I still have phones all the way from about 5 years ago.
If it's wearing off I would contact Google about the defect

It seems a few others have suffered the same problem as me with the coating starting to rub off in places.
I remember iphones & ipads suffered the same problem to, not sure if it still effects the iphone 5
In the past I've had GS1, HTC Sensation, GS2 & GS3 none of these ever had a problem with the coating wearing, also have a Nokia Lumia 800 & same goes for this coating still just as good as the day i bought it.
Maybe it's somekind of manufacturing fault with a few Nexus 4's, were they not applied the coating properly.... who knows.
Eitherway think next week I'm gonna return it, and the next one i get hopefully without any other problems i'm going to put a screen protector on it right out of the box.
Em. How do you know it's wearing off?

My girlfriend and I both ordered Samsung Galaxy S4. I received mine on Friday. After unpacking it, we noticed that the glass that covers the screen sticks a bit up on the upper left corner of the phone while on the other corners the edges are within the silver frame. She received hers today and we noticed the same problem on her phone. Is anyone else familiar with this?
Sounds like the adhesive that holds the glass down hasn't been applied correctly. I'd return it if I were you.

Yeah, sounds about right. If I push it down, it stays there for a while and then goes back out.
Fortunately I'm in Europe so we have a 14 days return almost no questions asked plus a 2 year warranty. Definitely going to return this one as well, just a bit of a bummer that we have gotten two phones now with pretty much the same fault...
Hi guys. I am new on this forum. I got my note 3 a few days ago. Did anyone else notice little points on some places on the bezel? Came like this out of the box. I returned it to the store and got a new one but the finishing of the bezel was much more worse then the previous one. Its a shame that for a phone this expensive it has poorly finishing. Also will a click on flipcase damage the bezel even more if you take the phone out from time to time? Oh well its a phone and for usage...
Thanks for the feedback.

My Note 3 also had a scuff, but just a minor one.
Bothers me now since I noticed it!!
I see a tiny scratch on my bezel too - and i've had a case on it since day one.
seems the bezel is easy to get damaged! a friend of mine droped his phone about 20cm on the (very fine grained and paint-sealed factory concrete) floor, and the bezel has 2 about 2mm big places where the chrome-like layer chopped off. looks horrible... :crying:
I never dropped my phone.
What's the color of the plastic underneath the bezel metallic paint layer ? Black ?
Mine isn't that deep or big to notice all of that.
guys please send pic....
can't see mine good enough to take a pic
Mines horrible. Got plenty of scuffs on the top edge showing the black colour underneath. Never dropped it, never lay it flat - not sure why its rubbing off already!
Anyone had any luck fixing these? Bezel replacement, painting chrome etc?
Maybe it's better to remove all the paint?

Mine are minor on different places and taking a picture won't show it well. I asked in a local phone store how to repair it, only way is display replacement since its attached with your display the bezel...

I know this is an old thread, but I just got my note 3 with some very minor skuffs on the top right of the bezel. You can not feel them with your finger, and you have to be in very bright light to see them. I looked at a friend of mines also, and it had the same skuffs on the exact same place. I guess this happens in production.
I had two from the time my cat thought my Note 3 would make an excellent toy and threw it off the table (I bought an Otterbox after that).
Fixed it with grey metalic nailpolish. Also lackered the entire bezel with blanc polish to prevent the rest of the bezel wearing off. Cost me a total of about 10 quid. Quick, simple and no need to replace anything.
Soemtimes you have to think a bit more like a woman We do this with fake silver rings, too.

I'd be happy to, but you can't see it on a photo.
I have thee co-workers that have the S7 Edge. Of the three, two have gotten broken screens, on the edge, just from carrying them in their pocket. In each case the VZW reps have advised them that they "see it all the time" and that these phones are terrible about this due to the "flexing" in your pocket. I have personally dropped mine on the floor twice now, each time with no breaks.
Has anyone else seen this? Whats your experience?

I have broken my screen 3 times so far. One time even with a tempered glass protector on shattered the whole screen.. Got it fixed 3 days later pulled it out my pocket broke again. Watxhing YouTube videos they make the screen appear strong.

That's not very encouraging. How did you break them? Was it normal wear and tear, drops, carrying in your pocket, etc?

i had mine fixed by Samsung. its like 270bucks or something ... that includes shipping. took a week but you get it back in "new condition" ... still waterproof, the cell shops you see on corners can do a good job of fixing but they generally do not put it back together so that its water resistant.
just my 2cents
Hello there. I have a question. In juli I bought myself a P10 plus telephone. After a few days use ( I never place my phone in the backpocket) I noticed that the telephone was a bit bend and when place on a table - I could actually tilt it when touchin it in the corners. I talked with my Mobile service provider (those who sold my the phone) and it was sent to their workshop. My mobile service provider paid the bill and the backcover was replaced. When I recieved the phone from the workshop - it is still bit skewed ( Ive uploaded some photo and films here : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B7bL9wrgJXjXSUxuRmpVa2FucnM ) . Anyone experienced similar problems?
Kind regard the frustrated
Haha... No... fortunately, I dropped on the first week I got it on 8th of April since I using it every day the only issue I faced is the painting coming off for some reason. It is inside the case and still coming off from the back, which is odd. not scratched or fallen down to the floor, but little dots of paint coming off.
But I find a good screen protector which is good, called Ghost Shield. The designed curve on edge of the front glass is makes a nightmare to find a good screen protector, but this is cover the surface edge to edge not peeling up on the curved area either.

Thanks for the reply. Well at least my paint is intact
If I had dropped the phone or physically missused the phone, then I could only blame myself - that would somehow be less frustrating
Im using this flip case for my phone. Very elegant.
Update : I'll get my unit replaced with a new one. Since no one replied with the same problem - I'll conclude that it can be narrowed to one faulty device, although I can see that there were two repports in the P10 forum.
